Hello from California....its a sunny warm 70 degree morning. Life can't get any better than that in February. Makes me want to get out and plant flowers, but I'll wait as I know winter isn't over with yet. This is just a teaser.

CG, what a list  I'll never be able to fit it into my largest suitcase. And now the airport has that weight limit. I was over weight on the way home from my last cruise and it cost me $75.00, ouch :furious: One think I always take on cruises is decorations, especially a string of lights to jazz up the stateroom. One cuise I went on there were 22 girlfriends, 11 staterooms in a row. We each decorated our stateroom with a different theme. There was the western room, tropical, football, Laverne & Shirley, Mardi Gras, seaworld, sun & moon, safari and so on. We made quite a hit on the ship. People were always stopping in our hallway to look at our rooms. We met alot of people.

Hi Grumpy C Hook....good to have you back :flower3:

Good to see your pictures Stevemed. Your girls will fit in with all of the others in this group.

PhillyJen, wow 2 vacations in a row. What a life, but I don't envy the drive to Florida with the girls.

Suzie, hope your day perks up :sunny:

Come on suzie come out and play. :) I do hope everything is ok.

phillyjen..lucky you getting to go to florida.

partypat..I hope my oldest fits in because she is very she.My youngest on the other hand will be leading the pack.

and as for Tom......your quotes are killing me. :rotfl2: My wife thinks I'm loosing it when she finds me sitting all by my self at the computer giggling like a school girl.

Hi Guys

Wow , there is quite a few more posts since my last visit .
I did go back and read the 4 things part . If I can remember what they all were I will give it a try

4 places I lived
Same place all my life in central NY

4 jobs
retail sales Ups n Downs , wow , that dates me !
Manager at Bally's Fitness , you can tell I don't do that anymore HEHE !
Field Supervisor with a remediation firm , my husbands LOL
Assistant Manager PT at Gymboree , yup now that store is my big addiction , going to counciling for it still :O)

4 place we have vacationed .
Alaska
Arizonia
New Orleans
All of our Eastern , Western and Southern cruises .

4 favorates shows .
Lost
Survivor
Grays Anatomy
Who said House Hunters ? . me too

4 places I'd rather be right now .
On our Disney cruise
Any place with no snow and warmer temps

I'm sure I missed something .

Since we have been on so many cruises I have learned to not worry about what to bring at all , we are so laid back and if we forget something we roll with it . I found that since I was on the boards so much before our last cruise on Royal Caribbean in the fall I didn't enjoy it as much as all of the other ones so I do have a tendency not to post as much or do so much research . I NEED SUPRISES IN MY LIFE :O)

Since DH is away for the next 6 weeks I am finding myself and the girls being a bit on the bored side . I am trying to plan things for us to do . I did see someone went to see Nanny Mcvee , how was it ? If I wasn't in so much debit from this Disney Vaca I would typically head to Florida and stay with my MIL , but the plane tickets are out of my reach right now . Not much to do here in NY and I can't stand the cold .

Pat you are so lucky to be living in such a nice warm climate , I'm jealous ! 70 degrees sounds good to me right now !

Hey CG , are you going to be at Whispering Canyon on Wednesday night ? I would love to met up . Is there anyone else who would like to get together ? We have dinner reservations at 6:20 and were planning on heading back to Disney for the fireworks , but we can also just relax and have a few drinks too !

Partypat--LOVE the themed room idea. I'm really enjoying all the great ideas for 'what not to forget to pack'. Need to go back and ck out CG's link to the list--sounds like a doozy (is that a real word?) I went right out and bought that overthedoor shoe holder and a powerstrip yesterday, lol. Now to find some clothespins for the shower curtain...

PhillyJen--No WDW when you're down there? It kills me to be going on this cruise and not be stopping by there at least once. Your trip sounds like fun, though. Enjoy! (BTW, it was I who mentioned Napoleon--all the people I've recommended it to either love it or don't 'get it'--no in between)

I hope my Rubygirl (nickname for DH) gets to meet all of your DHs--DS gets to bring his best friend and she's always jealous of how he's older and gets to see his friends more often. She will have a blast with this crowd!

Suzie, hope everything is okay....?

okay, I think my pity party is over. Just a crappy day, bad computer sites (one I'm trying to get abck on with the group that has been together since we were all pg 4 years ago - I can't log in and the password reset isn't working!). I'm just really frustrated today and in a shi**y mood! One good thing is that I cleaned up my living room, vaccuumed the upstairs (I HATE to vaccuum!!!! I'd rather clean a toilet!), cleaned and mopped the kitchen floor, did the laundry, and loaded the dishwasher. Amazing what you can do when you have it all stored up!

Phone just rang - my aunt at the hospital with grammy. They can't do the procedure because of high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat. Oh, great.
Just one more thing to add to my really shi**y day!

So, when I have days like that I try to stay away from the general public. I end up losing it and saying something that isn't really nice. Then I have to go back and apologize later - I'd rather vaccuum than do that!!!

Anyway, gonna take a nap now. Maybe my crabbyness will get over itself.

Julie - It would take more than an insult to my beloved (just kidding!!) duct tape! Nah, nothing you said. Just one of those Really bad, horrible, no good, very bad days.....

I'll check in later! Good to see everyone out and about!

PJ - do you have room in your suitcase? Just two stowaways?????????? No, okay....well, you tried.....have a great time! Can I tell you how jealous I am!!??!!

SteveMed,

You just fed an ego that really doesn't need it, but if you want some more I am more than willing. Here is one the Queen really likes,

QOTD:

Why is there an L in Noel?

PJ, we are leaving Vero on the 7th heading up to North Carolina, by the way Vero is about an hour south of Cocoa Beach. You are more than welcome to come down with us a few days earlier and I will drop you off on our way to NC. Tell HeadGear I will take very good care of my favorite GOP from PA, and as far as A1A goes I think that you sort of own that one section that HG left his mark on.

Suzie, Cheer up babe, its tearing me up to see you in that kind of mood, trust me there isn't anything that you could say to me that someone hasn't said before, so get your butt in gear and start posting. Tell Ed that I will have to get a hold of Bow Tie Joe to post about Jet Skis in St. Maarten, he is the one that did it, but I think that we might be interested in doing it also.

RubyGirl, need to change that nickname if you want to be a pirate, get on board and start posting, before I send for the Pango Man, he is captain of all the Pirates.

Pat, what about an affordable and very good Napa Cab?

Oh Julie, enjoyed Solon and Beachwood looks like I might be going back in a couple of weeks. It seem like a nice area even though I did not get a chance to see the Legacy place, something for next time.

I also just found out that it looks like I won't have to go to Vegas between our Vero trip and the Cruise, I know it sounds crazy but I really didn't look forward to it, I don't like the time change.

Tom pirate:

Okay, okay Tom--what does 'pirate' mean? (besides swashbuckler? pirate: ) Does it mean lurker? If so...I'm really trying to post, honest! I just know that whenever I get on here, my DH and children will not see me for hours! :surfweb:

Okay, so the OCD in me followed CGs packing link all the way to the end of the thread and found that at post #150, there is a link to the Sheldon Family's website where you can download an excel version of the list. Great for us 1st-time cruisers and sounds like a good reminder for CC members also. You can PM the Sheldon's for an updated copy. Can I post their website addr?

www.stlsheldons.us

What a great list!

aaahhhh....sweet sleep! Dreaming Disney dreams, thinking of the beach...but what is that noise?! Intruding on my slumber! I stumble to my feet - drat! only 20 minutes of peace....stumble down the stairs - feel like I'm back in college after an all nighter.....to the sounds of a drill, hammer and a little voice saying " daddy, I help?" HOOAAAAHHHH! Ed is finally installing the old upstairs batroom sink cabinet in his bathroom! Thus getting it out of the middle of my computer room!!!!! The smell of the dremmel wakes up my nose (pew!) but my little heart is jumping for joy!!! YEAH! It's only been 10 months since that darn thing has been in the way!!!!

Ladies, there is a God and He is visiting my house!!!! Now that's a way to wake up! Only 99 more things on my Honey Do List!!

While we're asking "Board" questions - what is a tag fairy?!!??

In Tom's case, he is a pirate pirate: (I think this is the meaning - this is what I thought it meant). Meaning a guy. There are only so many manly emoticons on the site to use for men. princess: Princesses and pirates pirate: ....sounds like a lovely movie, doesn't it?!?!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

I get it now. Well let me get my brain out of the refrigerator and clarify that rubygirl is my DD...NOT my DH as I erroneously posted. And what I mean is that I she (not my DH!) would love to meet all the other girls... what a dork I am!

So anyway, I'm with Suzie--what IS a tag fairy?

RubysMom,

I thought you said that your nickname for your DH is RubyGirl? So I was just trying to call him out a little, the term Pirate was what we called the guys who posted on our last cruisemeet thread, so I sort of just carried it over. Since there are not many of us Men (term used loosely), we just need our own special term to use. Tell him to get on the boards and introduce himself or we will make him walk the plank when we hit the ship.

Wait a second I need to back up this thread, is your DH your Dear Husband or is RubyGirl your DD (dear daughter). The Queen just pointed out that our terms might not be the same, let me know if the Queen is right (remember I do have to sleep with the lady).

Here is another one for all you people playing it by ear on your island adventures,

QOTD:

If your plan is to have no plan, do you have a plan?

Tom pirate:

Thank you, Suzie (and Tom!), for setting me straight!!
--Trish

(overlapping post syndrome)

Trish...I feel your pain! Why can't we just call them what they are anyway...husbands, wives, daughters, sons, kids, etc...don't know why we have to abbreviate everything, and why we have to put the D in front of it...sometimes they really don't act all that DEAR!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

Too funny! Thanks for understanding. I did actually know what I MEANT to put but it just didn't translate to my fingers. And I am a transcriptonist...SCARY!

Also, Tom, sorry to say my DH (my husband, really) is not coming on the trip! Crazy, I know, but this trip is for the girlfriends and the kids in our case, so just my friend and her daughter are joining myself, my kids & DS's best friend. DH is SOOOOO totally going to be missing out...we plan to parasail, swim w/dolphins, get a cabana massage, have a drink or two, and have just an incredible time meeting "y'all".

So on that lovely note, I better pull myself away and get something done around here.

Suzie--what a relief just to cross even one thing off that honeydo list...the longer it's been on the list, the more satisfying when he finally does it!

Have a great day everyone!
:moped: ............

Suzie,

I just rang up Bow Tie Joe, and told him to answer the question, he said that this is our thread, but it was Bow Tie and Jen Lynn who kept this thing going when there wasn't anyone. I think we need to make them honorary patrons of our thread as I told him someone needs to keep this thing on Page 1 when we are sailing.

RubysMom, no harm no foul, I am glad we got it all straightened out before she ended up being one of our drinking buddies.

If the Energizer Bunny beats someone up, is he charged with Battery?

Tom pirate:

Suzie...I think we're going to have to wait for CG to get back with a description of a TAG FAIRY...glad you woke up in a better mood :) So vacuuming is the "chore" you dislike the most? For me it is putting away laundry...I would rather wash it, dry it and fold it 100 times than put it away even once! I also don't like unloading the dishwasher...UGH  To tell you the truth, from looking around my house, there really aren't many chores that I DO enjoy doing! I'd much rather sit in front of the computer all day :surfweb:

PJ...wish our weeks were the same so that we could enjoy a few glasses of wine together before the cruise! We enjoy Sterling too, but we like the Cab while you like the Chard...

Pat...wish we were enjoying 70 degrees today instead of 35! At least it is sunny :sunny: though...with the sun's reflection on all of the snow though, it is hard to drive!

Funny this is that "D" can mean what you want it to - dear, darling, dork, darn, dam*ed....the list goes on.

Back to my sob story.....things just keep getting worse. I may be away from the computer this weekend to be with my grandmother. Not in THAT sense but because we're going to have to take turns with her. It's wearing on all of my aunts and mom. They do have lives they have to take care of, so this weekend may be my turn. Wish that da*n laptop worked, I'd take it with me. Anyway, here's the latest:

My grandmother went into Kaiser today to have her colonoscopy. After several hours they they finally told her that due to her blood pressure shooting through the roof, her unstable heart rhythm, and her high diabetes numbers, they would not be able to perform the procedure. Needless to say, we are all very concerned and worried now. My aunt Betsy was with her but unable to speak freely on the telephone so we really have sketchy news at this time. She will now require constant care (ie: not be left alone) until the procedure can be rescheduled. We are now able to understand that her dizzy spells were signs of heart trouble. Betsy was told to call 911 if any further occurences happened. We're just really concerned about what all this means.

Please pray for my grandmother, my aunts, my mom, the doctors and caregivers. Pray that we are given calmness of heart. This is my only grandmother who has been around my entire life. She's a second mother to me.

Thanks everyone. You're the best and I know you understand. I'm hoping that we can arrange for someone to come be with her and leave the family to be with her during the days only. This is very stressful for my aunt Betsy. She's a preschool teacher that loves her kids and misses them but obviously is There for my grandmother. I just don't know what to think anymore.

Well well well... this thread is jumping!! Tough to read through all the posts, but I TT called me out, then called me up :smooth:

Suz - I Jet skiied in St martten just off the beach. Where the water taxi docs if you go to the right, that is the drinking beach where TT and Pango hung out. Go off to the left there is more beach and Jet skii vendors along the beach. It was $35 for 1/2 hour back then. You can also Jet Ski at Coki Beach in St Thomas, but you have to take a cab there. It's a nice beach with a bunch of things to do, so we made a day trip there last time.

Pango!!!!! You da man! Hey all, don't forget to shake the hand of the Pango man when you board!!!

Gotta run... lots o stuff to do at work. :surfweb:

Suzie- I'd be glad to come over and vacuum anytime( one chore I don't mind at all) if I could just find someone to do my laundry. The kids were actually down to the clothes normally buried down at the bottom of their drawers before I got to some of the laundry this week. There's still a big pile down there!! Your Gram and family will be in my prayers

I really don't mean to be a downer. Just trying to keep y'all updated in my life - since you know my life story anyway, right?! :rotfl2:

On a brighter side, I started my CRUISE PACKING! Well, okay, I put out a big suitcase on the bed in our guest room and started putting stuff in we will need then but don't need now.

I have a question to y'all. Did you get travel insurance and did you insure everything? Air and ground transportation, hotel stays and of course the cruise. We only did the cruise portion last year and really wondered about everything this year.

Tom - I would love to have them as HONORARY CRUISERS! Hey, BTJ will be there every time we lift a glass, every time we call the drink waiter, every time I see a Bow Tie......Thanks for the jetski info, Mr. DisneyJam....I just can't say that with a straight face.....Bow Tie Joe!!
