Suzie,

My thoughts and prayers will be with you this weekend. Take care of yourself too, it is so emotionally draining to worry and care for someone that is ill.

OHJulie

Sending warm and friendly thoughts to you all, plus our prayers - I hope she gets better quickly.

I lost my father a couple years ago. Keep family close - be by her side - and pray.

We'll be here for destress time - and for dishing about family if need be too. Sometimes it helps to vent to people removed from the situation during times like this. The DIS was a great respite for me when I was not in the hospital by my father's side. I still, to this day, rely and lean on those friends that were there for me then.

Suzie, just so you know you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Enjoy every minute you have with your grandmother and hopefully there will be many more memories to come.

My mothers favorite saying was "Enjoy your sweet young life", no matter how old you are. I repeat this often to family and friends, young and old.

Suzie- Will be praying for you. Grandma's are very special people.

Ok, I joined the group over on the other site. Loved all your picutes.

Survivor- I couldn't believe it when I heard about Richard Hatch. He was always telling everyone how smart he was, well, I guess the whole world know the truth now, he's an idiot.

Wow, MKetting, that picture is priceless. I see that your enjoying your "Sweet Young Life".

OHJulie, I'm sure your 13 year olds will have a great time with my nephew even tho he will be 16 in May. He's a country boy at heart. Lives on a ranch with horses and such, but loves snowboarding and surfing and was a fishing fool in his younger years. Hes a great kid and is lots of fun. And by the way, loved your Bonanza pictures. I always wanted to go on a trail ride. My brother-in-law is mounted search and rescue and always wanted to go with him on a search.

I'm a big survivor fan...this season looks to be interesting. I think getting rid of Tina was a Big mistake for the order women. What were they thinking :confused3 . As to Hatch. I agree INSANE, INSANE, INSANE :crazy2: What an idiot!

I've enjoyed everyones pictures on the new web...it took me forever to gather my group and I'm not done yet. Still need a pic of my sister, her hubby and my other niece and nephew. I will post them as soon as I find them. I'm new to this computer thing and digital camera, so this is a great teaching experience for me. I think I have the hang of it. :surfweb:

Congratulations InTheMood....How great for you and your family. Too bad about the Cruise....but maybe you'll decide to go.

Well the countdown is on for us newbies. The 13th will be here before we know it. Whats the process you need to do on the computer to get to the reservations? Is there anything I need to do ahead of time? So far I have done everything thru a TA, so haven't had any interaction with DCL.

I plan on spending the weekend moving my bedroom into my sons old room. Its much bigger. Since I have an empty nest, I can just about sleep in any room. But the real reason is that the smaller master needs some work done to the ceiling and painting, so I thought I might just as well move out and have an empty room to work with. If I like the other room I might just stay there. So lots of work for me this weekend. It will be good (and easy)to clean out the old while I' moving out. Nothing like a fresh start in a new room.

Hi Pat , we are counting with you . I know that when I log into the site I was able to pull up everything such as Palos , the Spa and the registraion for the girls . I think it is really easy . I am hoping to be on doing this at 12:01 am on the 13th LOL .

My Mom loved that trip so much that my parents are footing the bill for my family and my sisters this cruise!! :thumbsup2

Ohsodisney- Just in case you missed the earlier posts we actually had to get up at 3:00am to reserve not 12:00.

Pat- To reserve on line you need to log in to the DCL site. You'll need to know your reservation #, there'll be a spot that says retrieve reservation, enter# there with your birthday. Your reservation info. will pop up. Then to make the Ressies choose My Cruise Plans , on the left, and the options for Excursions/Palo/Spa/Kids club will come up. Simply click on each and the options will be there.

CG- Just read your post about Coral World. My sister is planning on doing the same thing with her twins. I am a car seat fanatic myself, my 8 year old still sits in high back booster with her seat belt. She can't wait for the cruise because she will turn 9 and I said she will no longer have to use the booster. My belief is if they can be in a safer seat then they should be, so I know what you mean about being nervous but I'm sure they'll be fine. :) My father in laws always tells me how his kids never used carseats and they were all fine. As if that would convince me my kids didn't need them. ( he drives me batty )

I have to say that when my two oldest children were young I had a 56' Chevy panel wagon with a playpen in the back....... :confused3 BOY, have things changed. I wouldn't even think about getting in a car now without a seatbelt or a carseat for the children. In fact, I think the little ones wouldn't let you drive until everyone was belted in. I seem to remember my doctor asking me if I used seatbelts when my youngest (14 years younger than my oldest) was 3 years old. He said that if I didn't it was child abuse. Thank god I used them at that time, along with a carseat. Times do change....for the better.

Ok you guys...I just spent my Friday nite searching for photos for the new web and I think I've got it.....at least all that are going on the cruise have been accounted for. I don't think I've left anyone out. I should have been spending my time going thru my closets, but the computer called. This REALLY :surfweb:is addicting.

Have a great weekend....I think I need to disconnect the computer to rearrange the room...good thing, as I'd probably not get anything done tomorrow.

Weightwatchers and Cruves in the AM.....I'll post when the rooms back together.

suzie...I hope everything works out for you and your family. We will keep you in our prayers.

I can remember as a kid sitting in the back of my dad's van.We would sit on the wheel hump and see how far we could get thrown when he hit a bump.(that shows why I am this way as an adult. :rolleyes1 )The one thing that drives me crazy is why do they have no seat belts on school buses?

School buses are supposed to be the safest vehicles on the road - but I do want seatbelts on them too. I think that would improve the discipline problems too.

Thanks. If I think about it too long I get really nervous - but I want them both to go and experience the beaches.

The last time we were in St. Thomas I was very pregnant and we took a cab over to Meagan's Bay - man, I thought I was going to have that kid right then and there! Talk about bouncing around - feeling like you are going to fall out of the cab's sides on steep inclines. That is what makes me nervous.

I am still going to do it.

In St. Maarten one of my options is to go with a woman for a private tour and she has minivans that car seats can be belted into. IT's just one of the options I am mulling over.

I JOGGED THIS MORNING!

Now I am off to prepare a speach for the caucus so I can be elected so I can spend $75 to go to the convention so I can sit around and be bored for a weekend - yeah, this sounds fun! :worried:

HEY - BY THE WAY - I AM DOING A CALL OUT FOR TOM AND JULIE!!!! Where are you guys????????????? :sail:

I think they saw our photos and headed for the hills - that's what I think............

What is everyone doing in St.Maarten?I am looking for some ideas for my group and would like to do something cheap.Maybe a beach or something.

PhillyJen is I think heading to Le Gallion beach on her own - she posted pics over at Yahoo of the beach.

A lot are doing the Golden Eagle - which is very fun I might add.

Belle & Rellas Mom & Dad are doing Great Bay beach - the beach right in Phillipsburg which is accessible via water taxi or walking.

I am mulling over several options. I have the name of and have talked to a fantastic tour guide in St. Maarten who will take you anywhere you want to go very reasonably.

I am also interested in the Sea & See excrusion through DCL.

I haven't quite figured out what I am going to do.

I have heard a lot of great things about Maho Beach too - its the beach where the airplanes land right over your head and has a great bar.

You can see some of what people have planned on Yahoo (and this is a reminder for anyone not yet posted over there to get over and click the database stuff and put in your excursions if you want to).

I AM ELECTED!!!! Yup - no issues. I am going to the nominating convention! Yipee.

Well, I hope it's not foreboding for Suzie's situation, but my husband's grandmother just passed away.

It's Ok though, everyone. She had had alzheimer's for 15 yeasr - so needless to say, it was bad.

We have been dreading this for a long time now (as there has been countless scares) because of the siblings and how they will react - now starts the war of the Roses (no offense, The Roses). She was a definate matriarch in all senses of the word.

OK - off to make all the calls we need to to coordinate cousin stuff.

Heh, heh! We LOVED the War of the Roses! :thumbsup2

But we are sorry to hear of your loss, and will keep Suziemva in our thoughts and prayers too.

As far as excursions, we are doing a Duck Tour in St Maarten. We did something similar in Boston a while back. But this duck apparently has an on-board calypso band and free drinks. Or as Emeril would say, "let's kick it up a notch!" BAM!

The Roses

Pat - good luck with the moving stuff. By the way, my Mom "lost" me under the dashboard several times - She became the Queen of the "thrust out arm to the right" movement while traveling in the car. I can't believe that I used to just lay on the front seat as a baby. Seems just too weird now to think about doing that. BUT, she certainly wasn't driving 75 miles per hour on the interstates daily like I do with the kids, either.

My kids are going to be like, "Mom, we can't believe you used to actually put us in the car without our virtual reality headsets for entertainment - geesh, what cruel and unusual punishment you used to make us endure". ;)

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Went to see Mimi today. My two aunts were both there along with a very close family friend and Mimi's friend that lives in the building (she's a retired RN!!YEA!). I was VERY pleased by how she looked. Still not great but not death's doorstep. She's slowly starting to eat a little but still has no appetite. She's in a lot of pain and not quite herself, but she is up and out of her bed now. I must say it was very scary walking into her apartment not knowing how things really are. So, we wait until her appt next week and go from there.

CG - sorry to hear about your loss. I don't really know what else to say but I'm sending huge hugs your way. I hate dealing with some of my family....well, okay, my oldest brother, the bu**head! All the rest of us really get along.

I'm exhausted, but had a good day. We went and saw Chicken Little today for family time with Tori and she loved it! Heck, I liked it! Then to Mimi's for a nice long visit, then to dinner and games with friends. Yes, we went back to Glory Days for more wings! AAAAAHHHH!!! I ended up eating most of them since everyone else thought they were too spicy - except DH, he thought they were too sweet. So, I feel like one big chicken wing tonight!

Off to bed now! Thanks again, everyone! You guys are the best!

Just got back from Bunco. Came home with empty pockets but had fun as usual.

Pat- Hope your project goes well. This past fall our "weekend" project to put in new flooring turned into 6 weeks and a complete room makeover. I love it now but it almost cost us our marriage

CG- Sorry about your loss hope the fam. can all get along . Guess I am very lucky, when my Dad's Mom passed away, everthing was very smooth from beginning to end, I have a very tight extended family. After the willed things were dispersed, my Dad and Uncle picked out the things they wanted from her estate and then all the grandchildren simply made a list in order of priotity of the things they wanted, everyone got their top picks and the rest we simply worked out. This is the side of the family that is all cruising together, her absence will be the one sad note of the trip.

Suzie- Glad to hear your gram is improving. My Grandma I have left is the one that holds my mom's side of the family together, keeping us all informed about the others lives, I worry about that when she is gone.

My house is a wreck and even though its 11:00 got to clean up some before I got to bed.

GO STEELERS
