Just got back from in-laws for Easter and I know I said I was going to stay away until Monday, but a little birdie told me to ck out The Roses' post and I SHOUTED for joy! Sue, I'm SOOOOOOO glad you're better and SOOOOOO happy to welcome you back! Tom's right--it would NOT have been the same without you two!!

We have a couple Palos we'd absolutely LOVE to share with you, Mon 8:30 and Fri 6:00 (not great times, but there they are), and of course there's the DIS brunch on Monday--had you been planning to go to that before? Again, WELCOME BACK!

So between you guys and Partypat & her sis, we are whole again!!

We're glad to be back! Thanks for all the well wishes! And yes, we'd love to join you at Palo! I'd forgotten about the Monday brunch!


Anyway, the Hospitality Suite is ON!
The suite # is on the Yahoo site. The Pirate is in charge of getting some wine mailed to the ship. For the non-wine drinkers we will be offering the Wench's Famous Spiked Tropical Punch with Little Umbrellas. We will be hosting from 2:30ish until the lifeboat drill. This is just intended to be a time to put names and faces together and have a cold one before we all scatter to the sail-away party!

UGH! Can't sleep. Slept with the windows open Saturday night and now I'm sick! Coughing like a seal barks! Keeping poor Ed and Tori awake, no fun. Now it's raining and thunder and lightening! Keeping me awake! No good tv on at this hour....yuck.....gonna have to see the doc later....


Was the Monday Brunch confirmed? Did I miss that one?

The Roses-- So glad your back and is everyone invited or was there a sign up list or something. I was away for a while from the boards and didn't know if i missed it?

I have 10 days to finish packing, and get everything done I can't wait to get there but not sure how to fit everything in. I have a Dr's appt on weds, a pedicure on weds, and a haircut. Then i have to drive up an hour to get my grandma bring her back to my house that night as my aunt decided to go to Toronto! Which means grandma sleeps on the guest bed which houses all my piles of things to pack guess I'll be packing tuesday night!

Does anyone have a Palo reservation on Wednesday that they wouldn't mind swapping for Thursday?

So excited! The FEDEX system shows our tickets on their way to being delivered today!!!

Got about 4 hours of sleep but feeling pretty okay. Throat is very sore from coughing and my voice is so deep - sounds like I've been drinking bourbon and smoking! Tori is starting to cough now too! Might be a mother-daughter visit to the doc today! I'm hoping that just some cough med will do, so I may postpone for another day. This really stinks!

Love ALL the cartoons lately! Had to forward the thong one to my girlfriend from Texas. She cracks up so badly at those cartoons! Think it's because she can relate!!!!!

Hey, haven't heard from the Eggman and his wife lately. Guess he was too busy this weekend! We kind of need to do a roll call for all posters and lurkers. Who's out there these days?

Suzie , I hope you feel better soon. I would love to take a family picture with my Mom Dad and Grandmother someday. I saw my Grandma yesterday at my sisters and she is changing rapidly. I think since I have the summer off the girls and I will have to spend more time with her. I don't think I realized how precious time is until you see the ones you love aging so. My Dads side of the family is Greek Orthodox and they have the best perogies and pigs in the blankets, but I told grandma there is a place near her that has amazing perogies and we will have to go a few times this summer.

I have to say thou that my Dads side of the family has those Dick Clark genes , my Dad looks no where near 65 and his brothers and sister look amazing too. I'm adopted so I have no chance of getting that gene

All my sisters (5 of us in total) got together this weekend and I was able to raid everyone's closet. I found a dress for myself, a dress for each of my girls, as well as shoes for the girls. Everything comes from different "donors" so we'll just have to remember when it's time to return everything. Suzie, you won't have to smuggle me some lobster tails after all.

Two of them got together and "convinced" me that my hair needed colouring. I've never coloured my hair before so I was a bit nervous. There was a lot grey showing up. I'm only 37 and I have more grey than some of my older sisters. I'm not sure if the two drastic colours they used suit me or not. I'm probably just not used to it, that's all. The grey and brown were pretty drastic differences too I guess. My oldest (almost 15) says I look like a young chick now. That's a whole lot better than frumpy. (Another long story for another time).

Our docs are scheduled for delivery this Thurs. We leave this Friday so I really gotta say I'm nervous. Hopefully they will be early. It's hard to believe that it's only 4 days until we leave. After planning for 3 years, it's finally arrived. Now lets all just send some pixie dust to the couriers so they bring my docs early.

My son woke up with a fever this morning and a sinus something. If it is going to run through our house it better make it quick, I don't want to deal with this next week!!

Happy Monday, everyone!

What a weekend...my 16 yo cat who's otherwise very healthy and playful had surgery Friday to remove a malignant tumor the size of a large grape. It was in her left flank and you could feel all around it...weird. Anyway, they think it might be related to her immunization injection and if they can prove it with the histology, they might be able to get the manufacturer to pitch in for the surgery, which was yet another major bill for this month (taxes, estim taxes, prop taxes, car ins, and oh yeah, the cruise!). Anyway, half her side is shaved and she has this incision that's like 4 inches long with a drain and DH and I have been having to work together to care for it and give her the antibiotics. Apparently she has a pain patch, but she sure cries out when we have to clean the wound. I have to hold her tight. It's so heartbreaking but she never scratches, she's such a good girl. We have her quarantined from the dog and our other kitty, but she's tired of being cooped up. I've had her since she was 6 wks old and she's precious to me! She's already doing well and the drain and theoretical pain patch both get removed today. Thank God my DH is an animal person...I couldn't do this alone!

As far as the DIS brunch, I'm not sure any of that was confirmed. I don't have time right this minute to be a good girl and go back and ck posts, but I did actually put it on my schedule for a specific date & time, so maybe it was confirmed? CG took a call out for all interested parties and then was checking with DCL, I think. Didn't they cut us back to 14 max or something? I hope everyone who wants to can come. Maybe we can pull for a larger group when we get on board. What can you tell us, CG?

Barb, I'm pulling for your docs to get here early!! Here's some pixie dust for you!
I never colored my hair until 2 years ago because I thought it would be too "foofy". My hairdresser (sounds so fancy, lol) does a really good job of blending the highlights so I don't have big chunks. My yahoo family pic is from just before my first time coloring it. In fact, Suzie almost didn't recognize me at the airport because of it. Anyway, Barb, you'll get to love it I'm sure, and I bet you look fantastic! Can't wait to see it! And if your DS approves, you know you're a hottie!

Suzie, you rest up and get better!! Both of you! Or I'll have to come out there and whip you into shape myself! Seriously, take some Emergen-C or whatever you have to take to kick this sore throat, honey, and don't let it lag on and on! Just get better!

Inthemood, not your son too! C'mon people, we've got to band together here and pray for quick recoveries and good health!! Jonna, I hope he gets better right away!!

Oh, yeah, and Tom I never knew that about clicking on the number of posts in the thread. Very revealing! You can see that I don't venture far from the nest...I think have less than 5 posts outside of this thread! But the addiction has set in now, so I'm sure that will change after the cruise.

As for the Palo brunch that is being and has been bantered about for everyone - or for 14 of us. I have not heard back from DCL. I have put in a call to the woman who originally called me back to acknowledge the receipt of the fax and I am still waiting to hear. I do think we can probably work it out once on board if this fails.

Pat heard back and mketting, Michelle heard back and got the room for their parties.

I am back on DSL.

Off to pack on my day off - these are rare days to do this!

PALO BRUNCH - PRIVATE ROOM

I just spoke to DCL and the private room is ours on Sunday April 30th at 10:30 a.m. for 14-15 people. The 15th is not assured and is at the discretion of the Palo manager, Alesandro, at the time we board.


PLEASE RESPOND HERE WHO WOULD LIKE TO GO TO BRUNCH AT THIS TIME IN A GROUP.
There is no set list at this time - BUT - IF WE GO OVER THE 15, PREFERENCE WILL BE TO THOSE WHO ORIGINALLY ASKED TO BE INCLUDED. The reason I am doing it this way is that some of you already have brunch ressies who were on the original list.


After everyone has responded I will set the final list up over at Yahoo. I will notify everyone by PM that they are included in the list. (I feel like DCL Here)


All right - WOOHOOO! Brunch was definately my goal!

Back from the vet, drain is out, new pain patch, kitty looks great, healing well. Apparently we weren't s'posed to use hydrogen peroxide to clean it "because it stings". Well of course I know it stings, that's what we use to clean our own small cuts and scrapes. But I felt so bad when they told me that, since my kitty was obviously hurting so much when we did the cleaning. The vets now gave me a non-stinging disinfectant to use and kitty will get her stitches out on Monday. Whew!

B&RsMom, what a sweet photo message! I got goose bumps!

CG, for the record, I'd like to go to the brunch (as if you didn't know, lol) and will bring my cruise buddy. As before, we have a Palo dinner scheduled, but no brunch, so we'll step aside if there's anyone in the group with no Palo opportunities.
