4/24/2010 Med cruise: Friends, Romans, Countrymen lend me your Ears

Good plan, hopefully the person with the list won't move :lmao: We did this on the Podcast cruise and out of 80 or so participating cabins there were only a couple of moves.

Yeah no room for us yet too :confused3 Seems like a funny thing to say but fingers crossed you don't get an upgrade ;) As long as we make the ship we really don't care where we are :yay: we did a Cat 11 for 4 nights and it was great, loads of room for two of us.

Well, the anti-upgrade vibes did not work. We got upgraded to a category 10 so I have to put up with the dreaded split bathroom. I am already checking out where the closest public restrooms are on the ship. Showers I have covered in the spa. We are in room 1065. At least they did not upgrade us to a porthole. On our second cruise, we had a porthole and DH kept waking me up in the middle of the night, because he had seen another ship. The last straw however was when he woke me up at literally the crack of dawn one morning complaining that the sunrise was 10 minutes late. At this point I swore that he would never have an outside cabin again.

I am finally getting somewhere with my FE gifts!

For those is my FE group (#2) can you please let me know what your favorite winter Olympic sport is?

Thanks
Eleasa

Definitely figure skating for me.

I love this graphic. I think I will use this for my first ever magnet.

Hi everyone !! I'm new here :) Hubby and I are travelling on this exciting cruise... our first ever cruise - and needless to say we are more than excited !:thumbsup2 We got our room assignments this morning ~ booked an inside stateroom and got an inside stateroom - mid ship. I'm more than happy with this - I told my husband that I'd be happy to sleep in the broom closet and spend more money on excursions --- we're going to Europe on a Disney Cruise :woohoo: I can't think of anything more exciting !!!! I'm way too excited to sleep  Can someone help me find a room review ??
Thanks :)

:welcome: on board.

I had a good mail week this week. The components for the Fish Extender gifts, two out of three t shirts and my Xyron have all arrived this week. Now I can't wait to get started. Fortunately I have the weekend off. I am hoping that the last t shirt will arrive tomorrow. Then I will have had cruise related mail every day this week.

Hey lynne,

Did they take the iron out of the laundry rooms?

We were on the Magic back at the end of January, and there were irons in the laundry rooms. So unless they recently removed them, there will be irons. The only thing is they may not be clean, so you have to watch what you are ironing or clean off the iron first if you use it.

I did not know and, therefore, I misspoke. I thought we weren't to be trusted with hot things that could burn down the ship - like irons, candles, hanging lights. Is my memory correct - still no candles and hanging lights?

Correct - no candles. Don't know about the hanging lights. And, as for the irons - we're not allowed to have them in our rooms, but the ones in the laundry rooms are on countdown timers - so even if you leave them on and walk away - they shut off automatically after a few minutes. :thumbsup2 So, they do trust us with hot stuff - just on a very short leash :goodvibes

Don't worry Aunty Lynne, we still all love ya

I certainly can't be trusted with an Iron. That's my excuse anyway, because Becx does all the ironing. I am eternally grateful.

I love all your designs by the way. As you'll see, one of your creations is in my signature :)

Look forward to meeting you...and everyone else of course. It's going to be great spending some more quality time with Yvet and Emiel.

No irons on the ship for us to use; however, the Port Canaveral hotel will have irons!

...The Med cruise lanyards arrived at my house today - I would imagine the TA ones should be arriving at your house any day now. I think Krisann and I ordered the same week.

I googled "Disney" images - one of the first pages that came up was for www.fanpop - these are wallpapers (This is a US site, so use .com)
fanpop>movies>disney>images>wallpapers

For Corinna (this is from the above website).

I love this wallpaper. I think I just might be forced to put this on my computer.

How can we get a lanyard.....did you happen to order extra for us last minute additions?

Anyone staying post cruise? If so where are you staying....

I need to find time everyday to read this thread to catch up......you guys are very busy!

Thanks!

I ordered a bunch - and that is more than the number of cruisers we had at the time. (They just arrived today - I ordered 250 - couldn't remember, so I went and checked the invoice). Don't expect us to get anywhere near that number, but it is cheaper than buying 150. And no running out.

So, yes, lanyards w/name tags for you - just let me know your names (cabin #, too, so I can deliver if you don't make the Meet & Greet at 3:00).

We are staying at the Renaissance at the airport. The best about it is that they have shuttle from port to hotel for 10 Euros a person (5 for kids) and then free airport transportation. :thumbsup2

(I'm sorry-I've tried to search-but only come up with links to the whole thread and not my specific answer.)I just found out that I may be able to join this cruise with two of my friends and I am trying to make some quick flight decisions if we get the go ahead from our husbands... Iberia and US Air have workable rates and times for us-is one better than the other? Also, what is the earliest return flight time for this cruise? Hopefully, I'll return with news that we're in! Thanks in advance!

Hmmm a warm and fussy feeling came up when reading this....
This is going to be such a great cruise with the best people ever to cruise with....
Love yah guys and going to have a phonecall on saturday!!!!

I would like to volunteer to contribute to the cost of the lanyards...I wasn't involved from the beginning so I don't know the cost of them but I'll chip in!

I know it isn't funny to you probably, but this made me laugh out loud. That is the funniest thing! I could just imagine it....:rotfl::lmao:

I used to wonder how anyone would not want a porthole from an inside room, but after hearing your experience I have to realize that there may be some really good reasons out there! :rotfl:

I love figure skating too. (But I love the short track skating during the olympics as well!)

Ask away we are here to help in any way we can.

I know that people are leaving on somewhat early flights in the morning. I will let them post their flights and times. We opted to spend an extra night in Barcelona. I don't like the stress of having to get super early on the last day of my vacation. We did last time on the Transatlantic and it was not a fun experience. I also have 2 younger kids which makes it harder to get up and going early in the morning.

Just saw where you are from. There is someone who is on the Transatlantic from Lafayette, LA. I went to Comeaux High School. "It's a small world after all...."

Aboard new cruisers and potentially new cruisers!!

Mineu - sorry, I can't help you with flights other than to say we're flying British Airways through London. We're actually going to London for a few days prior to the cruise and then just flying through on the return. It was the only way I could find a flight back to the states on the 5th. Most flights from Barcelona to the East Coast depart in the morning. I was able to get a 1:30 flight through London. Then my connection, to NY, is at 5:30pm. Disney suggests that you don't schedule flight prior to 12:30. Good luck finding flights!
