Just some info about us Im Sandra 45 and from uk mum of 5 this is our first disney cruise and also our first ever cruise but we have travelled quite a bit have visited various places in italy including Rome, Pisa Milan and last year spent a week in sorrento so got to see pompei and herculaneum, we love Italy so this cruise really appealed to us

Hi no were are not bringing all 5 there will me and my DH and our DD14 and DS 12 in one cabin and my DD25 and her DH and her DD nearly 2 in another cabin but we do usually holiday all together , but one did not fancy a cruise and the other one is finishing her masters degree at university

I'm looking over the Roll Call - and again I had to laugh - carpenta is Mary & Joseph - they say they are from Vermont - are we sure the carpenter isn't from Nazareth? I wonder how many times they've been kidded about that one?

That is amusing, my grandparents on my mothers side are Mary and Joseph and her initials (first and middle name) are JC

Our oldest dd(20) can't come either, she is too busy with college. Makes me feel a little sad when one of my gang can't travel with me. So glad you are onboard and traveling with kids of similar ages!

Love the Med graphic. Lynnne you are great! Did anything ever happen with a combined logo for sweatshirts? It might be too late now to order , I don't know. This may be a stupid question but can someone make iron ons from the graphics and if we bring our own sweatshirts we can iron them on the ship.

We got our room assignments this morning ~ booked an inside stateroom and got an inside stateroom - mid ship. I'm more than happy with this - I told my husband that I'd be happy to sleep in the broom closet and spend more money on excursions --- we're going to Europe on a Disney Cruise I can't think of anything more exciting !!!! I'm way too excited to sleep Can someone help me find a room review ??

I think I forgot to mention we got a cat 10 (booked a 12 GTY) and we're in 2139 - back of the ship near the engines apparently but we shall see - may use that instead of an alarm clock on port days

There is a metal fish outside your cabin for DCL to leave you information - we are extending the space, so we call it a fish extender (FE).

You will hang a bag or other collection receptacle from the fish to receive gifts from other DIS cruisers.

For this cruise, 12 cabins will be "gifting" each other: I will buy/make 11 gifts so that I can give each of the other cabins in my Group one gift sometime during the cruise (there is no designated day for this - we are hoping that "luck" will work out and everyone won't distribute on the same day). The gift will be small and reasonably priced (we have port excursions to pay for) so that suitcases can go on the airplane without incurring overweight fees.

This gift (one per cabin, 11 in all) can be representative of your hometown/ state/ country or a port we are visiting, Disney, DCL, something you find amusing, entertaining, endearing, tasty ....

Is this making sense? Anyone got something different to add? or change?

...About Private Messages (PM) - this is a way to communicate with other people here without having to give out personal emails (especially helpful if you or the other person is new and you can't be sure if they are legitimately on the up and up). When you sign in, you will see if you have PMs waiting for you.

The PM feature is good for sending information that others may not need to read - items of a personal nature, just between 2 people, or facts you might not want everyone who has access to the internet to see (birthdates, reservation numbers, full names). What we post here is captured by web search engines.

So yes, both parties would have to have PM privileges here.

Thank you so much for a great explanation for a newbie to the board. I have never sailed Disney before, although I have been on the Big Red Boat. I have been on over 30 cruises on 8 different lines and am really looking forward to this new "Disney" experience.

I hear everyone talking about upgrades. Is that common with Disney? I booked cat 12 guaranty and got a category 8. It is very far front, but it is oceanview on deck 6, which is bigger and better than inside on deck 1. I had a real forward cabin on a 3 week cruise to South America. It was terrible. They dropped the anchor hours before we could get off and that process always woke us up and went on for so long that it was hard to get back to sleep. Often it was around 4:00 am. Hoping we don't have that experience.

No irons on the ship for us to use; however, the Port Canaveral hotel will have irons!

...The Med cruise lanyards arrived at my house today - I would imagine the TA ones should be arriving at your house any day now. I think Krisann and I ordered the same week.
