4/24/2010 Med cruise: Friends, Romans, Countrymen lend me your Ears

Hi April Med cruisers! I'm from the May 5th Med cruise, so I was just checking things out :goodvibes

I'm wondering, did anyone let DCL book your flights in and out of Barcelona? I did and they have us cutting it a pretty close on both embarkation and debarkation day. I called to ask about it, but they said there's nothing they can do. They did assure me they would "take care of everything," but it still makes me nervous. I'm wondering if anyone had a similar experience.

Have a wonderful cruise! :goodvibes

We did the cruise in 2007 and Disney booked our flights. They worked perfectly and we were off the ship and in the air by 10:45 A.M. the day we disembarked. We booked again through Disney because of our previous experience and cross our fingers this trip. They will hold the ship on departure if they book the flight and the flight is late. The cruise in 2007 was one of the best in logistics that we have had yet. I would not fret too much and worry over things you have no control over. Wishing you a wondereful cruise.

Thank you so much! This makes me feel a lot better! They have us coming in a little close on embarkation day and flying out at 10am on debarkation day, so I was a little nervous. It helps a lot to hear such a positive experience! Thanks again and have a fantastic cruise! :goodvibes

Hello all --

I still have 4 spots on my Villefranche private tour (May 3). It covers Nice (market of the old city), the medieval villages of Saint-Paul and Eze, as well as Monaco and Monte-Carlo.

I also have 3 spots left on my Rome tour (April 29).

PM me if you are interested, and I can provide you with more details. (Don't hate me...but adults only or older kids preferred.)

Brooklyn, I love the Journal you made for your daughter. As a primary grade teacher I loved to do stuff like that. You are so creative.

As for the baggage we booked through DCL and we are flying Delta. It is one free bag, second is $55 and if you are crazy enough for 3 bags it will cost you $200! I ended up putting all my FE and Disney decoration stuff into three cardboard boxes which we will take to the ship and none of it is stuff that is coming back home so can get rid of the boxes. Its a good thing we are not flying to FL. My hysband and I each have 2 suitcases.

Hi Lynne

What happened to the FE information on your web page? I was about to start putting everything together and I could not find it. Please help.

Debby

I was notified by the Moderator that someone complained about my putting people's room numbers in posts. :sad1: So I figured I should take it off the website too. I was saddened that they felt they couldn't just ask me/remind me not to put it in my posts.

I'll PM you with the appropriate info.

The station is close by. You can take a taxi to it and buy your tickets to Rome. It will be about a hour ride. This will be our second time taking the train to Rome.

Thanks for the info! Was hoping the train station was close enough to port to walk to it instead of taking a taxi. Can you tell me about how far it is?

Since computer time is expensive I thought I would do a jouranl on Microsoft word and then attach it to the email. That way I would not be using computer time writing my stuff. I hope it works.
.

That sounds like a great plan!

I made this journal for Brooklyn for the trip.

If you would like the original PDF to be emailed to ensure proper printing instead of printing through google docs just send me a PM.

Adorable, so creative! I love it!

What??? Please PM it to me too, I need it. Also, is it gone for the TA? I will need that one too :) I've been busy and didn't even notice it was gone.

It's about 4 blocks from where the cruise pier shuttle drops you off. There are step-by-step instructions on the internet (and with pictures on the Rome on Your Own page of my website). :goodvibes

I just sent PMs to both Med FE Groups.

The TA stuff is handled by Michelle - but I think Krisann has the posts for that - and it's listed on the Master Spread sheet for the TA.

Busy busy here, lots to do and just remembered I get a two day Disney trip this week :)

Hope everyone's plans are coming along. I love reading what everyone else is planning and doing.

We finally decided on Naples and went with a private tour so we can have plenty of time at Pompeii and Herculaneum. Afterwards heading to Sorrento for a private cooking class (family friendly).

Think we are set for plans and hoping to get the suitcases out this week since we leave for pre Trans Atlantic Disney part of the trip in 11 days :)

Happy thoughts to everyone!

Oh Lynne, in case I forgot, thanks for organizing the group brunch!

Oh Thanks Lynne,

I really didn't want to have to do a taxi (well that would be several taxis for me).

Our plan is get off and take earliest train we can get to Rome and we already have reserved seats coming back on express train.

Is the masterlist accurate for the FE for the TA? I know before that there was some talk or discrepancy and I hate to use it if it's not accurate.

Thanks!

Will read through soon. Just wanted to say howdy, we're back, and we're all sick.

But here's a picture of us on camels, after spending the night in the Sahara outside of the town of Merzouga.

Thanks for the PM. I don't understand not posting room numbers while doing the FE exchange :confused3

So sorry to hear you are sick, but better now than on the cruise  Wow looks like you had fun :cool1: I should catch up on your blog. I do hope you feel better soon.

We still don't have our docs - I'm hoping they come this week.

I've also ordered a new camera and can't wait to try it out :cool1:

I think you can leave the info on the master spreadsheet, that's something private and not on or from the boards.
All the info that was out here in the threads and in the spreadsheets is info given by the people themselves and everybody knew upfront that the info was posted here or in the spreadsheet so i don't see any problems...
But if a moderator says not to post it here in the threads you still can leave it in the spreadsheet.
Maybe you can remove the link to the spreadsheet and just give the link to people that have to pm you for the link. If you do it that way the spreadsheet becomes really personal and it's isn't public anymore.......

Maybe i'm totally wrong and is this not an option but just my 2 cents.

I agree with you and i think what you said made sense. I'm sorry too Lynne to hear about the complaint. I want to thank you again for taking the onus to organise all the information on the website. I have found it very helpful and informative. Thank you also for taking the time to organise FE and for PM ing me the details.
