This is what interests me but I want to spend more time shopping than they give you. Anyone know if you can get back to the port on your own or is this taking a big risk.

From what i understood is the city 6 or 8 miles from the port.
I think there is a train/metro that goes from the port into the city.

Dear All Trying to get organised here are our plans so far

23rd Arrive in Barcelona lunchtime, Check into hotel and get out sightseeing as soon as possible (never been to barcelona before)

24th maybe a bit more sightseeing and then head for port quite early 10:30 as this is our first ever cruise im sure that even check in will be exciting !!

26th Malta this is the only one not sure about , no excursion booked at present but having never been do not know if its ok to do on our own?

27th Tunis DCL tour Sidi Bou Said and Carthage

28th Naples as we did Pompei Sorrento and Capri and Herculaneum last year, we are going to do naples on our own visiting the museum with all the mosiacs and things from Pompei then do the hop on hop off bus tour and off couse sample the fabulous pizza.

29th Rome on our own, colloseum, vatican, spanish steps Trevi fountain and the pantheon , have done Rome before but have never taken the children so it will be nice to show them all the places we loved !!

30th Pisa just going to do pisa on our own its quite compact so would rather enjoy a leisurely day there than try and do Florence in one day.

2nd May Corsica on our own never been here but have heard lovely things about it so will enjoy a nice leisurely day and and some Corsican food.

5th May off the ship and straight to the airport for our Lunchtime flight

Well, given my extreme laziness, we're doing the DCL Carthage and Medina too.

We've never done a DCL excursion, so it'll be a first for us. We'll try not to cause an international incident, I promise.

They have been part of UK - should have signs in English - and they've got tourist and regular buses - I'd say go for it (depending on what you want to do).

Tunis is the one place I'm not daring enough to venture out without a tour.

Hi Lynne, the tags you posted looked correct but there is an extra K in the list - sorry to be picky

Also Pete and Walter are bringing an intern to help with all their gear - he's called Max. Would it be possible for you to do a tag with 'Max' as the name and 'Max The Intern' instead of a Dis name (hope you understand) - I think he'd like that No worries if you can't

Thanks for the suggestions on Tunis we are still sorting that out so I'll throw another question out there "Who are people using for private tours around Florence (once again I think we may abandon our DCL choice)? Any recommendations would be great. I have tried to find things online but have reached a point of exhaustion.
