4/15/2007 Anyone?

I've been on the DIS boards for a while, but don't normally frequent the DCL board. Just today I thought to look and see if there was any information I could use for our very first cruise, and I find this thread! My DH, DD (almost 5) and I, along with my in-laws. Then we'll be moving on to WDW for 3 days to celebrate my DD's 5th birthday!

So you can add us to the list of DISers on the cruise. It's our first cruise, and I'm not sure where we're staying the night before, so I won't guarantee we'll make the meet, but I'll try!

Mur!

Its great to see you have a DD thats going to be 5. My DD will be 5 right before our cruise. I'm hoping both my girls are able to find some partners in crime;)

:welcome: We're so glad you'll be joining us! You will love the cruise. There are a few 5 and 6 year olds who will be at our DIS meet. I'll add you to the list. We are also going to WDW for 3 days after the cruise. We're staying at OKW.

If you'd like to add your names and state, I'll add that to the list.

If any of the rest of you would like me to add your names or stateroom number, let me know.

We haven't heard from MikeS in a few months.:confused3 If you're out there, let us know if you are still planning to join us.

We now have a large group: :cheer2:

A Dis meet is where those of us on the DIS boards get together and meet in a central location. It's really nice to get to know some of your fellow passengers. It's especially great for the kids to meet one another. DD always makes friends at these meets. It's nice to know the parents before the kids go off and hang out. We've done this on other cruises as well. It's also nice to recognize other passengers and know you have something in common. It feels more like travelling with a large group of friends. It's also fun to put faces to the names of people on the boards!:thumbsup2

We are meeting at 2:30 in the Promenade lounge on deck 3 the first day. I hope everyone can make it.

:goodvibes Looking forward to it, nice to meet and make new friends. By the way I don't know if anyone herd Atlantis suppose to open a new waterpark and it suppose to be awesome named Aquaquest. Hopefully we'll be able to check it out.

We made our final payment last week (booked with AAA) When do documents usually come? I got some lime green wrist bands today at walmart :shamrock: ...they are huge though and probably won't last long on the kids. Flights are booked SWA.
We leave on the 11th offsite (but going to the parks) then after BWV for two nights

Have we planned a dis meet yet? I'm getting so excited!!!!! :cheer2: :yay:

I hope you can make it to the DISmeet. It will be fun to finally meet all of you!:cheer2:

I have heard about the new Atlantis waterpark, but I don't know anything about it. You should ask on the Forum. If someone has been there, they will love to share their experience!

It's nice to have that final payment in! Congrats!!!pixiedust: We booked with DVC points, so we don't have to worry about that this trip.

We leave on the 14th and will stay at the Residence Inn at the Port. We are also staying two nights after the cruise at WDW, but at OKW.

The DISmeet is at 2:30 in the Promenade Lounge on deck 3 on the 15th. The list of DISmembers is in one of my previous posts. We should all wear something lime green to recognize one another. I have to get to Walmart to pick up wristbands. I don't know if I can get DD and DH to wear them though!:rotfl:

For those of you who are Castaway Club members, tomorrow is our 90 day mark!!!!:yay: Have you decided what excursions you are going to book, or when you plan to dine at Palo? I am having trouble with those decisions. :confused3 I don't know what night I want to book Palo. I don't want to miss anythnig. We haven't done a 4 day, so I'm not sure what night I want to miss the regular dinner. DH doesn't want to do brunch, so that's out. He's not a big brunch eater. Our friends want to do dinner also, but haven't cruised DCL before, so they are leaving the planning up to us. I hope they aren't sorry!

As far as excursions, I am still working on that.

I read on another post that DCL has an excursion to the new waterpark at Atlantis. It's $120pp. It's not on the web site but it was on the navigators.

Hopefully we will be to the boat by 2:30,I look forward to meeting everyone. We booked with DCL so they will be taking care of our flight arrangements,I'm soo stressed that they will not put us on an early flight out.

I'm at a loss,I dont know what me and my family should do Nassau. This is our first cruise,so I'm not sure what it is we should do. I would love to see the Atlantis, but I would like to walk around Nassau as well. On CC my DD(8) wants my DH to snorkel with her,so that may be something they do there. Me I just want to lay in the sun:)

Well..... I think we're just about ready to go!!

Cruise paid for - check.
Palo ressies made - check.
Airline tickets reserved and paid for - check.
Reserve two nights after the cruise at WL - check.

We're going to go over to Atlantis on our own in Nassau, so we don't need any excursions.

The only thing left to do is figure out where to stay the night before the cruise (we're flying in Friday night). Since we get in late, we're staying at the MCO Hyatt on Friday (2 weeks ago it was sold out, this morning it was available), and go over to Universal on Saturday. Decisions, decisions, decisions......

I just booked Palo and parasailing for DD on CC! :cheer2:

I stupidly stayed up until 3 AM to get my choice of booking Palo & the site was down! :rotfl2: Boy do I feel stupid.:dance3: Now I'm exhausted. This morning I was able to book Palo for the second night. I still don't know if that's the best night since we don't know our dining rotation, but we'll deal with it.

Ed..

I read your post to my daugther and she said you forget to put at the end:

vacation of a lifetime - priceless!!! LOL

This will be our first cruise so we can't book any ressies yet. Both of our kids (teens) want to try the parasailing. We too are arriving Friday and trying to find a spot to stay..haven't figured it out yet.

Laurie,

I think I would probably get some argument from my DW and DS about the "vacation of a lifetime - priceless" part. They both think (and I tend to agree) that the 14 day Magic repositioning cruise in 2005 was the best vacation we've ever taken. I have never been on a vacation that went by so quickly!

<PHEW!> My stubborn-ness finally paid off ;) I'd been delaying and delaying booking my airfare on that "other" airline in hopes that the lower fare would open up on Southwest. It FINALLY did  NOW, I can travel on the days that I want ... the kids won't miss any additional time from school (well, any more than I'd planned on them missing to start with :rotfl: )

Now ... if I could just figure out where we're going to stay at WDW after the cruise when we meet up with MIL ... :rolleyes1

Ok, thought you all might enjoy laughing at me too. All of our previous 3 cruises have been 7-night cruises. My 7yo has been in club in each of those 3 cruises ... once in the 3-4 group and the rest in the 5-7. I was on the website this morning checking out the activities for the 5-7 group because I'm getting a little concerned that he's going to be bored with the same activities. As I was scanning I saw an event with Lilo and Stitch. I remembered that it was THAT activity that turned my name into MUD on our last cruise because I made him eat dinner with the family and he missed it

I came back here to the DIS and started looking at 4-day Navigators to see if that activity would be held on our upcoming cruise. I kind of got involved looking at the Navigators and checking out the activities, not just for him, but for the rest of us too. I got so into it and reading the Castaway Cay activities and realizing ... OOPS, no Stitch activity for the child yet again. I clicked on the little arrow expecting to see that dreaded "Welcome Home" page ... How SHOCKED was I that there was another whole day of activities listed :lmao: Guess I really am a creature of habit after all. You all might want to take turns reminding me that I DON'T have to pack after Castaway Cay and that I DON'T have to get off the ship the next morning :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

If we see your suitcases outside of your stateroom door on CC day, we'll know why!
