Newbie cruiser question, Is there still room for the High Tea?
On DCL it states no more reservations available?

Thank you

Some may open up online but if not you should have no problem reserving a day at Rockin Bar D after boarding the cruise.

nope - even many of us who could make reservations at 90 days did not get one - and I was on when it opened for booking :(

Krisann,

Same here! I have to ask, though...did they even have the option? Because when we made reservations/etc - the only two options were Brunch and Dinner.

I'm hoping that it'll open up later (maybe at the 75 day mark) or something. I seriously could not see how that would be sold out before the brunch, and at 12:01am 90 days out...and it still leaves me stunned.

I was able to book at 120 days out & it was an option & very available... I didn't reserve it though... not interested-- had I known it was such a hot reservation, I would have booked it for one of you to use!

High tea is a British tradition. On the ship it is served at 3 pm on sea days...don't know if it will be on all sea days on our trip or only some.

The menu is your choice of several teas....then you get scones with marmalade, clotted cream, etc., finger sandwiches, various desserts, and a trifle. The same desserts are available at the Cove Cafe. Cost is $5 per person + any additional tip you choose. They serve only a very small number of tables at each session--not sure why.

If you were not lucky enough to get an on line reservation in advance, you should be able to book it after boarding. My logic is that there are a lot of sea days, so there should be a lot of tea seatings on our cruise.

It's a nice mid day break...especially if you have late dinner. DO NOT book tea on a day when you are doing brunch or dinner at Palo. It's WAY too much food. Spread out your choices--we have 14 days to get it all in!

12:31 and I've got the rest of the excursions I needed to book for my parents at the 75 day mark. So, we're good to go. We didn't do much with Barcelona at this point because I figure we might venture out more on our own since we won't be so worried about missing the boat!

Also, we were able to get the tea for a group of 4 at the 90 day mark....but all of the 2's were gone by then. Also, at that point...there were no more 4's for Palo. I had to book two different reservations for two to lock something in for my parents (cause I could book their Palo at the 90 day mark as long as they were linked to someone in our cabin). So right now I have a ressie with DH and his MIL (my mom) and me with my Dad.

Do they care if the names don't match as long as it is within our same party (ie. If I show up instead of my mom, will that be ok and vice-versa?)

P.S. I did start packing today too (sort of). I am sorting clothes back into storage bins and am just putting anything I might plan to take suitcase so it doesn't end up buried in a storage container.

Are you platinum Tricia? Or is the 120 day mark gold? I get confused.....

A dumb question... What is a High Tea?:confused3

High tea is basically supper - meat, fish ... served around 6 pm.

Afternoon tea is served between lunch and usually late (8pm-ish) dinner. This is what Americans think of as "tea." That is what we'll be served.

The next post is not intended to step all over toes, but I just wanted to re-iterate my thoughts.

If you are tired of lanyard discussions, please skip down to the bold letters and make sure you have answered the questions.

Double checking your info on the website would be a big help, too.

Krisann,
Explain to me what you mean by being a part of the Lanyard team.

Here's what I thought when we started all this:

You will not have to sign up for FEs as a part of the team. I am not doing FE but am giving lanyards to fellow cruisers to add that touch of magic to their trips. I enjoyed having an attractive unifying marker to help connect with other dissers.

I just wanted an easier way to get the money together than trying to collect $2 from each person who wanted a lanyard. And some people might not have wanted to bother. I didn't sign up for one last cruise and was so sad when I got on the boat and didn't have one, especially when I went to the Meet & Greet and they all had one. Fortunately, someonw gave me one as an FE gift because they knew I wanted it.

Some people who are doing the lanyard team are using it as their FE gift (only or in addition to something else due to packing restrictions or other reasons).
Bottom line remains the same: You do not have to buy your lanyard and namw tag. You just need to let us know:

1. If you are absolutely sure you (or some part of your travel party) don't want a lanyard.

2. Which name tag you want - with or without Donald on the bottom over the ship & scroll.

3. Whether or not your names are spelled correctly on the website (which is not up to date since I am on vacation).

4. The name we should call you.

You do not have to submit this again if you have PMd me or posted it.

QOTD: Have you ever eaten lobster? Will you partake of it if it is on one of our special dinners?

I haven't had lobster since...Friday! Yes, I eat lobster. Yes, I will partake of it. And my husband will be the guy making the face of disgust in my general direction (actually, DD will be doing the same). They just don't understand the joys of seafood, but that just means more for those of us who do!

Happy Monday!

Anyone else having trouble retrieving reservations from the DCL site this morning?

I set up accounts for my traveling companions (we have three different reservation numbers) who are not CC members. This morning I am trying to retrieve their reservations to set up excursions and I am getting a 404 error page.

Anyone else having this very frustrating experience? It also appears the CC page is down for maintenance. Event though that shouldn't effect them, maybe that issue is evidence that Disney is working on the site and creating error?

UGH!

As per usual, the cruise line website was just being momentarily spastic. I was able to make all the reservations I needed. YAY!

Hi Anneke v/d Broek, where are you from??
Your name sound very very very Dutch......

I am glad to see others getting ready - I have actually started packing suitcases - am I the only one? Tell me I am not crazy :)
Krisann
Don't worrie at all.
I started packing somewhere in July or something.......:scared1:
I also unpacked but we did one afternoon a testpacking.
I needed to know if everything would fit in the suitcases and if the weight was okay or not. So we did a testpacking afternoon and it worked out perfect.

QOTD: Have you ever eaten lobster? Will you partake of it if it is on one of our special dinners?

I have eaten lobster a number of time and I might eat it depending what the other options are. My DW will take the lobster every time.
