Check out Lynne's website. There is a link on the first page and she has a link to info about the flower festival (and a bunch of other informative stuff, too)

Ah, yes...I should have looked at Lynn's page first. Thanks for the reminder.

I'll take your porthole! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: This will be my first time sailing without an outside view and I'm worried about how I'll cope. I'm cat 12 GTY...

I honestly never slept better. I am a very light sleeper but the gentle rocking and near complete darkness was wonderful!

We usually went out on Deck in both the am and pm to watch the sun and I did keep the tv remote right next to my bed so after Mickey called to wake us up each day I would turn the channel on that was the live feed from the front of the ship so you coudl see the weather and ports on those days too.

Oh! Just typing abou it all makes me ready to go! :)

We are in the same boat...Southwest from philly friday night...(last flight of the eve) ....always the cheapest..especially when you consider baggage fees... Yay 2 free bags!

What time is your flight out if Philly? We are on the 7:15 Friday night.:)

Are you guys sure that Aerlingus lets one bag on free for the first leg? According to the website we have to pay €18 per bag for European flights. No free bags.:scared1: I know we would have one free bag on the US portion of the flight. Does it say what baggage you are allowed on the tickets once you buy them?

Dizdadof2 and I are both looking at booking this and saving another €18 per bag may tip the scales.:thumbsup2

Once I paid and confirmed my flight, My reciept showed us both with one bag checked, and a dollar (sorry Euro!) amount charged of $0.00. So apparently if flying all the way through to US it is okay that your layover is still in Europe.

There were different fees for international then staying in Europe (whatever that is called!) flights.

HTH!

aww, shucks! We usually fly out of PHL too but because the DH is working in DC now and he has to work on Friday we are flying out of BWI this time. Southwest has a new terminal there so at least the prices have come down to at least as good as PHL most of time.

We hope to fly out at 5:50pm, still have to buy those tickets.

Where are you guys stayiing overnight? We are at Country Inn and Suites. We really liked it last time.

Can't wait when I talk about it like this and don't think about all I have to do before we leave:scared1:

Steven wanted me to tell you that when his eyes are closed it is pitch black as well. :rotfl2: I was a very light sleeper and got up frequently during the night until 5 years ago when we purchased a Phillip Stein watch. Now with wearing the watch 24/7 I sleep through the night no problem.

We have stayed at the Crowne Plaza the past several times as it is 1 mile outside of MCO airport with free shuttle. So we will take shuttle back to airport early Saturday to board the transportation to the port. There are alot of disers staying at the Country Inn they seem to have gotten a good rack rate via priceline.com. I think it was like $61 with tax and I believe this was in Port Canaveral.:goodvibes

Brooklyn, I had to renew my passport, too, as it expired less than six months after we disembark. Warning to all: Try to preregister fpor your cruise NOW. You can find out then if you need to do something like renew a passport. Your US passport expiration must be AFTER 10/24/10. (Not sure about other countries...)
I am hopelessly behind... I was off for a week and you guys posted over 50 PAGES of threads!!! Looking forward to FE, lanyards, SM and more...

Elian/no DIS ID, but already a friend of Raine's through email!

I mailed mine in 2 weeks ago but my mother still has not gone for her pictures. She is driving me nuts. Mine expires Oct 3rd and hers the 10th....UGH!

Okay, so that's good info.

Do we have a contingency plan for last minute Port upgrades and all of us GTYer's still waiting? With such an undersold cruise (so far anyway) there are sure to be last minute changes. Will we have a cabin designated to post a final list on in case someone misses the initial meet or whatever or can't find a fellow Disser to ask?

speaking of FE, the girl who made my first one for our last cruise is making us a new one since we are ditching the kiddos this time, we only needed two pockets. She does a fabulous job if anyone wants more info just pm me.

We were going to go over stateroom changes at the 3:00 meet on the 1st day. There was also mention of some people having dry erase boards on their staterooms just for DIS. I am one who said they will have a board with changes posted.

Hi All!
I actually booked this cruise way back on the first day it became available and participated on these boards for a while before life got too busy. I lurked off and on over the past year, but now that we're actually getting close, I just wanted to sign back on and say hi....hope to meet up with you all on the cruise too. It would also be nice to have my kids make some new friends as well!

DH and I from the Philly area, kids are DD7, DD5 and DS3. We're in a category #3 (our first suite!!) and are so excited for this cruise, but REALLY wishing we could take advantage of the kids-sail-free on the BTB Med!! Not enough vacation time for the kids or us!!

Can't wait to meet you all!

We are sailing Cat11GTY, I specifically asked our TA to request no pixie dust upgrades for us as I couldn't imagine being upgraded to a veranda maybe just a window and I am not interested in a porthole at all.

We sailed in an 11 last cruise and loved it. We were on Deck 7 which was so perfect for us.

with my luck we will be upgraded to a 9 or 10 and move down to Deck 2 or something. Nothing wrong with Deck 2 of course, just not where I want to be!

I'll have to come take a peek at how the veranda set live! I may never get there.:rotfl:

We were originally booked in cat 10 cabins on deck 7. We had those rooms on our first family cruise and loved the location as well as the split bathroom on the cat 10. We changed the cabins because we were offered an excellent cast member discount (DH is a cast member) which wound up saving us money and getting us the upgrade. DH has always wanted to try a verandah, but we've never been able to afford it. I'm looking forward to it, especially the extra space. You're welcome to come take a look! I'm just hoping we'll know our cabin #s before we leave!

We had cat 10s on deck 2 for the PC cruise, and although I wasn't thrilled about the location, it wasn't that bad!

I'm pretty sure that you still get one bag free because it's just a PART of a transcontinental booking.

Are you all set for hotel stay prior to the cruise? 9 weeks away

We're in Delaware cty. Leaving Sat am using Disney-booked air....little nervous about leaving phila on the same day, but at least it's Disney's responsibility to get us there!!

Looking forward to meeting you!

We had an inside room to Alaska a couple of years ago and the only thing I didn't like was waking up in complete darkness. Then I discovered the bridge cam channel! I'd leave it on with the sound off. Its just like a porthole, but square! :thumbsup2

About the train from Cadiz to Seville...any concerns about delays or being on time? Are they reliable and on time? I'm more concerned about coming back and getting back on the ship without it leaving us behind. About how many stops does it make between Cadiz and Seville?

We are scheduled on the DCL excursion and may consider taking the train on our own. The only reason I would consider it (with our family of small ones) is that we don't have to be back on the Magic until 10:30 PM. Plenty of time to get back...
