Anyone get their cabin assignments yet? Were 12 GTY and hoping for this week. Are there a lot of 12 GTY out there?

Navigator Verandas are Cat 7. Since husband I did a Nav Veranda for our honeymoon we have been spoiled.

And since everyone is talking about where they are going afterwards. DH and I are going to Germany. We are actually getting of the boat on Friday.:scared1: He has always wanted to see Neuschwanstein!:woohoo:

If you guys want to be included in the free lanyards and the corresponding recognition by us, please let us know by posting whatever information you are okay with sharing: first names, cabin # (or GTY, like so many), Main or Late dining, hometown, special days during cruise (anniversary, birthday).

For my purposes, I would like to make your name tag the way you like it: choose between with or without Donald. My signature box (below) shows the with Donald version. You can imagine without Donald.

We'll be handing out the lanyards at the Terminal (and in Port Canaveral the night before at a Cruise Eve meet) and at the introductory Meet & Greet at 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge just before the Life Boat Drill (so you know it has to be short). The Meet and Greet is just that - no activities, just trying to put faces with names and handing out mini-Navigators (a brochure just for us DISboarders with group activities, fellow cruiser names, etc).

FYI (especially those who are not so great with mixers): The Promenade Lounge is an open area (with a bar against a wall) that is used by DCL for games during the day, family dances between dinners, all types of gatherings. You won't feel like you are walking into a closed room, so you can make an escape easily. You don't have to stay from 3:00 - 3:45, just drop by and make contact with somebody.

HMMMM I will have to think about that. Steven did you get my pm?

Yes, I did. BTW ... I was wondering if you were going to be making any LARGE sign boards, for when the two of us graze upon (oooops, gaze upon) the Cougars, from our perch within Outlook Bar. You know, a rigid signboard, measuring about 15" x 15" ... we'd need 10 boards, numbered consecutively (1-10, graphics are optional). I'm just thinking it might be an easy way for us to communicate with the cougars below us when they are walking the plains (pool deck) below us.

No I did not,::sad1: I have this un-natural fear of falling 10 decks into the cold Atlantic waters. And while I can swim that just sounds like a bad thing.

SOOO:idea: I thought maybe just two boards. Both with the number 10 on it.
A. We would be safer
B. We could hide our faces behind them while we TALK about them. (verbal Scoring method)
C. If we need to get there attention we can always whistle, throw ice, banannas, Chipmunks or something.

I thought the DIS'ers would appreciate this:
Dr. Dave just bought his wedding ring, and on the inside, it's engraved with our initials plus the phrase: "To Infinity and Beyond!" :)

Very sweet!

You may already have it, but I highly recommend grabbing a copy of Rick Steves Italy, it will take you through the sights & the transportation transfers.

I checked out the Rick Steves Spain and Portugal DVD and the section on Seville shows the Feria de Abril!

Goofy of course is my favorite character. When I retired from teaching ,the children- (first graders) asked me what I was going to do- I replied that I was going to be Goofy's helper.
So cute!

We are actually getting of the boat on Friday.

Is DCL aware of your plan? I mentioned it the other day and they said it wasn't an option. :confused3 If the 9:20 flight was going to be a problem, dh said we'd just get off the ship on Friday so I mentioned that option since they kept suggesting that I change my flight plans. I don't see why it would be a problem. People do get on and off at all the ports. It's funny because every CM says something different.

Sounds great! Germany will be fun!

--Good point. Then again, we could always discuss the voting over a few cold ones. If we disagree ... consume more cold beverages, until we mutually agree on the issuance of a perfect 10!
:woohoo: :3dglasses

All cougar-related activities must be cleared through the lead cougar:

I plead the FIFTH ... er, uh, rather, a 6-pack! Really, this seems to be sexist! :cool1: Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Are you keeping your current flight?? I am a little worried now that DCL will not let us off to catch our plane.

:scared1: Oh, DW (Donna) is NOT going to be happy if she finds out someone was referring to TINK as a mere character! I believe it would be politically correct to refer to TINK as an ACTRESS!

Think about it this ...
1) Disney characters can be seen at WDW, Disneyland, and / or on the DCL ships.
2) You see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy (etc) ... but do you EVER see Tinkerbell in person?

Then there is this ...
3) Disney actors and actresses have indeed "graced" the Disney Parks and Cruise Ships ... but are rarely seen, unless performing for guests.
4) Have you ever seen TINK walking / flying about the parks or ship(s) ... unless she was performing?

The only LOGICAL conclusion would be that TINK is an actress! :teacher:

SDLONG, actually you can see Tink in person and get her autograph. Over in Toon town in Walt Disney World is the fairy room. You can meet different characters from the new Tink movies

Actually yes they are. In fact we called back and asked several cast members before we finalized our plans because like you said you can get a different answer from different people. All of them said we could. (They couldn't understand why we would....) Anyway we had them put a special note on our reservation and we are suppose to go right to Guest Services as soon as we get onboard so that we can get it all arranged.:yay:

somebody.

Auntlynne, thanks for the invite. Yes I would enjoy the laynards. Here is the information requested:
Names: Shawn & Kelly
Dinning: Main
Stateroom: 12GTY
Hometown: Michigan
Celebrating: Shawn's MBA Graduation
laynards without Donald please...sorry Donald, your time will come on the Disney Dream.

I'll plan to meet the group in the Cruise terminal prior to embarkation.

Could someone PM me where I can purchase one. I was on ebay and contacted one person there and she never answered me back. thanks

I feel very behind when reading this. Perhaps it will motivate me, maybe not lol.

I do have the FE stuff done but with my household stuff in 3 different states between two houses, two apartments and two storage units and the builder telling us two more weeks on our new house I just want to avoid reality a little longer.

In any case, sign me up for your workshop please.

Also thinking maybe we were on the same cruise in October. We took one last minute on the Magic, a Western sometime before Halloween and I think I remember you talking about coming and working on your book :)

Don't feel behind - I over plan - and do things early - it drives my hubby crazy - he is glad right now he is not here :)

I ordered mine from Gradysmom on ebay - even sent questions and she was quick in answering me. I have selected all my heads and colors I was impressed with her and she has 100% rating.

Hi Woody,
We haven't bought tickets yet (and might not until the day of)
I've never been on a train that checked your luggage weight (including the high speed one we took in France this past Oct) so I don't think they will actually check this. Have you ever been on a train that weighed your luggage?
Generally, no.

On the EuroStar, we had to go through security like at an airport (metal detectors and x-ray). They might have selectively pulled out people who had way too much stuff to weigh luggage. This was in 2008.

I haven't tried trains in Spain yet.

Woody:
Is your young friend in your cabin or one nearby? I am thinking of door magnets--easy ones--pictures with craft magnets on the back. Would it be better to put them in your FE or on his (your) door?
Jan, in our FE would be best. I'll make sure he gets them. Thanks.

Woody
