My DD is 4 1/2, and she is excited to do "all" the rides this year. Is she going to be big enough to do Matterhorn, BTMRR, Space Mountain, and Splash? TIA!
It depends on how tall she is. The Matterhorn has a minimum height requirement of 35 inches, while Space, Splash, and BTMRR have a minimum height requirement of 40 inches. Also for Splash, you have to be 8 to ride without a "responsible person". So somebody's got to ride with her.
I'm not sure how tall she is...but she's tall for her age so she should be good to go.
On the other hand, are all those rides suitable for a 4 1/2 yr. old? I don't want to freak her out or anything. Maybe if I start w/ the tamest ride and work our way up?
If she thinks she can ride them all she probably can. The Disney rides really aren't that scary. My four-year-old didn't want to ride Tower a second time, but he didn't totally freak-out or anything. He also shut his eyes on Haunted Mansion. He said, "I know its just pretend, but I'm going to keep my eyes closed O.K.?" He's so cute.
Thanks for the link! I didn't realize there was almost the same thread already going around, lol.
I will let my DD decide which ones she's ready for when she actually SEES them up close. She road some coasters and such this year at our carnival so she thinks she's ready for them all, lol.
They are going to check her size at the bigger rides, so you might want to get her height checked beforehand that way you know if she's not going to be able to do a ride. You can check the disneyland website, and the rides section for each ride lists min height. I would suggest doing that, so she does not get her hopes up to get to ride a ride then be turned away.
Last year I took my 3 1/2 yr DS on all the 40" rides. The Matterhorn was his favorite ride in the whole park, and except for Space Mountain (which did freak him out) he really enjoyed all of them. BTMRR had him a little worried on the first ride, but then once it was over he said "That was scary- I could ride it all day!".
