We go to Disney every year, but usually the end of Aug./beginning of Sept. This year we had an extra trip planned (actually supposed to be there this week), but I had to have emergency surgery and we had to postpone. We now have tentatively scheduled for May 14th-19th. Any insight on what it's like that time of year. I was prepared for the crazy Easter crowds, but now won't have to deal with them, but wondering what crowds/weather etc are like the 3rd week of May. The 13th is Mother's Day, does that increase crowds?

Low of 75, high of 86. 30% chance of rain somewhere within a 50 mile radius. 80% humidity.

Crowd level 7/10. MK will be the busiest day on mother's day but mother's day won't really increase crowds

When we went in 2015, we were there May 16-22 (third week). If I remember correctly there was a chance of rain pretty much every day, but I can only recall rain happening once or twice while we were at the parks (a super short rain one afternoon and once overnight). The temperatures were mid 70s-mid 80s and I honestly couldn't tell you how humid it was. Since I live in the south right now, it doesn't really get to me as I am used to it. My husband was sweating, but the girls didn't complain. Not sure if that gives you an idea. I wore sundresses everyday and felt fine. The crowds weren't too bad in my opinion. We had good luck with fastpasses and I want to say the longest we waited for a ride was maybe 50 minutes. Usually the lines were closer to 30-40 minutes. We made it to the last day of EPCOT's Flower and Garden Festival. We loved all of the flowers and topiaries. They made for great pictures. We also enjoyed trying some of the dishes available at the food booths. It is a great time of year to visit. Not oppressively hot or crowded yet. For the past year it seems like the slow times have not been as slow as they once were, so I am not sure if that will change the crowds for that time frame this year as well. We would love to go mid May again, but now we have kids in jr high and it doesn't seem as easy to pull them out of school as it did when they were in elementary school.

I go pretty much every year at roughly those same times (Labor Day/mid-May) and in my experience:

May definitely feels cooler to me. This could be because it's at the beginning of the summer rather than the end-we live in south Louisiana and I'm usually over it by September. I've also experienced fewer washout monsoon rains in May, 2009 excepted.

My trip has never been affected by a hurricane (in Orlando, at home or along my drive route) in May.

Food and Wine is better than Flower and Garden IMHO.

May has no Halloween parties to mess with my MK evenings. In September the few nights without a party are usually crazy crowded.

In the past September has been slower but who knows these days.

I'll be there 5/20-26 this year, a little later than norm, and I'm a tad worried about the crowds.

Great, thank you for all the replies. We're very excited to hopefully be able to go in May!
