Son has expressed some interest in this. He has a DS from a few years back. Are they still making games for the older models. I hate that the old games cannot be played in the new system, because the system is useless without a couple of games to get started on.

Any BF deals out there?

You can play old (regular DS) games on the 3DS.

Do you ever go to slickdeals? If there is a deal on BF there will be some threads about it on that site.

Yes, you can still play any DS game on it, you just can't play gameboy games on it.

I would opt for the 3ds XL.

I have a 3DS XL. I don't really like the 3D because it is hard for me to see. My husband wanted to get the 3D version rather than saving a few buck on the non-3D because they no longer, or shortly will stop, making games that are compatible with the non-3D version. Fortunately you can turn the 3D off. All the DS games work with it. We got it a few months ago so I have not been looking at bundles or anything however I did notice in Best Buy this weekend the 3DS XL was $20 off. We also hit a buy 2 get 1 free sale on games at Bust Buy a few weeks ago. I buy used games at Game Stop but the DS games do not come with the case or instructions. That does not bother me but my husband wants to have that stuff so he does not buy used DS games there.

Hope to get a good BF deal on this. I read that Nintendo is bundling a 3DS with a Mario game built in so you have something to start with.
