Has anyone stayed in one? The layout looks really nice as it has an extra bedroom with 2 twins compared to the 2BR villa we stayed in there. The 3rd bedroom is like it's own suite/lockoff w/ kitchenette and balcony. It is so hard to decide -- DVC in a 1BR or a 3BR at Grande Vista where we could bring my Mom and have plenty of space. Just wondering thoughts...

Personally i have never stayed at either, however if you are looking for more room to spread out and for your mother, the 3-bedroom sounds like the way to go!!

I liked the space that a 3BR Grande Vista unit gave us for our 2007 trip, but thought that the arrangement was a little odd. You're right that the third bedroom is a lock-off and that's pretty convenient but for the unit that we were in the third bedroom opened up into the second bedroom rather than a common room and I thought that might be uncomfortable for some, necessitating people from BR#3 to go out their front door and back into the main unit by THAT front door. However, I think that there are other configurations other than the one we were in and those might be better.

The 1BR DVC unit that we've stayed in at Saratoga Springs was plenty big enough for two or three people but with the sofabed pulled out there isn't much open space in the livingroom.

So if you're party is larger than three I'd really suggest the Grande Vista choice.

We stay at Grand Vista in a 3 BR every year. We've always had one that has the lock-out unit opening up into the dining/living area. Love it!

We stayed in a true three bedroom in one of the new buildings (I think 78) in January 2008. You entered the unit and a bedroom was off the foyer to the left with two full size beds. There is also a full bath by the bedroom off the foyer. The foyer walked into the kitchen. The second bedroom with two full size beds and en-suite bath was to the right off the dining room. This BR had its own balcony. The master suite was off the living area. The living area and master suite shared a second balcony.

Definitely a nice set-up for a mixed family group. Adequate privacy, but still one unit. We were on the 5th floor and overlooked and had a view of the lake and lighthouse. We have stayed in a 2 BR at Saratoga Springs. The decor of Grande Vista reminded me a bit of Saratoga.

The unit was huge, and this resort has exceptional service. We loved it! I hope you have a wonderful trip!

We are at the Marriott Grande Vista now. We check out tomorrow. We have a 3 bedroom, but we have the studio lock-off. My sister and bil have the 2 bedroom with full kitchen, two bedrooms, washer/dryer and screened in porch. Our lockoff studio has a separate entrance from the shared foyer and there is no door in-between. I like this better, the keys open up both doors, and we liked having the privacy of the studio. The grounds are hugh and a rental car is a must. We only went to the pool in the AM on Tuesday.
We went to the Disney parks each day. We had rain only on Tuesday afternoon.
I have stayed at a DVC Grand Villa at OKW and it was good, but with two couples travelling together, I liked having the lock-off, and sharing the kitchen, washer/dryer and screened in porch.

We've stayed in the 3BR almost every year with my family and the lockout def. offers privacy but they do have other arrangements other than the 3rd bedroom going into the foyer or the 2nd bedroom. They are huge and gorgeous, DEF the way to go!
