Sunday 20th May
As the weather channel had said the would rain from 11am we got up quickly and headed to Stanley Park again via a quick stop for breakfast sharing a choc chip muffin and then rented 2 mountain bikes so that we could cycle around the edge of the park. We stopped here and there to look at the different sites and to take photos but the best bit was getting my first look at the Disney Wonder in the distance. About half way round we stopped and had some marble cake i'd got earlier and then continued on the loop. I'm glad we did this today rather than yesterday as the park was pretty empty compared to the day before.
Just as we completed the loop the rain that had just started started to get heavier so instead of going into the interior of the park we returned the bikes, it was pretty much dead on 11am. We freshed up at the hotel and walked over to Gastown where we had lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory. We started with the included salad but I upgraded to the ceasar and then Mike had the seafood linguni and I had chicken parmigiana ending with the included ice cream. We also had the bread which came as a whole warm loaf which you cut yourself. I had my food with a lovely lemon drop martini.
When we left the rain was absolutley bucketing down, so much for light showers. We had quick look around Gastown, spotting the Wonder again, and looking in a Inuit gallery but after that we just headed back to the hotel via a shop and starbucks stop as it was far to wet and everything we would have done was outside and didn't want to spend money on an inside activity just for the sake of it.
It continued to pour down all afternoon so we just stayed in our room watching TV but I didn't care as tomorrow we would be boarding the Wonder.
