Always dangerous to comment to posts like this because oftentimes any comment whatsoever sounds obnoxious. Nevertheless, I will say that I do find the cost worth the experience. I am a person who enjoys my time in the cabin while on a cruise. I know that is much different from likely most people who feel their cabin is just a place to sleep after an exhausting day of port activities and/or ship activities. I prefer to relax in our cabin with our kids for multiple hours during the day. In addition, I like to stay up late reading or watching television. So, the cabin itself really does become my home for the week. The Royal suites do make that more possible with a full size fridge, a microwave oven, a Jura coffee maker, a dining room table, etc. In addition, I just love having my own enclosed steam shower in the bathroom and the hot tub on the balcony. So, although the cost has escalated in recent years and we do other trips besides
DCL, I do think the Royal does offer a unique experience.
Again, I hope this does not come across as snobby. I guess I only write it to emphasize to those who might consider that cabin in the future, that the Royal is quite a nice experience. Not a bargain, certainly money that could be spent elsewhere more effectively, but a nice time nevertheless.
