Ok, I'm used to seeing some steep prices on the DCL page...but this one actually made my eyes bug out a bit.

7 night Eastern Carribbean Concierge Royal Suite with Verandah.

This is not in my reality. I bet those people never, ever leave their room!!!

You would be surprised to find out how many people there are in this world that don't bat an eye at spending this kind of dough on a trip. I'm happy I can afford to go at all.

If we ever had that much to spend, I don't think I would ever leave the room!

That's summer $. Fall $, Fantasy, 2A2K, Cat R, bargain $ of 18K.

I recall the $ difference between a T and an R used to be 3-4K.
They have raised $ IMO. I guess those folks in the cat R's are using more water than they thought. Or hot tub maintenance is more than anticipated. :lmao:

Of course the $ is what the market will bear.

I also see these port upgrades are getting more pricy for any category over years past.

At least these prices are stable till sail date. Very little fluctuation lately.

Suite :goodvibes

To give you some perspective, I booked the Roy Suite on the Magic for a seven night Southern Caribbean in October 2014 for just over $9k.

Hopefully they won't make you pay for the drydock in the future though. :lmao:

The Royal's on the new ships ROCK!!!
I got it for $6k 2a2k on a 3 night Dream Dec.
Honestly my favorite part of the whole cruise was sitting in the hot tub chatting away for a hour on a chilly night.

Well that explains the price increases for these cabins.
Everyone sits in these tubs with the heaters cranked and the ship therefore can't go as fast. You guys are sucking all the power. :lmao:

Thanks a lot. :rotfl2:

But thanks for potentially subsidizing may fare though. ;)

Always dangerous to comment to posts like this because oftentimes any comment whatsoever sounds obnoxious. Nevertheless, I will say that I do find the cost worth the experience. I am a person who enjoys my time in the cabin while on a cruise. I know that is much different from likely most people who feel their cabin is just a place to sleep after an exhausting day of port activities and/or ship activities. I prefer to relax in our cabin with our kids for multiple hours during the day. In addition, I like to stay up late reading or watching television. So, the cabin itself really does become my home for the week. The Royal suites do make that more possible with a full size fridge, a microwave oven, a Jura coffee maker, a dining room table, etc. In addition, I just love having my own enclosed steam shower in the bathroom and the hot tub on the balcony. So, although the cost has escalated in recent years and we do other trips besides DCL, I do think the Royal does offer a unique experience.

Again, I hope this does not come across as snobby. I guess I only write it to emphasize to those who might consider that cabin in the future, that the Royal is quite a nice experience. Not a bargain, certainly money that could be spent elsewhere more effectively, but a nice time nevertheless.
