It is 30 days until DH, DD (7) and I celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary at the Poly. I cannot wait! I am constantly checking the boards, my packing list, our reservations, ME info, etc, etc. DD has no idea about our trip and DH and I are about to burst from the excitement! Just tonight we figured out the plans for our anniversary cake (which we will enjoy at Kona and then ALL WEEK LONG... Yippee)!:yay:
ANYWAY... I can't wait to walk in the door and hear my first "Aloha"! I have wanted to stay at the Poly since my first visit to WDW in 1979! I've researched tikiman and asked questions here on the boards... but what don't I know? What little Poly secrets would enhance my trip? So Poly experts.... I beg you to share with me your hidden treasures, secret spots, cocktail suggestions, ... anything to help a girl out! These next 30 days are going to kill me!

Congrats!!! We leave in 11 days to finally celebrate our 32nd anniversary.
One night take a walk along the beach with your DD in between the two of you...and then the one night let her enjoy the Neverland Club...then take the same walk with your DH...we'll leave you lots of pixie dust!!!:wizard:

When our DDs were young like yours, they loved the GCH...one of our favorite pics is of my parents and them sitting in foliage, giggling in the center of the lobby.

I have no tips because our first to the Poly is coming up!

I just wanted to say, I hope you have a magical trip :tinker:

We sat in the lounge one night having spring rolls, pina coladas and chicken nuggets. My kids each got their caricature done and we watched Wishes from the lounge window. I love the Poly- enjoy your trip!

My secret isn't fun, but rather practical. Since you're going during the rainy season learn to cut through the longhouses if you get caught in a storm.

Other than that enjoy a Lava Flow at the pool, get up early and grab a coffee from the Kona Island Cafe take it to the beach and enjoy the solitude, roam the grounds during dusk when the tiki's are lit, and enjoy the sounds, smells and alohas!

Have a great trip! We celebrated our 10 yr anniversary at the Polynesian three yrs ago. It was quite memorable:cloud9:

hey lilosmom my family will be at the poly from the 19-26th also celebrating our 10 anniversary this year. We love the poly and have gone since my oldest(14)DS was a baby, we also have DS(9) and a DS who will be turning 6 this trip. Enjoy the resort with your family and get some alone strolls on the beach with you hubby. Sunset on the beach is just like an island resort soooo romantic.

Definetely try to get a room with a balcony. That way when your dd is asleep you and your dh can enjoy some nice tropical themed quiet time. Take advantage of the resort activities that are offered for your dd. Definetely make a reservation for her at the neverland club one night and enjoy some quiet time, just the two of you. We were concerned leaving our 3 ds there but when we went to pick them up they didnt want to leave!! Take the boat back from the MK at night. Its peaceful and the views at night are awesome. Rent a pontoon boat for all 3 of you and enjoy a picnic lunch on bay lake. We did this once and it was awesome. Have a great stay.
