3 Years in the Making: Our return to WDW...with diapers! SAD NEWS 7/1 page 41

I like them all but these are my favorites. :goodvibes

With all those people I was worried that I would plant my knee wrong. It is is not the best and I had it taped but I was always worried that I would trip over someone or be tripped. Thankfully neither happened.

Thanks! Yeah, I never ran over anyone either. I was thanking goodness that I decided against bringing Seth in the stroller. I would've been so stressed out!

I'm so excited for you that you did that 5k since we were doing C25k at the same time this summer. I ended up going back to swimming, running just isn't my thing, but if I had a race at Disney to train for, maybe I could keep it up - LOL!

Love the Photopass pictures!

Thanks! I love swimming too but I just don't have the means to do it very often. There's a big aquatic center near my office but I couldn't do it on my lunch break b/c I'd have to blow dry my hair and that takes 30 minutes! :rotfl:

Love this one!

Thanks!

Great job with the 5K! Anna is such a great friend!
The photopass pics are so good! With all the rain we had we didn't get but a few pics:sad2:

Thanks! I didn't get as many as I usually do on this trip but I did okay.

Signing up for a Disney race is the ONLY way I stuck with it. :lmao: I am glad I did. I am still trying to run and keep it up and I actually increased the distance a bit. Of course now I hurt myself again so I am trimming back to let it work itself out but I plan on continuing. :)

Me too! I knew if I had something like that hanging over my head I'd keep training. Now if you ask me if I've been running consistently since we got home??? :rolleyes1 I plead the Fifth.

Congrats on running the 5K! That's so cool that there were characters out along the way.......I think I'd need that to distract me from the running! Love your photopass pics....they turned out great! :goodvibes

Thanks! It really does help with the fatigue...I just wasn't as tired as I usually at by the end!

Congrats on the 5K Dawn. Glad you had someone take your pic at the end. Great to have!!

Nice Photopass pics!:thumbsup2

Thanks!

You're a rock star Dawn!! Congrats on the 5k! :thumbsup2

Thank you!

Update time!

While I was letting Seth nap and recovering from the 5K, Anna and Luke had headed to EPCOT.....

IMG_3716.jpg

They had a cranberry bog there for the F&W Festival. It was SO COOL! Every time we walked by it I had to stop and stare!

IMG_3720.jpg

I think they pretty much stuck around Future World that morning....

Ray, Seth and I finally headed towards EPCOT around 11:00-ish. We parked at the Boardwalk since we had an ADR at Kouzzina later, and walked to the International Gateway.....and saw the crowd. Wow....I've never seen this entrance so crowded! But alas, it wasn't really that bad - they just had only 2 turnstiles open and 1 bag check guy! ON THE OPENING SATURDAY OF F&W FESTIVAL....:confused3 I don't get it. Anyway, that was really fun...standing in the hot sun to get into the park with a bored, impatient baby in his stroller.

After we finally got in, the wonderful fragrance of the delicious food we were about to encounter hit me as I came over the hill. YUM!!! We decided to kinda scope things out before we dove in.

We headed through the UK and Canada first, then we decided to stop at a little Champagne and Dessert kiosk near the entrance to WS and get this....

IMG_2353.jpg

and this...

IMG_2354.jpg

The first pic is a dessert trio of lemon chiffon, white chocolate macadamia mousse with chocolate pearls and tres leches verrine and the thing Ray is holding is vanilla soft serve with REAL Grand Marnier topping. Sure, we hadn't had lunch yet. But dessert for lunch suits me fine. :rotfl2: And I really enjoyed getting a slight buzz from ice cream!!! :rotfl: The white chocolate macadamia mousse with chocolate pearls was AMAZING.

IMG_2355.jpg

We found lines to be VERY long on this day, probably b/c it was the first weekend of the F&W Festival and there were a lot of locals there. We knew we'd be back on Wednesday, so I didn't want to break my neck trying everything. Oh, and guess what - we found prices to be slightly cheaper on Wednesday too! Sneaky, Disney.....very very sneaky.

A couple of pics as we made our way around WS, from Mexico going towards Norway and so on.....

Ray thought it was hilarious that this guy was taking a video with his iPad.

I got my beloved Oolong Peach Schnapps Frozen Tea in China, but they've now changed the name to a Peach Snap. Still sooooo delicious - most underrated drink in all of Disney....

The caramel shop in Germany.....drool.......

DSC07789.jpg

DSC07788.jpg

We stopped at the Hops and Barley kiosk in America for this.....

IMG_2357.jpg

It's a pumpkin mousse with Ocean Spray Craisins and orange sauce. It was very good! Ray also got a Sam Adams Octoberfest beer but I forgot to take a picture of it. Beer is beer, I guess.

Walking on....

DSC07791.jpg

Having a snack!

DSC07794.jpg

DSC07797.jpg

We decided we were hungry for lunch (ha!) and wanted food from the Cantina in Mexico. So we took the boat from the Morroco area back over to the other side so we'd have less walking to do. We split some nachos and churros.....

IMG_2358.jpg

We got a spot to eat outside the actual restaurant (which was packed) on a bench in the shade. While we were sitting there eating and I was feeding Seth, a couple and what I think was the man's mother sat next to us. At first they were very friendly and talking to Seth. Then they were talking amongst themselves and I noticed their conversation started getting more heated. At one point the daughter-in-law (?) said, "I just don't understand why everyone else has to be miserable b/c you're mad at him." The mother said, "Oh, and I'm the only one that ever complains, right?" And then the DIL said, "You know what? I'm not putting up with this f*cking sh*t!" and stormed off. Ray and I just sort of glanced at each other and dared not look in their direction. The guy just sort of sighed and got up to chase his girlfriend/wife and the mother just sat there. AWKWARD!!!!!

Okay, so after our lunch and a front row seat to the Jerry Springer Show, we decided to utilize the baby center to change Seth and get a little bit of a break.

IMG_2362.jpg

He wouldn't keep his shoes on that day!

IMG_2366.jpg

I got a shot of where the baby center is in case anyone is wondering....

DSC07800.jpg

Ray looks mad!

DSC07799.jpg

Ray had gone over to the Caribbean kiosk to get me a frozen dragon berry colada while I was changing Seth....

DSC07801.jpg

See how small that cup is? Yeah, that sucker cost like $8! Way too much for the amount they give you. And on Wednesday it was cheaper than that.

We decided to walk towards Future World so we could take Seth on Nemo.

Time for some Bruce pictures!

DSC07846.jpg

DSC07847.jpg

DSC07848.jpg

Oh, on a side note, if you have children and you take them to the Bruce area, be sure to make sure they don't cut in front of a mother with her baby who is waiting patiently to have their picture taken inside Bruce's mouth, please. That was so annoying. I just sort of stood back to let the kids who were already in there get finished with their pics. And one kid after another would go right in front of me, get right up behind the kid who was already in there and then go next. I let it slide a few times but then I told the next little girl that did it, "Sweetie, there's a line and it starts behind me." Her mom heard me and gave me a look, but I really don't care. That's just rude....way to teach your kids manners. People at Disney World continue to shock me with that kind of stuff. :headache:

Not to end on a sour note (because it really wasn't that big of a deal....just a vent), but I'm gonna stop here. Next update....more WS with Anna and Luke, some first steps and the worst dinner of the trip! :snooty:

I was looking through the pictures on your way to Nemo and wondering, "Where are they going?" Too funny! But it looks like Seth enjoyed it once there.
And WOW the F & W crowds do look big!
Worst dinner? Uh Oh.........

Awesome update! :thumbsup2

Those first desserts you tried look awesome! Especially that white chocolate macadamia mousse. Oh my gosh... YUM!

The oolong peach tea schnapps is seriously the best drink. And you're right, not many people seem to know about it! More for us... :rolleyes1

Seth looks so cute & happy chillin' in his stroller and eating those goldfish!

Gahhh, I don't like that Bruce area at all. It's a madhouse and the wait to take a picture is aggravating! I totally feel your pain.

All the food you tried looks delish! I hope to make it to Food and Wine someday.

I'm constantly in awe of how parents let their children behave these days. I'm not sure if I notice it more now that I'm a Mom or if it really is just worse :confused3:sad2:

Regarding Seth's stroller - it looks like you took a jogging stroller - would you recommend this? We are taking my Son next year (he will be 16 months) and we are debating between his regular stroller, an umbrella stroller or investing in a jogging (which we want anyway). Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah, I never ran over anyone either. I was thanking goodness that I decided against bringing Seth in the stroller. I would've been so stressed out!

I know I would have been stressed with a stroller. At the beginning there were spots where I had a hard time navigating.

Yeah me too. :lmao: You would think I would have time to hop in but the process of getting changed and getting in and then reversing it all afterwards is too much. Also I cannot swim in a pool I manage, I always find things that need to be done and spend more time looking around and not swimming.

Me too! I knew if I had something like that hanging over my head I'd keep training. Now if you ask me if I've been running consistently since we got home??? :rolleyes1 I plead the Fifth.
Consitently?!?!?!?! I don't think I ever really ran consistently. :lmao: I just had to be happy when I cold get it in, depending on how I felt and what time I had and the weather. :rolleyes1

Wonderful EPCOT update.

The prices were cheaper Wednesday??????

I dipped in but have to look at pictures if I got anything. :lmao:

Sorry about the Jerry Springer show. :headache:

Those nachos were good weren't they. YUM

I'm just joining in on your TR! I'm really enjoying it so far. I have a little blonde haired blue eyed boy born Sept 2010 too :) I'm really interested to see Seth's favorite things so I can get an idea of what my little man will enjoy in January. I'm also making a mental note to try some of those frozen drinks. :goodvibes

Cute pictures of the guys looking at the fish. I think they are going to be pretty good buddies in the years ahead. :goodvibes

I hear ya with the Bruce pictures! We had the same experience when we went in May, except by the time all the kids finished cutting in front of us Everett was having a melt down and the picture did not turn out pretty. You did manage to get a very cute shot, so kudos to you! :thumbsup2

Hmm... peach snaps and tea- sounds intriguing. Is this drink offered just during F&W, or will I have a shot at trying it out in Dec?

I agree that the macadamia nut mousse was a great choice, it was one of our favorite dessert offerings at the festival!

I didn't realize the prices were cheaper during the week. We were there from 10/26 to 11/1.

I agree that Peach Snap is the BEST drink in Disney. I make sure I get at least one every trip.

Love the pic of Seth looking at the fish.

I :lovestruc Epcot Food and Wine, and your pictures made me hungry! I heartily approve of all your yummy choices!

Great job on the race! That time is super! :yay:

We've started just skipping the photo with Bruce, since it's so hard with kids cutting in all the time.

I didn't realize Disney raised the prices of the F&W over the weekends. That's very interesting...

Yumm-O Life is short - eat dessert first!:rotfl2:
Sam Adams is a West Coast fav - very exotic (Imported out here) We are beer snobs out here:goodvibes Like the coffee snobs only more fun :rotfl2:

I love the first pic of Seth with his sippy cup - looks like he's found his nose!

You would think some people would remember they are around other people's children and maybe you don't want that kind of language used. :sad2:

Great pics of the detail on the Ball. Cute Bruce pic - too bad you had to shove the little kids out of the way to get it! :lmao:

The picture of Seth looking at the Nemo fish is just precious. I love the expression on his face.

I would have never imagined that the prices were lower during the week! Good point to know.

Wow, your food choices looked delicious.

Love the update! I could not agree more about the lack of teaching kids manners and cutting in line business. Drives me crazy!

I don't understand the way that some people just let their children run around without supervision in places like Disney. It seems really frequent that kids do crazy stuff and I look around to see who they belong to and no adult is near or paying attention to what the kids are doing. For their own protection, it's a crazy world out there and just because you're at disney doesn't mean there can't be a crazy nearby waiting to snatch your kid when you're not looking. Children need to be watched, and directed, if not for improving their manners and character, for their own protection. That's the way I think about it at least.

Glad to see you started your day with dessert, my husband would never go for that. He refuses to eat sweet stuff before consuming something "breakfast regular food". Whatever that means... :rotfl2: No worries though, I can find my way to the desserts any time of day all on my own

I was looking through the pictures on your way to Nemo and wondering, "Where are they going?" Too funny! But it looks like Seth enjoyed it once there.
And WOW the F & W crowds do look big!
Worst dinner? Uh Oh.........

You know what's weird? Your comment on my update is before my update! :confused3

Yeah, I just wasn't thinking of where I was going. When we got up to Spaceship Earth I was like, "Wait....we're going the wrong way!" :rotfl:

Awesome update! :thumbsup2

Those first desserts you tried look awesome! Especially that white chocolate macadamia mousse. Oh my gosh... YUM!

The oolong peach tea schnapps is seriously the best drink. And you're right, not many people seem to know about it! More for us... :rolleyes1

The Peach Snap is soooooo good! And I found it as an alternative to the plum slushie on my trip with Erica in 2008. So good! Yes, Bruce is a madhouse...they need to have a marked queue area!

All the food you tried looks delish! I hope to make it to Food and Wine someday.

I'm constantly in awe of how parents let their children behave these days. I'm not sure if I notice it more now that I'm a Mom or if it really is just worse :confused3:sad2:

I loved having our jogging stroller with us. One note though - some jogging strollers have front wheels that are locked and don't swivel. Mine has a lock option or a swivel option. If it's locked it's VERY hard to steer - the lock is just used for when you're running. We had a regular stroller given to us before Seth was born and we never used it b/c I love the jogging stroller we have so much. I think it was about $140 at Babies R Us. I'd definitely recommend having either the regular one or the jogging stroller for a 16-month-old. Seth was 13 months on this trip and it was nice that he could just lay back and take a nap when he got tired and be comfortable. I think with an umbrella stroller the naps wouldn't be as comfortable and he wouldn't have slept as well. And the shade on the stroller was a must for us b/c of the hot Florida sun!

I know I would have been stressed with a stroller. At the beginning there were spots where I had a hard time navigating.

Yeah me too. :lmao: You would think I would have time to hop in but the process of getting changed and getting in and then reversing it all afterwards is too much. Yeah, the beginning was kinda hairy. I didn't feel like we spread out much until we actually got into the park. And my running is pretty much non-existent right now. I'm aiming to start soon....just gotta get some motivation!

Wonderful EPCOT update.

The prices were cheaper Wednesday??????

I dipped in but have to look at pictures if I got anything. :lmao:

Sorry about the Jerry Springer show. :headache:

Those nachos were good weren't they. YUM

Yes, they were! Not on everything but on some stuff. Crazy, huh? And yes, the nachos were yummy!

Welcome! Thanks for reading! I don't have much of a following on this TR - I think some of my disfriends don't really come around the disboards any more so I've lost them. But I'm glad to have the ones I've still got! Cool that your little boy is the same age as Seth. Aren't you having a ball with him right now? Seth is doing new things every day and cracking us up in the process. He's so much fun!
