~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes, you read that right....THREE YEARS. Well, almost three years. The last time we set foot on Disney property was in December 2008. But not to worry...we've been busy.
We decided that we wanted to take a year off from Disney. I had been twice in 2007 and three times in 2008, so, believe it or not, I was READY for a break. Yes, you actually CAN have enough of Disney World. Well, at least temporarily anyway. We planned to return in December 2010. That is until I got a nice little surprise in January 2010....a surprise with blonde hair and blue eyes and a smile that lights up my heart by the name of Seth , who made his debut in September 2010. So the December 2010 trip was out. After some discussion, we decided we'd make our return in October 2011. So that's the story of the three-year wait.
Now I will warn you before you read this: I LOVE DISNEY. I love Disney movies, I love the parks, I love the feeling you get when you're there, I love the music, I love the characters, I love the food and I love the general idea behind what it is that Disney World represents. I am, however, a realist. I'm not going to sugarcoat everything and tell you that Seth's first trip to my favorite place was all smiles and cotton candy. There was crying, there was arguing, there was sweating and there were (gasp!) cancelled ADRs....lots of 'em! But for the most part we had a great trip and I can't wait to share it all with you.
Now let's get to the details: the who, when, the where and so on...
The who:
Me! I'm Dawn, your guide to this enthralling trip. I'm a 35yo full-time legal assistant (former court reporter but I changed professions after I had a baby - I am keeping my license though in case I want to go back to it later on in life), part-time Disney travel agent and all-the-time mom and wife.
Then there's Ray, my hubby. Ray is a 39yo (will be 40 next month....hahahahahahahaaaahahah!!! ) full-time desktop administrator (also known as computer geek) and the best husband and daddy I could ever begin to dream of having.
Also joining us for the first few days of this trip is one of my best friends, Anna, and her son, Luke. Anna is a fitness trainer (can't you tell??) and wonderful mother and friend. She's one of the most genuinely sweet and caring people I've ever met. And a hoot to boot. (That rhymed!) Luke is her 7yo son and loves Star Wars, video games, soccer and was SUPER excited about coming to Disney World!
And last but certainly not least, my little man, the reason for this trip, Seth! Seth turned 13 months old during this trip. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Thomas the Train and any kind of music (which he dances to), his favorite word is "uh-oh", he loves Cheerios and Goldfish and he was learning to walk during this trip (he's actually started walking across the room now...we are in trouble!).
The when/where:
September 29, 2011-October 2, 2011 - All-Star Sports Resort
October 2, 2011-October 7, 2011 - The Villas at Wilderness Lodge
Now, let's get to the nitty gritty.....back with day 1 soon!
Oh, and thanks for coming along. I hope you enjoy the ride.
