Okay - here's the scenario.. My 3 yr. old granddaughter is here at the lake with me one evening.. I have this "rule" about watching television while we're eating.. (Don't know why - it just bugs me..)

My DD comes in with a t.v. dinner for my granddaughter and pops it in the microwave before she and her DH head out for a boat ride..

"Dinner" is done.. Grandma sets it in front of said granddaughter and receives this blank look as granddaughter says, "Aren't you going to turn on the t.v.?" - to which Grandma replies, "You know my rule about watching televsion while we're eating.." She scrunches up her little face and with the utmost sincerity says, "But Grandma, it's a t.v. dinner - get it??"

When did 3 year olds get SO smart???? :)

LOL...too cute...:)

At birth! LOL

My 3 YODD is too smart for us.... we really have to watch what we say, coz she remembers everything!

Thanks for sharing your cute story!!

That's cute....my 5 yr old had the kindergarten presentation yesterday in school and in the process the guidance counselor is reminding them of having manners and he says...when we need something we don't call out, we don't scream and we don't whine. What do we do?? ( meaning you raise your hand and wait for your turn ) and dd goes...you just go get it yourself!!! We wanted to laugh but we had to hold back, it was school!!

She got you there... turn it on!!! :)

LOL :teeth: That was too cute!! Very smart girl you have there :)

She does have a point C.Ann...I am so ROTFLMBO over here...sorry.

I work in a dayacare and 5 days out of the week I am with 8 3 year olds, and you are right some of the stuff they come up with cracks me up. Here are a few...
the other day while on a trip, a little girl wanted to hold my hand while walking down stairs on a bus. I had let go of her hand, and she stopped DEAD in her tracks, which in turn made me trip and kind of fall down the steps, hurting my ankle. She looked at me with this "what the heck are you doing face", and then when I told her I tripped over her she sair to me "well you didn't say excuse me!" It was too funny!
Another time I had purchased some bug wings that the children could wear on their backs for dress up. I looked over and one of the children had the wings on his back and he was on the table jumping off. I asked him to please not jump off the table.
He looked at me and said "they are not working"
I asked him "what was not working?"
"the wings, they are not working" as he continued to try and jump off the table. So then I look over and he is heading for the door to oustide. I said "where are you going?" He said "outside, maybe they will work outside" Again I asked him whatwill work...he said "the wings, they are broken how come I can't fly" It was too cute that he thought because he was wearing "wings" that he could fly. So I had to go into the whole people can't fly thing!
