I was just reading another thread about Character breakfasts. And now I want to add Minnie and Friends to our list. We are already going to a Princess Lunch and then when my mom meets us we will be going to Goofy's Kitchen. Will it be too many if we add Minnie and Friends? We will be there for 11 days.

Also what are the most common characters at Minnie's?

TIA

My sister in law and her family did a character meal almost every day of their trip. I seriously thought it was overkill. Minnie's breakfast was our favorite. You see the classic characters. Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Pooh, Eyeore, Fairy Godmother, Chip & Dale, Captain Hooke.

I say that's fine! You are there for 11 days, and there are 5 character meals to be had total. You would only be doing 3 of them. I love the idea of character meals, so it would not be too much for me - as long as you guys have the money for it, and the film in your cameras, then I say do all of them to get the full scope of what is out there and really make a fair comparison! I know one of our other DIS'ers here - Ballarinamom - did all 5 of the character meals when she went to DLR in December, I think it was. And they stayed for a shorter time than what you are doing, I think. So why not experience as many as you can stand? If I had the money and the time, I would do them all on each trip. I never miss Goofy's (Goofy's, like Minnie's, also has classic characters), but if I had the money and the time, I would add in Minnie's, Lilo and Stitch, Storytellers, and heck, I would even try the princess meal at Ariel's even though I could not care less about Princesses!

When i go again i wanna do atleast goofys and minnies, and i might do a 3rd. the reason i want to do so many is because when we went in october 2007 we didnt see as many charecters i would have liked just walking around the park so i think that is the best sure way tooo see them!!!

For 11 days it might be fine.

For us, the buffet nature of most of the character meals prevents us from enjoying more than one...we just don't eat enough to make the cost worth it! But that's the same away from DLR too...buffets just aren't good enough to justify it.

And then there's the added layer of us being vegetarian, making the Ariel's food cost really NOT worth it to us, and you can see why we just don't really focus on the character meals.

But 11 days, as long as you feel the foods are worth it and the costs are worth it and doable, go for it!

Best part...they are easy to cancel or just not show up for (I once canceled inside an hour and they could NOT have been more cold to me...they don't care once you're inside that hour).

Go for it! We did 3 in 6 days and loved it! Our kids love getting pictures and autographs, so the meals gave us a chance torelax for an hour or so, eat and see the characters wothout any lines. It was perfect!

I know it's not quite the same, but when we went to WDW last year for two weeks with the (free) Disney Dining Plan, SEVEN of our meals where character meals. The kids always love them.

Go for it.

We did 5 in 8 days.

Then on our last day in California we made a quick trip to Anaheim because I wanted to buy some more pins that came out that day. Suddenly my room mate was gone, and when she returned she told me she had made an impromptu PS at Goofy's kitchen for a spontaneous farewell dinner.

So we did 6 character meals in the end, and three times of those were Goofy's Kitchen. We would have done the Stitch breakfast too, but due to an accident that turned into our first visit at Goofy's.

As a CM at Goofy's Kitchen said when she saw me hopping around on crutches: "A character meal was just the right thing to do, the characters will all be coming to you and you won't have to fight the lines." And how right she was...

That's the main reason we do all of the character meals. We always stay 5 nights and do one a day-
Lilo and Stitch on the morning we are going into DCA at rope drop
Minnie's last seating on a MM entry dya as a brunch
Goofy's for dinner
Princesses for lunch (we LOVE the new menu!!)
and Storytellers normally or first full morning as we have the central time zone on our side and don't mind the 7:00 ps

We hardly ever stand in lines to meet characters unless it's a have to meet that we may miss at the meals.
We already know we have to eat. We like one big meal a day and then a smaller one and snacks. DH prefers to be waited on over buffets so we usually use the mene at Storytellers and Lilo and why we really like Ariel's.

For 11 days----- DEFINATELY!!! :thumbsup2

I'm a vegetarian too! I hope that I can find food for me (the rest of the family eats meat). I'll have to double check menu's I guess.

Thanks for the input everyone. I think it will be worth it if I can find food for me. I can't do much about Ariel's as that was the only one DD wanted to do for sure so we've already paid for it.

I am also veggie and bit picky, I have done Ariel's many times and since I like the pasta dish there I do just fine. I have also done Goofy's kitchen for dinner and I have to say I normally hate buffet's for the same reason as Bumbershoot (less options and I don't eat enough), I have to say I actually found a lot of options at GK and had a really great time! I wouldn't do it every trip but I would actually go again, it was that good.

I am working with DH to plan our first two day trip, mostly because I want to do Minnie's. I am hoping to find options since I am VERY picky about breakfast foods, but I hope the experience alone of walking into the empty park and seeing it wake up will make it all worthwhile! DH is also veggy but he is so not as picky as I am so he should be fine. I did hear one of the buffet's might have veggy sausage I am wondering which one/one's have that?

You are going to have so much fun!

Storytellers had it on their buffet, and when I reported on that,I found out that it's been seen at Lilo's as well (we didn't notice it when we ate there).

I've read that Ariel's "family style" breakfast can bring out veggie sausages etc too.

Good to know they have one dish at Ariel's for lunch/dinner!
