does anyone know how long it takes to get it when ordered on line or over the phone and I am guessing each way has the $3 charge per pass? and you have to pay tax? ( don't order stuff online a lot but thought you did not pay tax) thanks

Not sure about the tax part because I live in FL and we have to pay the tax. However it takes about 3 weeks to get the tickets most of the time. Or you can order them and do "will call" and pick them up when you get there. Don't forget they are good from the day you buy them, not the first day you use them, so getting them at WDW maybe be better.

I am pretty sure you have to pay Florida tax. I know that if you buy at the Disney Store you have to pay Florida tax no matter where you buy and I had to pay tax on MNSSHP tickets I ordered on line.

A company does not have to charge you tax if they have no legal presence in your state (or your state has no sales/use tax). However, since you can only use these tickets in Florida I am sure the Florida tax people would charge Disney if they did not charge you tax. (Technically these are sales and use taxes. For example, I buy furniture in NC and have it shipped to me in TN. I don't owe sales tax in NC, but am suppose to go to the proper authorities and pay a Use tax equal to TN sales tax. Not many people do, but that is the law. So Florida knows the only place you can use these tickets is Florida!) When I first got out of school I was a Sales/Use tax auditor.

It took mine about 10 days to get to me. The shipping is 3.00 for the order. And, you have to pay the tax for Florida because, as CarolA said, it is a sales and use tax and you are using the pass in FL.

We ordered our by phone and picked them up when we got to Disney - no shipping issue. Also they are not activitated until the first day you use them, not when they are purchased.

that's weird cause we just got my sons in October, but we brought them on Sept 25, over the phone the expiration date is Sept 24. 2004

That's because the CM who did your voucher exchange made a mistake. When the CM swipes the voucher through the reader, the information comes up on their computer screen. The date defaults to the day that the voucher was purchased. The CM is supposed to override this date with the date of the day you are doing the exchange but sadly some forget. The result is what you have... an AP with an expiration date of when the voucher was purchased instead of when it was activated.

It has happened many times. You are not the first. That's why the best piece of information you can have when you go to exchange the voucher is to CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE OF THE AP BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE GUEST RELATIONS WINDOW.

You can try calling Guest Relations and pleading your case but unless you can absolutely prove both when you bought the voucher and when you activated it to Disney's satisfaction, you may be out of luck.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll have to remember for next time, only when you renew it does expire from the date of the old one right?

You can go to the Disney store and order them too. I heard it take 3 weeks, so I just decided to wait until I got there

so basically the only benefit of purchasing the voucher before hand is you are sure they are not going to increase in price?
or if I order them say in Dec for pickup at wdw in Jan. will I get the dec. price? but,,,, they will not be activated till I pick them up? and what If I buy them over the phone or online and they are activated for the wrong day , then what? see now 7 questions:D !

The Disney Store I use had the AP vouchers on the display with the Park Hoppers. It was just a simple purchase, and we activated them at the International Gateway at Epcot. I got two APs with the Disney Visa when they were running a double rewards promotion.

They really are not to be activated until you get to the theme parks. That's why I like pre-buying them. Plus you are supposed to have AP's at check-in at the resorts, but I have heard that you can use the vouchers.

That is one benefit. Others buy them in advance to spread out the cost of the tickets instead of having to pay for them all at once at WDW. Still others just feel better knowing they have their tickets (or vouchers) in hand before they go.

You will pay for them when you order them, not when you pick them up.

They will be activated the day you pick them up. All you have to do is look at the back of them when they hand you the activated AP's to verify that they will exppire one year from the day you pick them up. That isn't too much to remember, is it? ;)

see now 7 questions:D !
I'll send you my bill. ;) Stop worrying. LOL!

Thanks

Then my best suggestion to you is don't buy a voucher. Wait and buy the AP's when you get to WDW. That way, you have nothing to bring and nothing to check. The AP's will take you the same amount of time buying one at Guest Relations as it will take to have the vouchers activated. And the AP will definitely be dated the day you buy it. :)

is there any best guess as to if the passes will go up by Jan? is there any time of year they usually increase..I believe someone said they had not gone up for a few years so is it more likely they are due for an increase and might as well ask 9 while I am at it.... if I order by phone and pick up at disney where do I do it since I would need them to check in if I get an AP rate..DTD?

First of all, when dealing with Disney remember this above all else: Past history is no indication of future events. Simply put, that means that what happened in the past does not necessarily mean it will happen again in the future.

Disney, Grinch though they may be in many people's eyes ;), has never raised prices in December. It is very possible that pices, particularly AP/PAP's, could go up in January but it's not a given.

Disney marches to their own drummer. They do what they want when they want. Over the past few years they have steadfastly avoided falling into any kind of predictable pattern on when and if their ticket prices would increase.

So the answer to your question is a definite "maybe". :)

First off, you do not need to have the AP in hand when you check in. Most times it isn't even asked for. In the event it is, you tell them that you are getting it that night/tomorrow morning and they will tell you to return sometime tomorrow to show the front desk the AP. This only happens in rare circumstances as most front desk CM's could care less whether you have an AP or not.

But if you really want to do a will call on an AP, they can only be picked up at a Guest Relations location at any of the four major parks or at either Guest Relations at DTD. Will calls will typically take you longer to get processed than either exchanging a voucher or just buying an AP while there. The reason is they have to locate your order in the computer system (not always easy for Disney  ) and then many CM's have to find out how to handle the actual transaction since doing will calls is not something do very often. Plan on at least double the amount of time as a voucher exchange.
