3 resorts in one trip. Crazy?

On Our trip 2 years ago we did 3 resorts in one stay.
We stayed 2 nights at AKL then 5 at BCV then another 2 at the Poly.
We had booked AKL & the Poly with a great rate so did those on the weekends
Even with the 2 granchildren moving was easy and we all loved trying out AKL & Poly for the first time.:thumbsup2

Well of course you all know what will happen......

I will be a good lil WDW vet and plan for smoothe moves, like packing different resorts in different bags, instead of for the people going and such and my waitlist will come through at the last minute and the extra move won't even happen.

hmmmmm. maybe if I start packing, now, my waitlist will come through right away.

...we're planning a 14 day trip next year with one resort change half way through.

we're getting a 10 day park pass and adding water park so the day's we check in (plus 2 other days) ....

Have you thought about getting a PAP instead of the 10 day ticket with water parks? With the DVC discount, it might be a wash and you can come and go as you like. We will often hit a water park as soon as it opens for a few hours (slide, etc) and then head back to the resort around noon or even a bit earlier if the crowds start getting bad.

i had thought about that but to add the water park is just $50 more and an AP with water park is more then a 10 day plus water.

since we only come down once every other year an ap isn't worth it for us.

We did a split stay accross three resorts last year (12 days - 5 days VWL, 2 days VB and 5 days BCV). We loved the change of scenery and pace provided by mixing it up. Disney will move your luggage for you - so that is easy. We have found that the split makes the trip feel much longer and more leisurely - it segments the vacation into chunks. We do mostly MK while at VWL and save a lot of EPCOT and MGM for the BCV leg of the trip. This time around we are doing a 10 day trip - 4 days at VWL, 2 days at SSR (one day at DD and one day trip to St Augustine) and then 4 days at BWV. The SSR leg of the trip is over a Fri and Sat and instead of using points we are getting a cash rate (with the 25% DVC discount).

Have a great trip!:cheer2:

We have changed (doing it again next month), but that many times in a week would make me think I was wasting too much time. It always takes more time than you expect it to when you change resorts.

We do this all the time and don't mind at all. I really like experiencing the different resorts. We always have a rental car, though, so we move our own luggage. I try to be organized with packing (we have two kids) so it's really not that difficult. We usually stay at a mod or value on weekend nights, then move to DVC for Sun-Thurs. Probably the craziest trip we did was one night at Pop, two nights at Vero, one night at Pop, then three nights at BWV! This happened for a couple of reasons, not ideal for sure, but it was fine. We also did another trip two nights at POFQ, one night at BC, and two nights at CR. That was pre-DVC.

Enjoy each resort, and have a great vacation!

Well our 14 day stay this year will involve 4 different resorts.!:scared1:
Our first night we arrive from the UK late afternoon on a sat night so no point paying loads of points for a place to crash...we are going to stay offsite and then check in 8am next morning at BCV for 5 nights.
After BCV we are staying Fri and SAt night at Hard Rock Hotel for FOLP and then Sun we check into VWL for 6 nights.
Phew..

We had a 12 day trip last October.
2 nights VWL
5 nights AKV
4 nights SSR

Moving was no fun...especially with kids. Each time you move you have to be without a room for a large amount of time. Packing and unpacking stunk. My husband thought it would be adventurous and fun....for me, I would rather have my one room and unpack and be done. We will NOT ever do this again...unless it was without kids. Now that being said....we had a fabulous time and it was fun seeing 3 Villas on our first DVC trip. Now we know that so far, AKV is our favorite..Next up BCV in May.:flower3:

Yes it was awesome, despite the fact my wife PEANUT1 complained about it. I would think it would be very sloppy if it were squeezed into a week though.
The dining plan is really confusing when you have multiple separate stays, and that may sway your decision. You will hear alot about having to spend extra snacks and CS before you leave on a regular stay, well with separate reservations you have to account for multiple dining plans and finish them up after each move. Gets kinda complicated.
The big positive is you do get adventure and variety...if you dislike the place you won't be there too long. That's great for someone with Attention Deficit Disorder like me. You room is clean every move too. Four days of SSR (my home resort) was enough to know that it is not as convenient with toddlers as VWL or AKV. If I were stuck there the whole time I would have been less happy.
So whatever decision you make I am sure it will be magical!:wizard: Enjoy your adventure!!!

Our waitlist came through! Just one move for us this trip. I knew pretending to pack a bag would do the trick.:thumbsup2
