Hi there,
I am planning my 2nd trip in July I have 7 days at the ASMO and the last 3 days at AKL Savannah View under my AP discount. My question is I am thinking of splitting the 7 days to 4 at ASMO and 3 at a Moderate with the new Summer Specials. Do you think 3 resorts in 10 days is too much??????? Last year we did 14 days 4 at the Contemp. and 5 at ASMU and 5 at ASMO. I have never tried a Moderate. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

How many will be with you? If you've got little kids with you, it seems like a lot of moving around for them. However, if it's just 2 adults (or less), go for it! Sounds like a great idea. Start with the value resort and "work your way up" to AKL. Last January I stayed in 2 resorts in 5 days (3 at ASMu, 2 at AKL) and had a great time. Also, I think it depends on how you view the trip-as an opportunity to see just the theme parks, or new experiences in hotels too. Have fun!

Thanks for the response!
It is just myself and DD 10 yrs old. We moved twice last year and
she saw it as an adventure. We wont be going commando style
this time and I would like to try a moderate. Any other suggestions or thoughts on this????

I did 4 resorts in 10 days in 97. I arrived one day ahead of Ma and Pa so spent the night at All Star Music. Once they arrived we did 4 nights at WL Jr. Suite. Two nights at Dixie Landings (Yes!!! It was Dixie Landings back then and I will call it that!!! ;)) and 3 nights at the Yacht Club. To really enjoy a resort though we have decided you need at least 3 days there.

I was supposed to switch hotels 3 times in 9 days...after the 1st switch I said forget it!! We are a family of 5 and the packing and unpacking just was not fun! So we stayed our last 6 days at the YC.

I can only offer an opinion from my own personal experience -- I have done 5 resorts in 10 days and 6 resorts in 3-1/2 weeks (my last WDW vacation). Resort hopping never bothers my family (my husband will whine every now and then but that's normal for him ;) ).

I did 3 resorts in 6 days one trip, and 3 resorts in 8 days on another (all adults). No problems for us! (I think my next trip I'm going to limit it to two though.)

Hello, do you have any tips on how to switch resorts. We are going in June and will be staying at french quarter 5 nights and wl for 4 nights. We will have a rental car. I have never switched resorts so i am not sure the best way to do it. Does anybody have any tips? Thanks.

Thank you all for your suggestions!! I'm leaning towards first 4 days at the ASMO ap rate and then 3 at PO R with the 3 lettered code and my last 3 days at AKL savannah view!!This way I wont be tempted to cancel the other ressies when I get to AKL!! I'll just start from value to mod to deluxe!! Now about getting those good rates for a mod!! Wish me Luck!

Corvair- when I went last year we switched with no problem. I didn't have a car so I did express check out the night before and called Bell Services 1st thing in the A.M. and told them I was checking out of that resort to my new resort and would they transfer my luggage. I had no problem. We did this 2 times. Since you have a car you may want to do the transfer yourself. I have heard from other posters that they did have complications with the luggage transfer and found that moving their own luggage was easier for them. Good Luck and have Fun!!
Again thanks for all the suggestions:)

UPDATE! I just got off the phone with CRO and I am now 4 days at ASMO with AP 3 Days at PO FQ with code and 3 Days at AKL savannah with code and it didn't cost me any more money!! AKL was cheaper on code than on AP discount so was PO FQ!!

We always have a car and switch our luggage ourselves though will have Bell services bring it up if moving to a deluxe. I try to schedule the day that we switch to be a non park day. We can sleep in a bit and have a leisurely breakfast, then check out and go to downtown disney for shopping and lunch. Sometimes I just go check in early and see if a room is ready. A couple times I have scheduled Universal or Kennedy Space center for switch day. It has always worked out fine.
