I'm sorry if this questions has been asked already but has anyone been in a Category 1 on the 3-Night Wonder and what price did they pay? (thinking of going in June 2006). Also, how many people does it really sleep? I keep seeing conflicting information. Two separate families are going so I thought that it might be nice to all be in one cabin. How many does the Category 2 hold? Thanks

I am booked in a Cat. 2 in Feb. 2005. My parents decided to join us seeing the Cat. 2 sleeps 7 (4 of us). The price was about 700.00 higher than them getting ther own cat. 11 room. They charge alot more for additional guests for the suites. My suggestion , is to book the lowest cat. for the additional quests and just don't use the room, and all stay in the Suite.

The Cat 1 would have a queen or two twins in one bedroom, and a queen pull-down bed in the adjacent sitting room..so that would be a total of 4 (all in one family preferably).
The living room has a single sleeper sofa, and the other bedroom has two twins. So that's three more. Sleeps up to 7 people total.

We've stayed in the Cat 2 twice. The master bedroom would have either a queen or two twins (your choice, just tell DCL what you want, and they pull the beds apart), the living room sofa is a double sleeper, and the second bedroom can either be a queen or 2 twins, and it also has the twin bed that comes down from the ceiling. So it could sleep 7 also.

Both bedrooms, in each suite, have two full baths (although in the Cat 2 the bathroom in the 2nd bedroom is quite a bit smaller) and they each have a small bathroom with just a sink & toilet in the hall.

5boysplus - I LOVE THE WAY YOU THINK!!!!

But can that really work? How do you deal with tips? And do you link ressies so you are seated the same table for dinner?

WOW!!

Thanks for the advice. I was trying to find the cheapest way of doing things. We don't have to all be together, I just thought that if we all stayed together, the price might be less than if the 2 famlies stayed in separate cabins (say cat. 9).

i'm not sure if it's true anymore, but it used to be that on the Wonder cruises, you could only get cat 1 or 2, if you took the land/sea package.....which is really very very very expensive (much more expensive than doing it yourself)...

but they may have changed that rule.....

I have not gone on the cruise yet. It is in Feb. But I have a friend who stayed in a cat. 1.......7-day and some friends went also and it was less expensive for there friends to get a Cat. 11 and never even went to the room. They stayed in the other bedroom in the Cat. 1. They still paid all there tips. (most are per person anyway) and it worked out just fine.:wave2:

They allow 7 in a cat 1, but could sleep more since the second bedroom also has 2 upper bunks.

So DCL was aware that they had booked a cat. 11 and stayed in the suite instead, and they were OK with that? What did they do about room keys? The couple from the cat. 11 wouldn't have a key to the suite.
