3 Grannies, Disney Dancing & Deviltry! Oh, my!!

Did anyone here from Christine about our dates ?????? Also I think I need to give the Rosie Link here to my TR on Disney in October . It is on the TR boards The Dynamic Duo do it again .... Go find it !!!:rotfl2:

Christine and I did some texting back and forth but didn't really decide on anything. Thanksgiving is late next year so our trip might need to be a little later that we originally thought but not too late cuzz then it gets to close to Christmas. So that didn't really help at all!!! :cool1:

I did notice how late Thanksgiving is next year , so it will need to be a little later . Let me know as soon as you have any news !!!!

....but who knows for how long.:worried: We switched internet providers a month ago and it's been a mess ever since... we go for seconds to days without any wifi (no desktop) and the company has not been able to figure out what's wrong.

I was away from late last Friday to Tuesday midday (Cape was incredible, as always)...left without service and no service yesterday...so, if you don't hear from me quickly please text or call.:thumbsup2

Checked Mia's calendar and here is what is available as of this moment - I could go almost anytime from Wed Dec 4th for 5 or 6 nights. Dec 11 or 12 home on the 16 or 17th is especially good, but I know that is getting close to Christmas. The weekend of the 7th and 8th is the taping of the Christmas Parade - the MK is mobbed and the Tree is moved to Town Sq....but if we avoid the MK on Sat and Sun we should be fine. My first morning and last evening must be at the MK (it will have been THREE years since my last visit by December - longest time since 1982!!), but other than that, I am totally flexible! ::yes::

Okay, what shall we book and hold???
(miss you guys!)

I'm open to whatever dates .... I will probably have to do at least part of the stay if not all of it in a timeshare but once we have the final dates I'll be able to let everyone know.

Linda, can you stay with us for some (or all) of the days? We can easily book a room that can have a rollaway...I have been kind of thinking of Riverside and the Mansion rooms can hold a rollaway, as well as FQ. I love Disney rollaway beds!

If this trip timing is difficult we can always post-pone - whatever works best!! ::yes::

No to postponing!!! I'm so excited about this trip. Right now everything is sort of up in the air because I don't know yet if we are going to Hawaii in Jan 2014 or not. So right now I'm trying to not commit to too much. I think I'll be able to spend some of the nights with you but I won't know exactly how many until we decided on the dates and I see what is available for a timeshare exchange. Right now there is a 2 bedroom at Sheraton Vistana Villages that would probably work. It's a good trade for me since I'd be using a studio for a 2 bedroom.

My grandson sent me a picture of the WL Christmas tree the other night. It was beautiful!!! Just made me really want to be there for the holiday season!

Since I'm not sure how much of the time I'll be able to stay at the resort I really want you guys to pick it. I do love POR mansion rooms .... I must have been a Southern belle in my past life! :rotfl2:

Once the dates are picked I'll see what I can do.

Whenever will work for me .But December 11th will most likely be our House Party soooo if we left on the 12th that would work great , return date is fine for whenever . I can cut out of the party early but as House Manager I should be there for a little bit !!!

Come on, Grannies - give me exact dates!! I don't want to be the one to make the final choice!

Thank you!!:cool1:

So here are my thoughts:

The best dates for Christine and Rosie are Dec 12th and staying for 5 or 6 nights .... so I say those should be the dates that are chosen. These dates should work as far as flying .... never flying on a weekend so that should save a little money. And I think we should be out of there before all the major holiday crowds get there. Also there should be some discounts for those dates.

Still don't know if I'll be able to stay with you at the resort but here's my 2 cents ..... favorite resorts:

1. Value = POP
2. Mod = POR and FQ
3. Deluxe = WL

I think today is Jeanette''s last day at WDW so she probably won't be able to weigh in on this today. Janet oh Janet where are you??? :confused3

The 12th Dec. would work for me that way I will be present for the house party, I am much more open for return date , heck I may even stay a few extra days I will have my AP hopefully and if FD was offered Oh Yea !!!

Mouse Fan Travel might have the discounted group rates the first weekend for the Reunion -hopefully those dates will be released soon. My dream come true would be to rent points at VWL. POP and POR or FQ would also be my other top choices.:thumbsup2

Unfair!!!!

p.s. Rosie, no free dining for AP holders ...unless you buy the pkg with tkts, but it must be the same for everyone in the room. When AP rates are released the room can be booked with a dining plan which makes it a pkg just like any other pkg, only tkt purchase is not required. AP rates tend to come out about 3 mos ahead of available booking dates....it would be difficult for me to do it that way because it would need to be paid in fulll pretty quickly.:thumbsup2

You still think I should convert my tickets in October to AP though don't you???? For clarification I will be going on a Free Trip in October so am planning on converting that to an AP, I will then be able to go as much as I want till OCT. 2014 , amend that to what I can afford :rotfl2: Isn't there a deal that if you buy 1 day ticket you qualify for the FD ?

Definitely convert your October tkt to an AP!!! Yes, about FD - but why buy a one day (some years it has been 2 day) when you already have an AP? Of course, free dining means paying rack rate for the room...if it covers whatever dates we choose, we'll crunch the numbers to see which would be the best value.:thumbsup2

You Crunch !! I have enogh # crunching to do at work:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Looks like you are all narrowing down your choices quite nicely. Just wanted to say that I love POFQ and think its a great choice for a mod resort. So pretty and lovely at Christmas time! :goodvibes

Okay... guess I'm #1 official number cruncher for the Grannie trip!:rotfl: You know you'll be sorry when the numbers start coming in.:rotfl: Really, I'd love to rent points - it is so easy and cost effective, especially during a December visit....but right now do not think I know anyone who can book 11 mos out - and that is the key for our dates. OH!!! Just remembered that the Poly will be undergoing a refurb next year! Better start saving those pennies...although from the preview photos I've seen, it looks a bit bland hotel-like rather than Disney themed. :sad2:

I love FQ too - it is one of the prettiest resorts. Sadly, the new refurb - purple and gold - kind of makes me nauseous, but POR used softer colors and the refurb is a year more recent...never-the-less, both are such great options!:thumbsup2

I like the fact that POFQ is smaller !! I don't wanna get lost!!!:rotfl2:
