Hidden Mickeys – Part 2
How sharp is your eye???
Over 800 Hidden Mickeys in WDW!!

As we continued our search for Hidden Mickey’s, it really became fun for all! Even our 4 year old has gotten in on all the fun!

So what exactly is a Hidden Mickey???....

Hidden Mickey – a partial or complete image of Mickey Mouse that has been hidden by Disney’s Imagineers and artists in the designs of Disney attractions, hotels, restaurants, and other areas.

Hidden Mickey Facts:
• They come in all sizes and many forms.
• Most common is an outline of Mickey’s head formed by three intersecting circles (classic Mickey)
• The practice probably started as an inside joke among Imagineers.
• They originated in the late 70s or early 80s.
• There are also Hidden Minnies, Donalds, and Goofys.
• They can be removed from WDW at any time.
• New ones are popping up all the time!
• Cast Members are always willing to help locate difficult ones.

Think you’re a Disney Expert?? See how much you know….look at the pictures below and see how many you can locate! Find the Hidden Mickey in the picture, then name the location!

Next time you’re at WDW, grab a Hidden Mickey Book and try it! But be warned….it becomes addictive!!! ;)

You did a great job with those HMs, Heather! Lots of fun and just what I needed to distract me from my current planning obsession over my anniversary booking extravaganza yesterday:)

I hope you have a relaxing weekend!

I love the Hidden Mickeys!! I think I will get the book for DD before our next trip - which almost certainly will not be until 2013. :sad2:

Love the ticker, KOOK!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Very nice....however....I'm a bit skeptical about you sticking with those specific resorts:rolleyes1 .........popcorn::

2013 sounds good for the Hidden Mickey Book...Willow still might be little young to truly appreciate them. However, you can totally introduce the HMs on your DL trip and cruise:thumbsup2

Hello right back! But I'm not sure whether you were agreeing with Heather's praising my ticker OR agreeing with her skepticism about my keeping it the way it is:rolleyes:

She actually started getting into it this last trip. I mean, most of the HIDDEN Mickeys she found were not all that "hidden," but she definitely got the idea and loved finding them in the wall paper and carpets. I think she will be really excited about it by the next time we go to WDW. :woohoo:

Just finished catching up on your TR...I was really behind!!

I'm going to get my son and dad the HM Cruise book. They have one for DL, too, if I'm not mistaken. I bet there are several in your resort, also...might be fun to see if Willow can find them when y'all have some downtime:thumbsup2

Time to start working on this next installment! Have a great weekend!

Wow - I didn't know they had a HM Cruise book. I am going to look for that to give Willow for Christmas. :thumbsup2

So, I am going to get the HM DCL book for DD for Christmas. And I was thinking that I would order the DLR one too, and surprise her with it on the surprise trip.

I WAS. Until today when I called to talk to a CM about ordering some kind of present to have waiting in the room for her when we get there. And now I am crazily considering spending something like $200 on a birthday surprise in the room - the door would have a "surprise" sash on it when we walked up, there would be presents in the room, a birthday banner, a Mickey plush, balloon, autograph book, the DLR HM book, etc., etc., etc. What am I thinking?????

I have a disease. :sad2: Help me.............

:rotfl: I'm thinking many people on the DisBoards have your same disease!! I would love to do something like this for my kids...the only problem...I would have to get THREE separate gifts! That would cost an arm and a leg:laughing: I really would like to do something special for them on the cruise...just not sure what. OR...maybe I could have something left for them in our room at WDW before the cruise...perhaps items for the cruise. Who knows??!! I have 6 months or more to plan.

And by the way....I think your surprise sounds absolutely wonderful!! Go for it.....and sorry in advance for supporting your addiction. If you want someone to talk you out of it, perhaps you need to speak with a non-Disney person:laughing:

Oh, you can come up with a great surprise for them!! It's so fun!!!!

And you know all I really want is for you to talk me into it. ;) :rotfl: Seriously, I'm totally going to do it, it's just a matter of making myself agonize about it first. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Kind of like my discovery tonight of the Cinderella's Castle play set. Obviously, Santa will be leaving it this year. But first I have to give him a hard time about all the money he is spending!!

Board shut down right as I was posting - ended up in a double post! Sorry. ;)

I saw that playset at WDW...and the monorail one, too. Looked really cute!:thumbsup2 Faith has the little Princess "PollyPockets"...aren't those the dolls that go with the Castle?? She's going to love it! As I type, the kids are watching Beauty and the Beast:laughing: And it's taking me forever to get this reply done because I'm watching it, too:rotfl:

The last time I saw Beauty & the Beast...DH and I were at YC waiting for Iluminations to start :cloud9: I still can't believe we watched a Disney movie when we had no kids around :yay::yay: We WERE in WDW after all :goodvibes

Pas....what else would you be watching at WDW??!!!:confused3  Very appropriate for an adult only trip;) Ok....perhaps I have forgotten, but what is a F&G trip??? Should I know what that acronym means?

Would you believe that at lunch, we were all talking about our next Disney trip, and dad says..."you won't believe what I watched this morning!" Of course I knew since I was viewing the same thing....Beauty and the Beast! If any outsider would have heard our lunch conversation, they certainly would think that our family was a bit off!....Disney this, Disney that...then DS10 brought out the WDW Trivia book....then Pop brings out the Best of WDW book....:rotfl: You know your children are brainwashed when DS4 and DD5 pray each night that they will have a great time at WDW:rolleyes1

No one on here has brainwashed children, they are just highly evolved in their Disney knowledge!:rotfl:

Sometimes I think people will think my six year old is werid because all she wants to talk about is Disney. Which rides are her favorite, which rides are the oldest and the order that she wants to ride them in when we go next! Sometime it even gets to be a bit much for me!:confused3

We have the Cinderella's Castle playset and the monorail set and I have to say, they have held up way better than I thought that they would. We have had both for about 3 years and they have even held up to the 2 year old. This year Santa is bringing the Contemporary and the Animal Kingdom sets. (You gotta feed that addiction!)

I hope eveyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn't get caught up in any of that dangerous Black Friday shopping!

Christine
