3 Generations! 2 Resorts! 10 Days! DxDp! 3000 Pictures! - Saying Good-Bye!

What a great ending of the day at ohana and then wishes. Sorry dh and the boys missed it but Im sure them getting to sleep was much more important especially for the next day.

We did H&V breakfast back in 09 and loved it. I am so sad that handy manny and oso werent there then. those really were the boys favorites at the time but it took disney a little while to update. Only the older son knew jo jo and goliath so I dont even think that show was on anymore during the time we went. Anyway I do remember the food being good and the entertainment was great too. Sorry you missed rope drop.

Have no idea how I missed your TR link:confused3....I am subbing, and going to read. Too busy ch-ch-changing. Your family is beautiful!:thumbsup2

By the way, my sister finally started reading your cruise TR...in fact we were talking about it yesterday:laughing: We both agreed we will have to get up early and get on CC before the crowd appears...not sure if she post and make comments (she's the official Dis lurker) but she's following along:thumbsup2

Well, in case she's still lurking, tell her I said "Welcome!" Getting the light breakfast items brought to our room was great for us. We didn't have to wake up too early & still got out of room at a good time. Even though I wanted to be lined up by 8:30 to get off the boat. But, really, it worked out leaving the room at 8:45. It was still early enough that the late rising people weren't leaving yet & the first mass of people were already off the boat. Do your families like a big breakfast? If so, you could hit the buffet real early.

Never again will I make that mistake!:rotfl: Next time, instead of checking 3 times for park openings, I'll check 5! A chronic planner can never be too careful;)

Thanks!....too busy changing???:confused3 I'm so surprised...why would you ever change a reservation?:rolleyes1 Glad you hopped over!

:lmao: I feel quite confident that she's still the Dis Stalker....thanks for the info about room service. I'm thinking that's the option we need to go with...much quicker! I certainly want to get my pick of lounge chairs:laughing: ...not that I'll be lounging that much with 3 kids!

Disney Hollywood Studios Morning
Day 7

After a fun filled breakfast, everyone headed over to Star Tours…the line wasn’t long at all, surprisingly enough. Pop and I decided we weren’t going to ride it…simulators don’t always do well with us.

Dad and I decided to venture over to….

DSC_4082.jpg

I completely realize and admit that I’m quite the Disney Dork, but this exhibit really is awesome…it would be interesting for those who aren’t quite into Disney as my family. There was a wealth of information about Walt Disney and his life…lots of pictures and actual items that he used.

DSC_4091.jpg

For some reason, I always get a little sad when I think about him not being able to actually see Walt Disney World and the finished product….very sad that his life had to be cut short before his dream came to fruition.

DSC_4083.jpg

DH and I watched the movie clip a couple of years ago…dad and I didn’t have time…but the film is worth seeing... it was really good, too. If I had more time, I could have spent another 30 minutes just reading and taking it all in. So…if you’re a Disneyaholic…then this exhibit is a must do for you!

We met back up with the others over by Star Tours. DH informed me that I would have been fine on the ride…wasn’t bad…but I’ll still pass. Each of our children HAD to have a separate picture on the Star Wars vehicle (not sure what it’s called??) And then they didn't want a picture with all 3 of them on it together! Not gonna bore you with all those pictures:rolleyes:

DSC_4098.jpg

Since the Star Wars weekends were going on throughout June, there were some pretty cool things set up….Pop and Stephen decided to have a little fun…being silly (so easy to do at WDW, isnt' it?!)

Time for…..

IMG_6370.jpg

The stand-by line was at 70 minutes :scared1:…thank goodness for FPs!!

DSC_4118.jpg

DSC_4120.jpg

Who doesn’t love this ride??!!! Well…I guess there are a few, but this is like my ‘do or die’ ride! NOT gonna miss it. That’s why I run like a mad woman for FPs. Here’s a little secret…on a perfect DHS morning, we would have made rope drop….then, I run to get FPs, when the others catch up, I’ve got them, then we jump in line with a very short wait time. Therefore, getting to do TSM twice in one day without long waits….try it!

Here is my score along with either Jesse or Faith…don’t remember. NOT great, huh??! DS10 reminds me of this each time he sees this picture…oh well….:rolleyes1

DSC_4125.jpg

When we were finished, it was raining. Luckily we come prepared for those FL rain showers…however…this wasn’t just a shower…it was a DOWNPOUR!!! No kidding!!! It was flooding!!! I actually kind of enjoyed it....what's a Disney trip without a storm?!

IMG_6392.jpg

Somehow we got separated between TSM and the GMR….DH, Stephen & Jesse ended up together. We waited it out under the shelter by the GMR. And let me tell ya….I am soooooo glad that I paid an extra $10 for these stroller covers!!! I felt so very sorry for people with drenched strollers. Faith and Jesse could actually sit in the stroller with the cover over it while we pushed forward through storm.

DSC_4128.jpg

DSC_4127.gif

Then I really felt sorry for those people who didn’t have ponchos! There were some wet individuals to say the least. We carry a supply ponchos in our back packs…the throw away kind. While it rained buckets, we decided to do the GMR…when we came out…it was almost clear …kind of….still drizzling.

We ran over to….

DSC_4104.jpg

Jesse and Faith really wanted to see this…Stephen not so much, but he still enjoyed it after it was all said and done.

DSC_4113.jpg

DSC_4112.jpg

If you have small children, then this is a must do! Lots of fun for them!!! DD5 and DS4 danced and sang the whole time. Warning, though…you have to sit on the floor. And they kinda make you sit close, so no spreading out…a bit tight.

DSC_4105.jpg

Stay tuned….up next……lunch at 50s Prime Time!!!

No TSM??!!:scared1: What in the world? That's like my do or die ride. Then DD5 would rather ride TOT:confused3

Yeah...I *like* TSM. I just don't get all the hoop-la around it. We decided we would rather ride Star Tours right away and be sure to get on that at least twice rather than worry about TSM. And we certainly weren't going to be waiting over an hour for it!!

Geoff tells me this is a "speeder."

Honestly...I'm probably not going to wait in any line for an hour...lots of people do it, but we've never had to...thank goodness!

My son just read this and said..."Mom! I knew what that was!! Why didn't you ask?!".....I have no idea...just didn't feel like yelling upstairs for him, I guess:confused3. He is the Star Wars expert in the house. Tell Geoff thanks!;)

Looks like a lot of fun at DHS!!! Although the rain was a little :scared1:. :rotfl: good thing you had the stroller covers.

Y'all should try the beach for Wishes...or better yet...try the Poly
:lmao: If I listen to you, we will spend the next ten years trying out every resort at WDW!!!! :rotfl: Hmm, maybe that's not such a bad thing. ;)

Love, love, love TSM!!! That ride is sooo cool! Glad y'all didn't let the rain get y'all down & still had some fun. That new Disney Junior Live show is so cute. Reid had a blast! Can't wait to hear about lunch. I haven't eaten at Prime Time since 2004 but really enjoyed it when we had gone.

Enjoying your trip report so much!!!!! Pictures are great, you have a beautiful family. My husband and I are taking our 5 children in August for 10 nights..and my mom too!!!! We are very excited:yay::yay::yay:...Thanks for sharing!!!!

Are you taking a stroller or renting one? DH thought Faith was old enough to walk, however he was glad I spent the extra money and got 2.

:rotfl2: Well...here's an idea....just stay for 2 solid weeks and do a split stay...you'll have everything knocked out super quick;)

We all kinda like the rain...makes the trip more interesting:laughing: And actually clears the parks out!!! Although, if it rained everyday that wouldn't be much fun at all...but a couple of times...no problem!

Thanks so much! So you have 3 generations going, too!!!:dance3: That will be fun for everyone....we love having my parents with us...makes for some great memories! And your 10 night trip is right around the corner! Are your kids crazy with excitement??! It's funny...sometimes when you tell people you are going to Disney for 10 days, they look at ya like you've got 3 heads! I've heard it all..."what can you do at Disney for 10 days?!" ... "Why would you want to waste 10 days at Disney??" HA! If they only knew, right?!

Happy Planning...hope your trip is very Magical!!!

Heather

Almost caught up :rotfl: We loved the FW Cabins!!! I didn't realize how much there was to do there until AFTER our trip. Now we are too big for a cabin... We did the campfire, and wishes on the beach, and I love that they piped in the music. Didn't do the main pool (too many of us for a golf cart), but we were steps away from one of the quiet pools:thumbsup2 We won't do the Studios this trip, but my kiddos LOVED the H&V Breakfast. It wasn't crowded at all, so they got lots of character time, and we sent oldest DS (16 or 17) to get FP for TSM right after rope drop...the return time was ALREADY 11am! My DS who was 8 knocked the container of syrup onto the floor and it broke...poor thing, shut down half the buffet, they made him feel better though. Don't think the other families appreciated it....syrup happens:confused3 My DH says we are banned for life now:laughing:

BTW my new stroller came with a free rain cover...:cheer2:

:cheer2: new stroller + FREE rain cover:dance3: Heaven knows you will probably need it.

"Syrup happens"??!!! :rotfl2: Okay I bet people were staring holes through y'all:rotfl:

I just realized what your WL ticker said...how fitting for you!!!! My guess is it WILL change. Perhaps while you're at work, you'll have time to lurk on some other resort threads:thumbsup2

Great updates!! I truly admire your ability to not only update frequently, but to edit all your photos!! They are too cute!! :thumbsup2 I've loved your food pictures, but I'm not going to comment on each one because that would take FOREVER since I'm sooooo behind!! :sad2: Good for you running like a madwoman for TSM FPs!!! :lmao: It's so true (and necessary!!) I'm looking forward to hearing about the rest of your day in DHS!! :goodvibes

I feel quite confident that she's still the Dis Stalker....thanks for the info about room service. I'm thinking that's the option we need to go with...much quicker! I certainly want to get my pick of lounge chairs:laughing: ...not that I'll be lounging that much with 3 kid!

Yep...I am the dis stalker...have been to busy to read up on stuff...Maybe tonight while DH is working. Wait...can I call him DH since technically he hasn't been to Disney since we have had kids?):confused3

Loved the DHS updates Heather!

MY DD still must do the Disney Junior show no if's and's or but's about that she loves it! :lovestruc I love seeing her just be a kid they grow up so fast....DS 11 just rolls his eye's but he will join us for his sister...

I have the same TSM strategy as you :thumbsup2 dash for passes, ride and come back, one thing I love is this ride actaully helps out with the RNR and TOT lines, as soon as we hope off of TSM the first time I jump in line for RNR the TOT...if I move fast enough I can do both in about 30 mins or less (In AUGUST to boot!)

I usually skip star tours too. My dh loves it and its one of his favorites. You know what they say opposites attract.:lmao:
Im glad you were prepared for that downpour. Those stroller covers were awesome. I bet people were looking at you thinking "wow why didnt we think of that".

I have to update daily while school is out:laughing: Once we start back, it's gonna slow down...way down. Trying to get as much done as possible.

I think DH is appropriate...you must use the Dis Lingo to be a true diser:laughing:

Holy cow! I could definitely travel with you:rotfl2:! We have the same plans!! And you're sooooo right...you can knock those rides out quick with the correct timing. Of course we need to keep our plans on the down-low :rolleyes1...it won't be successful once everyone realizes how well it works...

I seriously felt bad for those soaked people...but never can figure out why you wouldn't go to FL prepared for rain...it's like a daily thing there during certain months of the year:confused3 Does Disney sell rain covers for their strollers?? Come to think of it, I'm not sure that I saw any. If they don't, they could make a pile of money on them:laughing:

Heather love the update on DHS. I can not believe they opened early and you did not get wind of it. Sounds like something that would happen to me, just when you think you have the perfect plan :rotfl:

Hollywood and Vine looked like fun for the kids. I use to love star tours and DH and I are both looking forward to trying out the new one. Have not been to TSM hope we can do it this trip. I want to do One Mans Dream too.

Looking forward to you review of 50's PT. I have an adr for Brown Derby but we are still going back and forth about going to AK. As of now we have an adr for Yak&Yeti but if we decide to head back to DHS I am thinking 50's PT we ate there years ago and I recall the food being good.

Hey Shelia:wave:

Okay....you're making me laugh:rotfl:..."I have an ADR here, but if we go here, but maybe here..." Spoken like a true RCer...the girls would be proud of you!

We ate at Brown Derby last year (a review is on my 2010TR) and really enjoyed it!:thumbsup2...did the Fantasmic Package. We skipped Fantasmic this year because we had other stuff we wanted to do. Next time we'll go back.

I think you will REALLY enjoy One Man's Dream...take your time and read;) It doesn't get busy at all...if you aren't a true Disney Fan, I guess it holds no appeal.

Now back to getting the 50s Prime Time post finished!
