I get mixed reactions talking to people about my upcoming WDW trip and DVC. In the morning, ran into a guy I did some work with a couple years ago. When he asked what's up I told him I'm going on vacation next week to WDW and I'm excited.
He told me how he took his young family last year. We exchanged similar experiences of taking very young kids to Disney. His tone was definitely about the expense as I said he should take them again when they're older. Here's the deal with WDW, the cost is the cost. If you really enjoy it, you need to make the vacation a priority and that's it. Rice and beans when we get home.
I'm helping a lady in another division with something outside of my responsibility. I have some technical knowledge and they need my help. While working with her yesterday, we started talking vacation because I wanted her to know I'll be out of office next week. To my surprise, she's a DVC owner since 2001. She told me DVC was the best thing they did. Her kids are in their mid-twenties and still want to vacation with her.
And that's the way the conversations have gone. Pure excitement for DVC/WDW or luke warm or 'Why would you do that?'.
More reasons not to care what others think.
Can't wait for Sunday!
