When we go to Disney in February, we only have 3 whole days to spend at the parks. I hate to skip a park, but we just don't have the time. Which park would you skip?

Our DD's are 9 and 3.:wave2:

We have opted to skip Animal Kingdom. We actually have four park days and one "plus" day that we'll hopefully use at Typhoon Lagoon. However, we've decided that considering our daughters' ages and interests, AK is the place to skip and we are going to Magic Kingdom two days instead. (I guess if we're REALLY bored on day II we can always hop over to AK - but I seriously doubt that will happen ;))

I've heard Animal Kingdom is a "glorified zoo" it is "all uphill" and "humid as heck" because of the foliage.

Since we have a very nice zoo here - the kids don't care much about animals (oldest DD wants to "pet a giraffe" ha!) and we know they'll be more interested in Princess stuff and character rides...we're opting for MK. MGM appeals to them because of the playhouse disney shows and story times. Epcot will be fun - we're doing a CP and eating in Germany. :)

We have actually done this. We hopped.... we bought a 4 day hopper (never expires), and would start in one park and hop to another later in the day. For instance... start in MK, hop to Epcot that evening, next day, start in AK, hop to the Disney- MGM Studios later, and last day, start at the Studios and hop to either MK or Epcot. Not only does it afford you the best of all of the parks, but you have a head start on your next vacation!

The hopping is an option, but I am worried that my 3 year old DD might get too tired from it. Would it be too much to start a day in one park, go back to hotel to rest for an hour or two, and then go to another park in the evening?

Depending on what time the parks close during your visit (and assuming your DD will lay down for a nap at such an exciting place) I think that's a reasonable idea.

My DDs won't nap there, I'm sure - they seldom do at home.

Considering your DD's ages and assuming their interests, I'd say do a half day at MGM and AK - but stay a whole day at Epcot and MK. :)

We are pretty much doing that in a few weeks.

We only have 3 full days. Here is our plan:
Arrival day (we should get in about 2pm) we will run over to MGM, mainly to ride ToT, Star Tours & the Great Movie Ride

Then the next day will be an All-Day Magic Kingdom day

The following day will be spent at Epcot

The last day will be the morning hours in Animal Kingdom & then hop over the Magic Kingdom for the rest of the day :)

That's exactly what we did! We had a 3 day park hopper pass, and made it to all 4 parks. I wish we had skipped AK. We were only there for 2 hours until the 3 yo wanted to go back to the hotel and take a nap. This was at 10 a.m. There were very few rides that the 3 yo was big enough to go on, and even fewer that he was interested in. The animals were okay, but it's not as good as our local zoo.

Every day we spent the morning in one park and the late afternoon/evening in another, with a nap and pool break in between. Hopefully, you are staying onsite. This makes the break much easier. We stayed at the Dolphin, and it was perfect. Because we went to AK, we didn't get to do much in Epcot. The small amt. of time we were there, my 3 yo loved World Showcase.

Thanks for your ideas. I think we will do Magic Kingdom and Epcot the first two days and see if we feel like going to the Animal Kingdom on the third or just go strait to MGM. It makes it a little more difficult to plan PS for restraunts on our last day, but I think we should be alright (I hear it isn't too crowded yet in the parks). :wave2:
