OK I hate to start out negative but Room 2153 is the worst room on the ship. Rocking, rattling, ticking and tocking...no sleep for me.
We love our room steward...OTTIE IS THE BEST!!!! She was always friendly and such a hardworker. Ottie always made it a point to stop and say hello and chat for a while. She is on her 8 week leave right now but said she would be returning. We would return at night to towel creatures and DD's dolls tucked in under her blankets. She loved it.
Deck 2 aft is however a great location. All the restaurants are a flight of stairs away and the aft elevators are empty. Also getting off the ship is a piece of cake...one flight down. I did laundry more often than I thought b/c it is only a few rooms away.
We awoke around 7:30 and got dressed for the pool. We head to Lumieres for bfast. This is easier for us than the buffet b/c of DD (22 mo). It is better to be served than lugging DD around a buffet. I highly reccommend the sit down...Yummy hash browns and eggs, pancakes and the best bran muffins I have ever had. DD ate banannas and fruitloops. Choc milk to drink. She didnt like the pancakes....she prefers the frozen Aunt Jemima (TERRIBLE TWOS).
We head up to the pool after this...too much wind makes the swimmydiaper ear unbearable. She is freezing from being half wet/half dry. The swimmydiaper ear is basically a sprinkler...good for tiny babies but sucks for those 18 mo and up that seek more in a swimmy experience. This wasnt just me talking...all the parents sitting around the ear said the same thing. I hope DCL can come up with something else. My poor DH ends up chasing DD around Decks 9 and 10 for quite awhile. We grab a snack for DD (yogurt at the buffet ) and do some exploring of the ship. DD loves Mickeys Mates (shopping).
We try the lunch at Topsiders. Disappointing after all the wonderful meals we have had so far on board. Limited selection of food. DD however LOVES the mac n cheese. She ate at least once everyday of our cruise and room service does have it.
We had a 1pm booking for Flounders...drop her off painlessly and get some time in at Quiet cove pool. No prob finding chairs here.LIFE IS SWEET!!! I do keep checking the beeper though...cant help it. But I am never paged. Pick up DD 2 hours later...they say she was great except for the diaper change...she freaked out but no surprise there.
We all take showers and a bath for DD. We take naps and wake up for dinner. Take formal pics...long lines but endure and have dinner at Lumieres. Our dinner rotation is great b/c it puts us here for Formal nite.
Camembert Fritters were great, pasta was BLAND, Creme Brulee was excellent.
After dinner we change and go to Studio Sea, the only clublike setting we can take DD to. She jumps on stage and dances the nite away. Gets her nice and tired. We try to take her to Golden Mickeys but she will not sit for it....too young still I guess. We take a quick stroll aroung Deck 4 and then head off to sleep. Thank God for Deck 4...it is a completely safe place to let the little ones run free. Secret Deck 7 was great too and even easier b/c it is like a hge public verandah and usually empty.
