2nd Fantasmic, after park closes?

There are 2 Fantasmic shows on August 3rd; one at 9pm and one at 10:30pm. However, park hours for HS that day show closing at 10pm. Is this right? I've heard that the 2nd show is usually less crowded, but do they really do one after the park closes?

Thanks, Lisa

They really do.

They usually do one right when the park closes. I would assume that this info is correct and you'll be more than fine going to the later one. And yes, the second show is a lot less crowded and the only one I'll go to.

Thanks! I've been to WDW at least 25 times and have never seen this show, due to the long lines, lol! I think I can manage a later one, after some of the crowds have left!

I did exactly this (with a post-close Fantasmic) in May--the stadium was half full and we sat in the center. Definitely a great opportunity to experience lesser crowds.

The 2nd performance has been a half hour after park close for several years. We've attended many times and never waited more than 10 minutes. I have rarely seen the theater more than half full either.

The vast majority of guests attend the first performance, which means the lines for the headliners can get very short. In June, we were able to ride Midway Mania and RnR twice each plus three visits through the Tower in less than 2 hours with no fast passes.

Enjoy the show.

It is not unusual for sure, but certainly not always the case as this sentence implies.

Yes.
Despite the large amount of seating, the first show fills up. For the first show, you need to be there 1/2 hour before to get a seat (all the seats are good).

For the second show, you can walk in just before it starts and get a seat.

Sounds like a no-brainer?
Well, the reality is that in the August heat and humidity, people get tired and kids get irratable - they want to go home. Most of the shows are done by 6pm and all that is left are attractions with long standy lines. Staying for the second show is only enjoyable if you have had a midday nap, a late restaurant reservation or if you have evening FPs.

I've checked the schedules for the next few months. On nights with a 2nd show scheduled, it seems to always be a half hour after park close.

Yep, I see what you mean--I stand corrected.

I don't think it's been consistently like that for the last couple of years though, but I've been wrong before. ;)
