2BR BCV where we have multiple ticket needs *HELP*

Hi! Looks like we will be booking a 2BR villa with 8 adults. I know that 6 of us need tickets for the entire stay while the other 2 have the military special tickets and will only need MYW tickets for SOME of their stay....

Is is best to just buy a one day base ticket for all 8 people on the room ressie and then when we arrive, then we can upgrade 6 of them at the park to 10day hoppers and the military couple can upgrade separately to a 6 day hopper for themselves?

Or if one person in the room upgrades to a 10, everyone else on the same room ressie has to upgrade to the same 10 day ticket???

Does it make a difference if FreeDining is offer? I would think as long as we all had at least a one day as part of our ressie then Disney should not care if some in a room want more park days or not?

You can do a room-only reservation, and purchase tickets separately.

If you really want/need a package, you can purchase the minimum required tickets to get that package (free dining is usually 2 days, otherwise 1 day). Then once onsite, everyone can upgrade to whatever length/type ticket they need.

Everyone on a package reservation will need to have the same tickets in advance. Then what you do with the tickets after arrival doesn't matter.

If you are going to use the DDP then everyone has to have the same tickets. IF you buy tickets separate then you'll be fine. It is when you try to make it into a package that everyone has to have the same thing.

When booking BCV I don't think they fall into the category of Free Dining offers since it is a DVC resort.

The villas DO qualify for free dining on a cash reservation, NOT through points use or rental. But BCV are one of the smaller ones and if they have free dining, it's very unlikely that a 2BR villa would be available. You would have a better chance at a discount on the room.

If you are not married to BCV, you could consider BWV which is just across the water and is much bigger, so more chance of free dining in a 2BR. But still not a guarantee that one would be available.

If some of your party get military tickets AND MYW tickets, they may end up over paying. The majority of the cost is in the first couple of days, so make sure they compare the cost of getting separate tickets, or just adding days to their package tickets.
