265 free kindle e books on Amazon today

I always check the free books everyday on Amazon..
but today there are alot of them... 265....

You can download Kindle software onto your PC if you don't have a Kindle and read them there. I do it with my netbook.

No. The books are in kindle format which is not the regular epub format that the sony ereader uses.

Many of those titles have been free for a while. Some titles are free for a set number of purchases and then they change to their regular price. Ive seen books that are free for only a few hours.

BTW, you can buy them for free now at amazon.com and then download them to your kindle when you have it.

I do have a question though. I can only find the list of featured free books by going through your list. Each time I "buy" a free book, it takes me away from the list you linked to, and I keep having to come back here to find it again!

There has to be a better way!

I have been using the back button. I went looking for where to find it so I can find it in future weeks. Don't they do free books every Friday? Or am I confusing that with iTunes?

thanks! can i tell you i was happy to get the kindle but my next thought was oh great im going to spend a fortune on books now. i thought it would be the gift that keeps on taking. nice to know i can get something for free.

From your kindle, you can go to shop in the kindle store. Once there, go down to kindle top sellers. On the next page, move the cursor up and to the right where it reads "kindle top 100 free". This will bring up a page with the most actively purchased free books. List is updated hourly.
