.

Its my first trip abroad as an adult (Gone with parents but not paid much attention to travel details etc). . . And I have a few questions because I have no idea about it much.

I booked our holiday last night for Oct 2011 by the Disney UK 'package' and im paranoid that 'I will be forgotten about/I am not actually booked on flights/hotels' . . Can someone give me a sort of list when/if things arrive to stop my mind doing overtime. Yes, It is a while away yet but im still stressy until I know 'what is going on'. I take it that you have booked with Virgin Holidays? If so they you will have been given a holiday booking reference, which you can use to get onto Manage My Booking on the Virgin Holidays website, this will give you all the information about your booking and you can see what you are booked onto flight wise and hotelwise. Who did you book with just to confirm?

I have heard about this 'red envelope' but dont know much about it. This is what Virgin Holidays send your flight tickets etc out in, you will only get this if you've booked with VH

For the Orlando flight in the morning (10.25am - I think) when 'should' you arrive at the Airport ? They recommend 3 hours before

Also, With the flight. . . . Do they ask for a reservation number (Because I only have the Disney package number) or just for your name ? Who did you book with? Virgin or Disney?

Sorry, I have no clue =(

I've tried to answer above in bold for you! Hope that helps Gems

You probably know more than you think you do. As for the rest ..... well between everyone on here, this is where we get our info, advice and support. :goodvibes

When you log onto your Disney reservation online, everything that is on there is confirmed. :)

It is Virgin Holidays that has the red envelope. They send it out a couple of weeks before departure, but everything is on your booking number and can be looked up on the appropriate system, wherever you are checking in. [/COLOR]

Around 3 hours prior to departure, unless you have checked in online, in which case you can play with slightly less time.

First of all, contact Disney UK and ask them for your US reservation number. You will need this to make your online ADRs if you want to make use of the resort privilege of doing so at 190 days instead of the usual 180.

Secondly, go to the VA website, Manage my Flights section and put in your Disney UK booking 12345/S11 type format. You should have this. When it pulls up your flights you will see a different reference number. This is your flight locator number, although you don't have to have it with a package.

Sorry, I have no clue =(

Hope this helps. Ask if it doesn't make sense. You haven't asked many questions on here yet. ;)

You can do ADRs online. You just need to ask Disney UK for your US reservation number. YOu should be able to get it over the phone, but they only give it if you ask for it.

As for the VA site, it can take up to 72 hours for the flight reservations to reflect online so it is possible that you are still a bit early. You should be able to do it by the weekend.

When you put in your Disney reservation number on VA site, you have to add your name or lead passenger name rather. It will say it can't retrieve your booking - this is because you have used a reference in a different format. If you look to the left, in the centre of the screen, and you may have to scroll down to see this, it asks for your flight details and departure date. YOu need to enter this to generate your VA number. Make a note of the VA number when you get it as once you have this, you can bypass the extra info part of the screen. It may still be a bit early to get into it now though as you only booked today, didn't you?

Thank you =).

I booked the holiday through Disney UK=).

I put the Disney UK booking 12345/S11 type format of code into Virgin Atlantic and it doesnt register this ? Along with First and Last name of the Lead passenger. Hmm ?

One more, So I cant do ADR's online ? I have to call ?

Thank you agaaain ! =)

Virgin Atlantic don't have a lot of their flights linked with booking reference numbers next year yet. I have been trying to pre-book my June 2011 plane seats but I can't (and I booked the holiday 3 weeks ago), so I emailed them to ask why. Just keep checking!

Yes you can make ADR's on line! And you don't actually need your Disney reservation number - anyone can book online without a problem, you just need to enter a phone number to link your bookings (use the hotel number where you will be staying, the format can go funny with UK phone numbers). However if you have your Disney booking number, AND if you are staying onsite, then you can book your meals slightly earlier than off-site guests!:thumbsup2

I don't think that the VA site will accept this booking ref, you need your actual flight locator which is a letter two numbers and a further 3 letters usually, your agent has to give this to you. Then you will be able to look at your flights on the VA website and book seats etc.

The Disney UK ones are in the same format as the VH booking numbers and the site does take them. You just have to go through a bit more of a rigmarole retrieving your booking, but once you have done this, it generates the VA reference. I got mine that way and pre booked my seats last November, using the Disney UK reference. Once I had done that, there was a reference that appeared on my flight page, which is what I now use, but both work.

Oooh so confusing ! Hahah.

So im just as confused. Haha. . . You think it'l be a tad too early still ?

It could well be, so don't panic yet. When I get home tonight I will log into my booking with my Disney reference number and see how it appears on the screen. They may have changed it which could be confusing you.

:thumbsup2 They don't make it easy do they! :goodvibes

Nope.

It's quite ridiculous actually. So many numbers, codes and passwords. They tell you not to write them down or use the same one. Then you get reservation numbers added into the mix. I am good at remembering numbers. However in the last week I have managed to lock myself out of two accounts.

Okay Rachey, I have managed to check it for you. It takes mine fine as described and I really think your struggle to call it up is simply due to the fact that you are still a wee bit early.

This is posted beneath the log in area

Please note that you may not be able to retrieve your booking until your ticket has been issued. This might take up to 48 hours after making your booking online.

Give it a little more time, otherwise just give them a call.

Well, I know why it wasn't working :) . . My reference number had a "-" in it e.g. 12345-S00 instead of 12345/S00.

One problem solved =).

Nooow I got to the part with the flight number and date in it and searched that, with that. . . I guess it is only this years 'October' so I guess I have to wait until the October is finished to check for next years Oct ?

Aaaah, I didn't realise it was October next year. I though you were going next summer. Yes, you need to wait until 330 days from your return date to be able to log into it. It is roughly 11 months so by november this year you can. I had to wait until last November to pull up this year's October flight.

Good point about the - and / = The Disney site wants the - so you use it, try it on the VA one and it tosses it out. Consistency would be nice. At least you don't have to worry now. You can do what I did for a few months and keep logging into your Disney ressie and looking at it .... and looking at it again ..... and some more .... :lmao:

Exactly ! Less stressed now =D.

Thank you for de-confusing me =).

Roll on November so I can look at my ressie and book UK flights and hotel =).

Woooo.

Well if it's any consolation, you have to wait half as long as I had to from when I booked. I had to wait 8 months to my 11 month mark! Did I tell you I booked this trip before I unpacked my suitcases from our trip last year? :lmao: I am now pricing up and getting quotes for next year too :rolleyes1 and we only fly out in 6 weeks. ;)

Hahahhaa, You are funny ! You Disney addict =)

It's quite serious! :lmao: I keep the time on my mobile phone permanently set to EST. Occasionally someone will point out that the time is wrong. I simply inform them that my phone would like to be in Orlando. The time is correct! :rotfl2:
