I called MS on Tuesday. My 200 year old MIL is coming with us all of a sudden. We need an accessable GV, we are arriving tomorrow.

At first the girl tells me that its impossible, there are no accessable GVs at OKW. I tell her about the new elevator buildings and the older unit that starts on the first floor, in a very pleasent, cheery tone, I tell her that her defeatest attitude is very un-disneylike and she should call over to whever is playing room controller and see if its possible to secure one of those rooms for me.

She says "OK, plese hold", CLICK

Twenty five minutes later, she comes back and says "No problem sir, its taken cares of, sorry about the wait, but we had to do alot of shuffling."

I thought her initial "That's impossible" was odd.

Tomorrow morning we leave.

My Mother always taught me if you can't say anything nice than don't say anything at all.

I would write a letter to Disney and tell them the CM that helped you went above and beyond the call of duty. A Grand Villa with a days notice.:smooth:

Have a Magical trip with your 200 year old MIL.::MickeyMo

I wonder if the poor soul whose GV ( they gave to Rich) will get what they need when they arrive.

I feel sorry for the CM who had to deal with this on 1 days notice:( This CM could have been new and not up on how to handle this.

Anyway have a nice trip and don't forget some flowers for that CM with the defeatest attitute and maybe her attitute will change for the better

when you get back please let us know how or if you got what you requested room, i hope it all works out for you and your family, its nice to know if plans change that ms is willing to work with you . after all its not like your asking for an upgrade from a studio to a gv just because your beautiful young 200 year old MILdecide she would like to visit ::MinnieMo &::MickeyMo

Be nice. It sounds like he already had a GV booked. (he always does). Based on his glowing reviews of the GV that is all we will book now too.

Very glad they were able to help you get the accessible one. I just know that I am going to end up having a 200 year old MIL also.

Mary

We got room 6322, new elevator building, absolutely perfect....well close.

The elevator is great, the bathroom is perfect, the counters are great, it really is almost perfect....just one problem, my 200 year old mother in law is only three feet tall. She can't even see the top of the bed, let alone mount it. They really need a ladder r something. At Three O'Clock in the morning, mil has to pee, she climbs down from the mountainous bed, but is unable to re-mount it. So we go in there at 7:00 am and find her sleeping on the floor.

Something really needs to be donw about the height of those beds in HA units.

Can't believe how crowded it was last night, Epcot was mobbed.

Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! :p Obviously, neither your wife nor your daughter read the DIS, right?? :teeth:

Hope you all are having a good time! :D

Not only would Rich have already had a GV booked, and therefore only been making a change to his request - to handicapped, he also did all of the handicapped room dislikers out there a favor by taking one out of circulation, so no able bodied person has to put up with a handicapped room.

This selfless act alone should be rewarded. Maybe a complementary tour of the BWVs long hallways.....or some pigs feet.

It does seem weird that she didn't know there were HA GVs at OKW......

Awgeedurn, she is only 3 feet tall, too!!! I guess this means she can't open the sliding door to the balcony. I am positve Rich has one that LOCKS on the top.:p

I thought her initial "That's impossible" was odd.

Tomorrow morning we leave.

Though not appropriate, maybe she was responding in kind to the way you were treating her.

People can somtimes act out when you belittle them and treat them poorly.

Often times it's a matter of perception, and unless otherwise addressed, faulty perception becomes reality.

Isn't that ridiculous?

Why would anyone assume that I was anything less than pleasent?

First, I knew Tuesday was late to be asking about HA for a Saturday arrival, second, I knew I wanted help from this person.

I think that even the thought of being anything other than congeniel with her would be stupid.

Though not appropriate, maybe she was responding in kind to the way you were treating her.

At this point our conversation consisted of me identifieing myself and the reservation we were talking about, then telling her I needed an HA unit because my 200 year old MIL was joining us.

Where was there any reason, chance or even a possibility of being awnry?

Wow, many of you must be extremely difficult to deal with and generally nasty people if that is how you deal with others. It would never ocur to me to be anything less than extremely pleasent and jovial when asking for something so difficult and important.

I really feel sorry for those that go through life with such darkness and despair surrounding every aspect of your beings.

All this from the guy that says we shouldnt complain about the 4:00 check in time.

Take a drive to Superwalmart and buy a stepstool for your 200 yo mil. The poor sweetie.

Have you busted anyone for breaking room occupancy yet? ;)
