Willing to get to MK at 5am for a 6am opening.

How crowded was it last year from 6am to 9am?

How crowded was it the final few hours from about 4:30am to 6am?

Forgive me for not recalling the poster's name -- but she posted links to her report from last year in one of the 24 hour threads for this year.

Park was NOT busy in but early morning. At 8am, she was the only person on her bus heading to MK and she did a number of rides as one would expect to do when crowds are small prior to 11am or so. She then took a midday break. As we may only head to opening and not the rest of the day, I don't recall her reports for the rest of the day.

I am sorry that I don't recall her name.

6-10 am and 3-6 am were great last year.
Not going to lie rope drop was crazy but we were at the bus stop at 5 and at the park - we opted to split up because the bag check lines were a little crazy. I took the bag and sister's purse and went to bag check, she took DD and they went into the center of the crowd. There was no way I could get back over to them in the 10/15 minutes we had left so we just meet inside by City Hall. We walked on a lot/very little wait (but we didn't go near Fantasyland) and then left for a late breakfast at Ohana. Original plan was to come back for the fireworks, but we had a late night the night before and napped a little longer than we expected after the pool time. We made it back about 10 and went to Fantasyland. While we were there we hit everything SDMT (we did that later in the trip).

If you are going to do something similar to this book your FP+ for later in the evening 10-11-12, etc. We changed all of our FP+ as we were heading out to breakfast and it worked perfectly.

Have fun - it was an amazing day!

I would bet a small fortune that 2 am to 6 am will be walk on for everything

Did not go last year, but was at leap year. The place was actually pretty packed even in the wee hours. The people excited about being there for the event were there to be there till the bitter end.

Rope drop, there was a mass of initial excitement at the turnstiles, but once inside the rides were walk on.

What date is this happening? We went last year later in the evening ... got to the end of Main Street and turned around. It was just plain crazy and packed like sardines. I'm willing to do just about anything, but wow. Not that. :)

This would be when all the teens and hard core disney nuts what to be there, because its cool and no on hardly get to go during these times, just guessing never been.

Last year it was emptyish from 6-10 then it swelled but the longest line I waited in was 45minutes for 7DMT. After 1am was pretty dead as well ( heck I managed to see Anna and Elsa with no wait), It got busy again around 4am for people who wanted to say they had opened and closed the park but pretty quiet overall.

These initial comments on being somewhat quiet from 6am to later in the morning are very encouraging. I am assuming that parents with little ones are not likely to be there in the wee hours of the morning. Getting 3-4 hours of low crowd time would be awesome!

Another reason that the morning is quitier is that it is a week day. The locals are at work. In the past when they have these 24 hour events, the locals show up after work.

It was pretty dead from opening to about noon. Then crowds picked up a bit, then the crowds really became unbearable around 7 when people started to come in for Wishes. I wouldn't go near Main Street from 7-1. After 2 am the crowds really died out.

We also found that even though it was advertised a ton of people didn't realize what was going on at MK. We talked to several people on the monorail after our brunch that were headed over to MK and they were totally clueless about the 24 hours and what they were about to walk in to.

Star Wars weekend is that day too so that will prob draw some people away
We are planning on going in the afternoon/night our selfs, maybe let the older kids stay up late for fun.
I'm actually more concerned about being to tired the next day then anything
