24 days to go and I just NOW remember DME!!

Ok everyone.....honestly. What do you all think my chances are of getting my DME package before I leave on October 9th? I've been so busy these past 3 months that I totally forgot to make the reservation!!

When I called MS I spoke to a lovely castmember who said she just recently spoke to a DME Manager on just this subject and he told her that "if a member does not get their package in time simply give the "airline luggage tag" to a DME Castmember at the desk and they'll retreive the luggage and deliver it to the resort just as if it had a yellow luggage tag on it". So that was kinda cool.

But I'm still hoping to get the package. What do you all think????

Ours took, well, let's see. I think it took 3ish weeks to get to us. And of course, now we don't even need it because we decided to rent a car . But regardless, it will probably be cutting it close, but I bet you'll get it in time. It has never taken us longer than 3ish weeks to get ours in the mail.

AND if you don't, you can always put your yellow tags in a scrapbook when you get home

I think your chances are pretty good that you'll get your tags and other paperwork in time. It may be close but we've found the system to work pretty well.

And yup, I'd trust them to retrieve my bags for me in the off chance that the luggage tags didn't get to you in time.

You're fine. Call DME directly, do not call Disney!!! DME needs a minimum of 10 days to print out your packet and get it to you...you should be fine.
But, call them tomorrow as soon as you can.

I already called MS. I didn't know we could call DME direct. Would you happen to have a telephone number for them? Or should I just call "Mears"?

Now, why in heaven's name would you call Mears???? Silly you. No need to do that. MS is always better than CRO (or whatever they are calling it now). But, still call DME directly. You have the number now.
Even if they don't have enough time to mail you your packet (which they do), as long as you are in their system, you can ride that bus. They will print you up vouchers and off you go. Of course you won't have luggage tags, but that's no biggie.

The whole thing about 'talking to DME and being told to just hand over claim receipts' is nothing new. That has always been in effect. It is tried and true....so if you decide to do that, you won't have any issues.

I got my DME info and luggage tags 12 days after I ordered them (I took note of when I called). Call them direct and plead to get it out ASAP!

Worst case, you deal with it at the airport counter in MCO. Just have your bag tag and reservation info at hand.

I received our yellow tags about 50 days in advance of the trip. At the 47 day mark I transfered the reservation to my AAA agent and received two more yellow tags. We may actually bring more than one piece of checked luggage each. I wonder if WDW will figure out where we are if the reservation # has changed since the first set was issued... hmmm.

Well everything is just fine! I called DME today direct and she confirmed my reservation and.....the package was mailed and I should be getting my tags by the end of this week or early next week!!

What has really thrown me this trip is Grand Jury!! I was selected back in April and sit two days a week...and....I'll be doing this for another 14 months or longer! So all my spare time is doing "domestic" things which doesn't leave me much time for "Disney" things! But this will not happend again!!
