...

The back up is cute, but not for a wedding!!! I'll be sure to send you sunny thoughts on your wedding day! I need to see pics from Tamu Tamu :goodvibes (and I also want what is best for you :rotfl:)

Good news is that unless it is a cold front moving thru, it usually doesn't rain here in March. That backup location looks more like the Contemporary Resort than AK. The decorations would not look the same at all!

DF and I spent a lot of time looking through the alcohol options, and we realized that if you do a BOC, it is best to offer beer, wine and mixed drinks (whatever they call them), since mixed drinks are cheaper than wine. Don't offer any premium beers, liquor or wine, that will save a lot!

:rotfl::rotfl:

The Dinosaur Lounge just screams Amanda to me, haha. :rotfl2: I definitely hope there is a better location for you. Personally I kinda like it, but then again I'm a huge science geek (including archaeology) and so is DF, but that would totally throw off the feel for you. I'm sure they'll find a better back up for you!

Lol you are showing your age ;) For me it was NKOTB:rotfl:

Um...let's PRAY for no rain:rotfl:
OMG! talk about showing my age-my first concert ever was NKOTB! i actually won tickets from z100 back in 1989! lol i had all things NKOTB even their tour jacket! how i loved donnie!!!!:lmao::rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

i pray there is no rain for you because i think the tamu tamu venue is going to be so awesome! usually at that time of year, it does not rain.

def do BOC. we also were debating what to do esp. since DF friend's are pretty big drinkers when they are all together. we figured BOC will come out cheaper because it will balance out with the non heavy drinkers. i feel that disney gives you an estimate that will be way over what in reality people will drink. we are also not doing a champagne toast as we are not big champagne people and people can just toast with their drinks. it is just an expense we feel is not necessary and i guarantee nobody will even notice. every wedding i have been to people always toast with whatever drink they have in their hand. i agree that you should cut that. good luck!:goodvibes

Haha oh doesn't it??!?! Lol, I figured you and Sarah would like it ;) I think that it's not likely to rain but I'm not trusting my odds!!

OMG I had everything...sleeping bag, sheets, pillowcases, posters...a Joey Doll (my fav!!):lmao:

Thanks for the input on the bar. We definitely are doing BOC I just thought it might cheaper to only offer beer and wine. Guess not, but that's ok. Whatever way is cheaper...I don't think we are going to have too many drinkers.
hahahah!!! i had all that also i only i had the donnie doll- and the pics on my walls from tiger beat and BOP. sickness i tell you!!!

yeah i figure with the exception of Df's 6 or 7 friends, noone will drink that much especially since it is in the early afternoon.

I don't know how the BOC thing works. I just offered soda, water and juices. For our toast we did the sparkling apple cider. If you have a lot of people that like to drink I say keep the BOC bar. We only had 2 or 3 people that would have had drinks so we cut out the alcohol completely. It wasn't worth it for a few people and they were fine with it.

I saw this and thought of you...

Mandy I hate to say this, but if they can't give you a different back up I'd consider changing my location altogether. Imagine how heart broken you would be if your dream wedding ended up being in a dinosaur confrence room.

If you don't have a lot of drinkers (and you are almost 100% positive that no one is going to have 5 drinks during your wedding) then have your planner base your budget on 3 drinks per person. That will knock your price down and if you happen to go over, the extra will be taken out of your $1500 deposit that you put down (and really, 40 people won't drink $1500 worth of ADDITIONAL drinks).

We cut ours from 6 drinks per person to 4 drinks and still ended up with a refund at the end.

Ohh I didn't know we could do this!! I will add it to my list! Thanks!!

 Joey was my favorite back then as well. Now, as an adult looking back, I think Jordan was cuter. :confused3
