To the OP - Thank you for that post. In July of 1982 my 3 1/2 week old son had a brain hemorrage that left him brain dead. The hardest thing I had to do was sign permission for organ donation. I knew it was the right thing to do, and the logical thing to do, but that didn't make it any easier. Call me selfish if you want, but at the time I didn't care about the other children who were being saved, I just wanted my son to be saved. Over time, I think it's helped with the healing process that we were able to do the organ donation. When ever I meet or read about someone who had an organ transplant as a child I think of it as my son blowing me a kiss from heaven. With your post, I thank you and your daughter for a mother's day kiss from my Michael.
Liz, Acklander...
22 years ago this July my son, Devin, lost his life 3 days after he was born. With him he took my dreams, my aspirations... and the name "Mom" from me.
My mother signed the papers for him to be a donor. I was too distraught.
Years later I heard that he donated at least six different organs, saving so many lives...![]()
He was more than a blessing, to me and so many others.
I smile today for several reasons....
I "met" TiggWDW on the American Idol thread. She is a sweet and lovable child, with an UNENDING love for Davey Archuleta. Your post makes me understand her so much more now. She's an amazing young lady, and you are VERY blessed.
Thanks for this post, Liz. For those of us who have lost a child, just knowing that our children's lives were not in vain... is a blessing indeed.

, I have really enjoyed posting with her. She was very supportive to me when I had to have an emergency surgery last week. She was very encouraging and sent me lots of virtual
hugs.
I just read your update. I'll be keeping you guys in my prayers.![]()
