21 in an OKW GW

So much for the theory that only renters act like this. This type of behaviour will lead to strict occupancy limits that are enforced. Why am I thinking about that SUV commercial where the doorman has to go back and open the door and let the other two guys out, wasn't it the Envoy or trailblazer?

I was trying to imagine how they did that! I suppose they could put 4 in the king in the master, two on the pull out, one on the loveseat, a couple of kids on the floor of the LR, 4 in the beds of teh other bedrooms and a few more on the floors up there! I CAN NOT imagine how awful it must have been for the folks in the unit BELOW them! Can you just hear all those feet tromping around above you?!?!?!?!?!?

What I can't believe is that no one noticed? It would be hard to miss 21 people coming and going.

How many keys will you need today? ... er... 21?

Too funny.

Can't imagine the bathroom lines for showers in the morning!

They probably just hopped into the hot tub or pool and got cleaned up there.

I don't have any problem with this...expecially in the GV!!

So many people stay with eight or ten, it averages out, We really shouldn't have any say or even reason to say anything about this. If they are comfortable, who are we to say its wrong?

Rules???? Who hasn't gone over the speed limit? Who hasn't taken that extra deduction? People in glass houses......

Thank you moderators for letting this thread go for a while. It's provided some much needed comic relief, intentionally or not.

I knew Nick would have the right images for this, and here's one more:p

Yw Granny, but we are watching! hehehe...

Imagine if there was a fire in the middle of the night.....

well as my Dad would say, we will never be wealthy because we refuse to be cheap.

I know if I had the room near them, it would have at least been reported. I can't believe people enjoy bragging about such, and no to me this is not a vacation, it's a concentration camp.

When we used to use all our vacation time for the "World Tour of Peace" (i.e. visiting my family or dh's), we increasingly found our growing family wedged into tighter and tighter accomodations. I recall one xmas trip at in-laws wherein dh, 3 yr old ds, and I were in a dble bed, 5-yr old was in a trundle bed, and dd (a few mos) was in a crib... ALL IN SAME 11 X 12 room. (And his family WONDERED why I was so grumpy...) Some folks call it togetherness... I call that insanity! And yet, had we gotten a hotel room -- they would have been offended. Go figure.

And that, my friends, is why I love my DVC. A bed to call my own... and SEPARATE beds (rooms, even!) for our kids as well! Granted, kids may think sleeping bag arrangements are cool, but when you're close enough to hear the other person breathe.. or blink.. or even THINK... you're too dang close!!! It's supposed to be a vacation!!

Maybe the OKW sardine group is dyslexic and thought "12" was "21."

. . . should be aware that everyone can see them for what they are

I wonder how many times that door was slammed each day? That would bother me!

Course, this sounds like soemthing my Dad would try to pull....
Luckily, my Mom always got her way!

Or if there were kids with super balls ( like one time when we were at OKW with a bunch like that above us), how many they could bounce at once at 6 am to annoy the downstairs neighbors! When that happened to us, I took the mop handle and banged the cieling. :teeth:

Tiggerfreak, are you by any chance a trapeze artist or a lion tamer?

With all this talk to 21 to a room (or a car) I gotta believe the other department your co-worker is in in the clown troop! :-)

To each their own, but it seems a little extreme when you need a shoe horn to fit everyone in to the rooms.:crowded:

This is too funny!

gopherit, I say the heck with offending people....if I'm not going to be comfortable staying with relatives I get a hotel...or bring my tent. "Oh, no, we really couldn't impose on you...." LOL and just be more insistent than they are!

I can certainly imagine 21 people in a GV....but, yuck! Doesn't sound like a very pleasant vacation. So much for how relaxing OKW can be! But as many have said, I know people who would do this. Heck, I know people who call a "Disney vacation" staying in their off site timeshare, riding the monorail and crashing Disney resort pools.

It's so hard to remain neutral with all these various opinions, but in my mind the one truely important comment that has been thus far ignored, is the safety issue raised by Gigashadow. What if (God forbid) there was a fire or some other tragedy? 21 people heading for the door would have been a disaster. Be safe not sorry. Just my 2-cents

AirBoss (one who really needs a spell checker)

So THAT"S why there was no seat on the bus!

OMG, this is really pushing the limits! They must have had wall to wall bodies at night with people sleeping on the floors. The GV's are large and spacious but 21 people! That does not sound like it would be an enjoyable vacation to me. I do not think I would want to be in 1 villa with 20 of my family members even if the GV's were capable of sleeping 21 people. A little too much togetherness, IMO.
I guess this OKW member really believes in taking full advantage of the larger rooms! I wonder how many other times they have done this? :crowded:

They must have thought they had plenty of room compared to their double-wide back home!
