21 day Tix not for US?

I just read that UK residents can get a 21 day ticket, but US residents cannot. Wow. It's bad enough that the US offers such short vacation/holiday time, but for disney to penalize it's resident's because of it seems wrong also (by offering shorter tickets, based possibly on the shorter vacation time). I was thinking of extending our 17 day vacation to a 20 but have been in a quandry over the ticket issue. To have to pay the highest price (approx 70 per day) for the additional 3 day ticket we want is tuff since the price drops signifigantly after that.
Does anyone know how this ticket works, I have friends abroad and would consider getting them shipped there if that's the way disney wants to play
We get the 10 day base with WP's and more and only go once a yr and really won't even consider twice since we go on other vacations elsewhere. We don't want to be "forced" into dates by making the two vacations fit into one yr for an AP either since we have other fall plans as well and try to fit all of them in.
Any suggestions

It's unfortunate, I agree. I mean, the difference between a 7 and 10 day ticket is about $6. Anything over 10 days, it jumps up to an AP which is another $100 - $150 more. I've never understood Disney doing that.

They're almost begging people to spend no more than 10 days there, then go over to Universal.

we'll, it has been a while since we've been to Universal and although we swore it off.. That does look like something to cinsdier, doesn't it, especially since you can get two days out of 1 admission....

I dont understand why they offer longer tickets either but, here is something to think about. A 10 day base ticket is $225 and a 7 day w/WP only (no hopping) is $269 that puts your total at $494. If you want to add PH to both these tickets your total becomes $584.

An regular AP is $448. thats cheaper than the first option. The Premium AP's $579 you get the hopping and w/p and thats cheaper than the second option. So either way you would be saving money on your trip.

If you do annual trips just schedule them 11 months apart and your money won't seem wasted. Plus you will get some great discounts on rooms during the year.

I have friends abroad and would consider getting them shipped there if that's the way disney wants to play

the only problem will be the address to match your name. I only had trouble once getting into the part, I had a cut on my finger so it didn't match to the first time I had done the finger scan and I had to show my ID to get in. If something like that happened your ID would not match.

UK Tickets I believe are sold in the form of vouchers which are taken to Guest Relations along with ID to have the tickets issued. ( I think )

Whatever, true or not, the price difference isn't that great from there to an Annual Pass which gives you a full YEAR to enjoy Disney vs 21 days. I'd go for the AP.

If you are planning a 17-20 day trip, why wouldn't you buy an annual pass?

My wife and I love Disney, but I don't think that we could spend that many days in the parks in a stretch. Even if I was 'stuck' in Orlando for a month, there is so much other stuff to do within an hours drive that I probably would only be in the Disney Parks for maybe 10-12 days tops.

What does the 21-day Disney Park plan consist of?

Our last visit (Oct 06) was for 21 days, and we purchased all our tickets here in the UK.
There are now many websites that issue real tickets and not vouchers (and I always panic that I'll either leave them at home or lose them on the journey)

They are good value

The adult ticket is approx $360/child $322 for 21 days, with all 4 theme parks, all water parks, disney quest and park hopping included in the price.

We are coming back in Aug 08, staying at the WL and have already ordered our 14 day tix, got the DDP for free so am counting the days until I make my ADR's.

It does seem strange that Disney doesnt offer this option to its USA guests

For us 21 days in Orlando means not having to go comando in the parks, we like to shop, visit US/IOA, SeaWorld, take a trip to the Coast, and generally chill out.

But the 21 day Disney ticket for us gives the total flexibilty of being able to go to any park/water park/disney quest on any day

We have two small children, hence our stays are longer and we no longer hop, too much for little ones.

Wow, what a GREAT price... I would buy that, way cheaper than the

hopping and wp total would be 608 for 10 day and 3 day

What's missing is that these tickets are aimed at the UK market who generally speaking - pay a LOT more just to GET to Orlando and therefore tend to stay longer... a LOT longer than the average U.S. guest.

And they tend to spend more on these vacations than the average US visitor.

But in order to GET to Orlando, they often have to spend upwards of $1200 (US) per person (including children) just to get there..

Disney marketing has chosen to offer them special priced tickets to sweeten the deal and get the people from the UK ... to come in the first place.

I thought about that, but realized disney would proabably not want to begin the practice of offering larger vacations as in europe, so they along with many other of the other larger US employers help perpetuate the shorter vacation option. Also, the exchange rate is VERY good for UK travelers... so I am not sure if the expense is as great or quite a good deal as opposed to going over to the continent, ie france?

hmmm what I don't think i got across well was, I think their vacations are longer because they are for the most part offered much longer "holiday" as they call it there, "vacation" as it is called here, time usally a month minimum to start. And they spend more because the exchange rate is good and more can be purchsed with the same dollar that would get them less in their own country....

Ultimately if you are unhappy these tickets aren't available to North American guests, you should let DISNEY know directly..

Thanks so much for the address.. I will be sure to be postitive and send them a note... The parks are truly more than a weeks (10 day) destiantion now and would love to see the tix structure reflect that

And FWIW -- The Ticket sticky at the top of this forum DOES indicate the some folks have had the tickets sent to friends in the UK and then had them re-shipped back to them in the US.

I guess I wouldn't wanna get caught using that ticket if you had any kind of ID problems is all.
