.................................................

Didn't Gretchen say that Jeff was diagnosed a year after they started dating? That doesn't sound like a gold-digger to me. He was only in his young 50s for crying out loud. It's not like the Anna Nicole Smith situation that screamed gold-digger.

I like this show the best. The NY show was watchable, but I couldn't bring myself to watch the Atlanta show. I tried, but those ladies were just too over the top.

I hope that Josh finds happiness away from drugs. He can go either way, but I truly hope that Lauri can find happiness in all aspects of her life. Josh's drug-free happiness will bring her happiness.

Lynne's house didn't look all that great when they showed the outside shot.

Ya, I was surprised at that...I almost thought she was in a high rise apt. The inside (or the kitchen) looked really nice. Wow, and her DD wants a BMW for her 18th bday.

Gretchen and Lynne were shopping, the dresses = $1300.00!!! But its the OC!!! ::yes:: I have a dress very similar to the one Gretchen bought, I got mine at Macy's, on sale, with a coupon = $29.99!!! :thumbsup2

Brianna seems so unhappy in every show. :sad1:

Next week looks good with Jeana betraying Vicki...but I will have a house full of company...that episode will be SAVED!!! ::yes::

There's not different degrees of gold-digging? :confused3And yes, Jeff had $$$$$ money a year before when they started dating. Not every gold-digger stays till the person dies.

I remember an old saying I heard years ago, "It is just as easy to love a rich person as a poor person. Loving rich is better." I'm sure some of these women position themselves to find rich men to love.

In the movie, "P.S, I Love You," Lisa Kudrow's character asks potential men a whole series of questions even before she will even consider them. One of the questions is, "Are you working?" I don't consider that a gold-digging type question, so much as loving a person with a job is so much better. :thumbsup2

I just took note that even the other housewives "joked" about Gretchen being a gold-digger. Surely, within their own circle & environment, they would know more about that, than us? And they spent actual time with her.

I need to go shopping with you! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure about Gretchen. When they were in the jewelry store last week or so, she seemed like a gold digger to me. I'm sure she loved him and stuff, but if he did not have money, they would not have been together.

About Gretchen and Jeff's relationship...it is what it is. They each got something from each other in one way or another. If Gretchen made a very sick man happy in his dying days, well, then, who am I to judge.

What is up with Vicki though? She has no compassion whatsoever for Gretchen or Jeff. The whole time Tamra and Jeana were on the phone with Gretchen(in the last episode), Vicki is rolling her eyes and making faces. In the last episode, when they were in the limo on the way to the spa. I think it was Jeana who asked Gretchen how Jeff was doing. Vicki immediately gets on her phone and computer and just ignores the whole conversation. She was extremely rude. She couldn't even bring herself to say "I'm sorry you have to go through this".

I used to like Vicki. Even though she was a little annoying. But, this season, she is just obnoxious.

::yes:: That's all I mean. I'm not saying Gretchen is evil or that being a gold-digger is evil. Obviously, what ever relationship they had, benefitted them both.

I found some info on Gretchen and Jeff!

Gretchen Rossi, 30, resides in Costa Mesa. Records show that she was married to Christopher J. Rossi and the couple filed for divorce in Orange County Superior Court in July 2007.

She recently attended funeral services for her partner and reported fiancé, Jeffrey Beitzel, who died at 54 on Sept. 13. He was a resident of Newport Coast and Northville, Mich.

According to his obituary, Beitzel was a graduate of Leigh University and started his career at the Ford Motor Company. He proceeded to establish a number of successful automotive enterprises, and was chief operating officer of Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies in Irvine when he died.

He had four children: Jennifer, Jill, Elizabeth and Jake. Jake, 17, has a MySpace page titled "r.i.p. pops." His personal quote is "I Love and Miss You Dad," and his mood is listed as "depressed."

"You are the best Dad anyone could ever ask for," he writes on his profile page. "You taught me to be strong, how to make the right decisions, to be a role model."

At least one of Jake's MySpace photos features his late father and Rossi attending a Detroit basketball game with Jake.

Rossi's relationship with Beitzel, his illness and his death are expected to be a major part of her story on "Housewives."

Gretchen Rossi is one of the housewives featured on Bravo's docu-drama series, "The Real Housewives of Orange County."

This season's newest housewife is a 30-year-old blonde bombshell with a sparkling personality, dazzling smile and—something very few Orange County women have—real breasts. Gretchen Rossi's outward beauty is obvious, but is her beauty only skin deep?

Gretchen Rossi is engaged to Jeff, a wealthy businessman who made his fortune in the automotive industry – and who just happens to be 23 years older than her. Jeff's been married and divorced five times, has four adult children and is very rich. Jeff also has acute Leukemia.

Gretchen Rossi openly admits that she's not physically attracted to Jeff – he's not her type. But she also says that he is her "prince charming" and the kindest man she has ever met. Jeff proposed to Gretchen Rossi from his hospital bed just months after they began dating. Gretchen Rossi did not expect that she would become Jeff's primary care giver during his cancer treatments. Is Gretchen Rossi a saint, after money….or both? Gretchen Rossi is a party girl who likes to go to nightclubs, drink and dance. But there is more to Gretchen Rossi than meets the eye as she switches gears to becoming Jeff's nurse, learning how to give Jeff injections and managing his demanding daily care.

Jeff wants to buy a house in Coto for Gretchen Rossi and his adult children. Although Gretchen Rossi likes Jeff's kids, she wonders about the pitfalls of having an instant family, especially while Jeff is recovering.

Gretchen Rossi grew up in La Crescenta, California, and attended Baylor University in Dallas, Texas, where she studied psychiatry. Following college, Gretchen Rossi went into the then-booming real estate industry, but quit working to take care of Jeff full time. She meets the housewives through fellow realtor, Jeana Keough. The wives are suspicious of her, mostly because she is younger and very sexy.

I thought they would have gotten married right after they got engaged. I'm still not sure why she would do the show with him being so sick.

Actually do some googling on Gretchen and Jeff. Apparently, she was cheating on her first husband with Jeff....for a few years. and Jeff was known for always having young attractive women on his arm even when he was married. . His family doesnt seem real fond of her and what has happened over the past few months with him and her (before and after he died)

Ick! Then they're both low lifes. Just because you can attract other people doesn't mean that you should when you're married. They deserved one another.

It says Jeff was 53, either hiss illness really took a toll on him, but he looked more like 73 or at least in his sixties. He was not 53.

I agree that it seems there is something wrong with Vicky. I think she is jealous of everyone's relationships. Also, I'm glad that we don't have to watch the production of Laurie's annoying daughter's annoying skin care line. "I love taking care of my skin and I want to help other people do the same." I mean, COME ON!!

So here's my obscure "wow" moment in the series so far...
When Jeana was redecorating her bedroom, she had Patrick Nagel prints all over her walls, and said that SHE had been the inspiration/model for them. I worked in an art store in college in the late 80's and sold TONS of these prints, and I never in a bajillion years would have thought she would have been the model for those....

After googling, I found this quote, "His wife, Jennifer Dumas, a successful model, had a great influence on his life and art. She occasionally posed for him, and some have speculated she was the inspiration for the concept we recognize as "the Nagel woman."
Sorry Jeana!
Terri

Aww, that's sad that Jeff died, although not surprising.

Yeah, what's with Vicki this year? I used to love her, but she's really annoying me. Don isn't "allowed" to go on vacation with her, yet she wonders why he doesn't give her the "5 love steps"? HELLO!?!?

Lauri should've left the show a long time ago. Josh has been screaming for help for years now, but she's been too busy with George to care or notice.

I miss Kimberely and Tammy Knickerbocker. Those were my favorites!

I am sick of watching Vicki already this season. It's always her way or the highway. It's depressing to watch her and why Don puts up with her is beyond me.

I like all of the women of the OC for the most part. I was surprised to see Lauri's pictures of when she was younger. She looks NOTHING like herself now, she is just a pure product of plastic surgery.

As someone that lives here in the OC, really I have to say the only thing I like about the show is to see all the scenery shots. The OC is so beautiful. From Laguna where Lynne lives to Coto, to San Juan Capistrano, to San Clemente.....just  I am in Newport Beach and that (I think) is the nicest. That is where Vicky is buying her yacht. And I have yet to meet any plastic people....seriously!!! Everyone we have met is so sweet, down to earth, nice people. The shopping is amazing. The Malls are all so beautiful. The one here in NB is called Fashion Island!!! It is
