I've had a Sunbeam one for years, we bought it under the Walgreens label for about $25. It isn't silent, but it isn't noisy either. I've had mine for at least 7 years, maybe longer and it still works. Our tap water in Arizona is awful so I use filtered water in it, but the first 5 years were in Texas and we used tap water and have never had a problem with it.

Probably couldn't find one of those now though.. I did get a good chuckle when I was looking at the humidfiers on-line though.. Who knew I could get a pig or a frog or a shark or a penguin or Hello Kitty or Spongebob - or an elephant - and on and on.. The pink pig was actually pretty cute!
