Just placed my last order and the "estimated" delivery date is "between Dec. 22nd and Dec. 26th"..

In the past, I have always received my items from them very quickly - usually way before the "estimated" delivery date.. What are the odds that this order will get here before Christmas Day?

It's the items I purchased for my son-in-law and I'll feel pretty bad if they don't get here on time.. If they don't, I guess I'll have to give him a list of what he will be getting..

Everyone is done now.. Just have to wait for the stuff to arrive.. :thumbsup2

Amazon is great about shipping, especially if the items are coming from Amazon. Many items sold by Amazon, however, are from other companies.

Always quick shipping from Amazon:thumbsup2

Once in awhile, it has taken longer, from an independent seller through amazon, but still pretty quick.

I believe everything I purchased was being sold by Amazon themselves - although I do have to say that when I have purchased "used" items from sellers they have always been very quick in getting the items out to me..

Glad to hear the things might get here in time..:thumbsup2

Since I know I won't be able to get out to the stores between now and Christmas I decided to go ahead and do my shopping on-line.. Just placed my last order and the "estimated" delivery date is "between Dec. 22nd and Dec. 26th"..

Yikes. I was going to place an order with them tonight or tomorrow. Why is it saying it will take so long to ship?

They are usually better at shipping faster during December if the items are already in-stock. I ordered from Amazon about a week ago, the shipping date was listed as Dec. 8 and I received the package on Fri., three days before the estimated shipping date.

No explanation.. I qualified for the standard free shipping and when the confirmation came, those were the dates listed..

Just yesterday I ordered some items and the estimated delivery date for that shipment was "Dec. 15th"..:confused3

Could be that the orders are really starting to come in fast and furious now..

I love Amazon. And I have there stock.;)

Just bought Monday a camera from them and a load of books. The order arrived Thursday. Now when I'm in WDW Monday I will have my new Canon camera and Frommers new guide to WDW. :santa: :)

Never had a problem with shipments. Ever. Have bought thousands of $ worth of books with no problems.

Were all of your items in stock? Or are you perhaps waiting for them to receive items to then ship to you?

Yep - all in stock (I was very careful to check that).. I think they're just getting a lot more orders now that the days are flying by..

Did your pre-order an item? Something that hasn't been released yet. Is it something that is currently out of stock? I placed another order with them on Friday and my delivery date is 12/10. There has to be a reason behind your delivery date.:confused3 If an item is in stock, it doesn't take that long for them to ship it. :confused3

Orders I've had delivery issues with weren't because of Amazon. It was UPS that dropped the ball.

No - no pre-orders.. As I said, the order I placed yesterday had a "December 15th" delivery date (all items in stock) - the order today (again -all in stock) is "December 22nd to Dec. 26th"..

Hopefully they're just "covering their bases" in case.. I won't worry too much - until the 22nd gets here..:)

I order from Amazon. A lot! And whenever I have used the free shipping option the delivery estimate always seems to be very conservative (ie I always get the order well before the estimated delivery date). It's like they try to scare you into paying for the shipping so you get it faster as their estimated dates for paid shipping is always earlier. ;)

I placed an order with Amazon today also. I qualified for free shipping but decided to change it to standard shipping and pay for it. The free shipping showed it might not ship for 9 - 11 business days. The standard shipping was 3 -5 business days. All items were from Amazon and were in stock. I have always found Amazon to be very quick about shipping things so I am not sure why the free shipping was estimated to be so late but it made me nervous as we are headed to WDW on the 26th and definitely didn't want any packages delivered late.

The other thing to be aware of is the delivery service itself. I had a received tracking notice on an order from a credit card company and it showed that it was to be delivered on Friday by UPS. I tracked it at UPS' site and it showed that it was on the truck at 4 AM and out for delivery. Never made it to my home though and when I checked the tracking on it that night - it showed that it was rescheduled for Monday for some reason.

What was strange was that my daughter said she saw the UPS truck in our neighborhood in the afternoon but they never came up to the house. They typically leave any packages on our porch so I don't know if they didn't think any one was home - but they never left a tag and it didn't show as attempted delivery at the website - only rescheduled.

The holidays have come very quickly this year...

OP, I think that your packages probably will arrive on time.

I have done 99.7% of my shopping with them this Christmas. Just can't beat their prices, no tax and free shipping (on most things). I did have to pay for shipping on one item and it came to less than $3. :thumbsup2

I Ordered from Amazon for the first time yesterday. The estimated ship day was not until Friday. Today I received an email that the item was shipped and the estimated delivery date is Thursday, a day before it was originally scheduled to be shipped. Maybe they just try to give worst case scenarios to cover themselves:confused3

I have been ordering from Amazon for a long time and never had a problem. My orders have always come before the shipping date that they state.

This is great news!!! I tend to be a "worrier" about things like this and now I feel much more confident that the items will arrive in time.. Thanks! :thumbsup2

And if not, it's certainly not the end of the world.. These are gifts for an adult - not a child.. :)

:thumbsup2 I highly recomend Amazon.com!

75% of my 'stuff" comes from them! Just recently I purchased Wii Rockband for 99.00 (60 dollars cheaper than all the Dept stores) AND got it with FREE Shipping & NO TAX.:cool1:

AND they FEDEXED it NEXT DAY DELIVERY for FREE!!!!!
