2018 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 30 to November 12, 2018

I’m semi-local and there are a couple of things I’m really interested so I’m going to give it a try at 9. I’m not terribly optimistic it will go smoothly. Unrelated but I couldn’t sleep last night and was trying to figure out their business rationale for handling this way... I came up empty.

Please let us know if you're successful in booking any of the events. Every year there is a mess with booking F&W events. This is the 23rd annual festival. I just can't understand why Disney can't get their act together on one of their most successful events.

As someone previously posted the Disney annual passholder page indicates AP holders can book the already announced events at 9 today. For me this is very disappointing because there are no seminar type events I want to book and I didn't enjoy the PFTS enough to pay more for the basic ticket and get less than last year.
My AP expires the end of June so I won't have early booking access in JuIy. I hope DVC will get us early access but who knows. And who knows if there will be anything I want to book then anyway.

We are fans of the Italian events (regional lunch, whatever they are calling it now), Who knows when it will be available? the Spice road lunch event is supposed to be available to book tomorrow but it's hard to plan when you don't know when the French and Italian lunches will take place.

We have done both of those lunches in the past and had a terrific time! THAT was what I was hoping to book during early booking! Guess not.

This is so disappointing. We love the special lunches and I love to make my planning calendar and list all of our choices to see which lunches we want to attend. They have taken away all of my excitement about planning our Food and Wine trip.

Exactly! Last year I had a list with my top choices prioritized and second choices listed in case my first picks were sold out. I still had to call both days but it worked out fine in the end. This year is already a disaster. What is with releasing events AFTER booking opens? We may end up taking to strategy of doing other stuff - DVC wine tasting, Wine Bar George, etc as opposed to trying to mess with the nonsense of F&WF. I suppose it is possible they could pull their heads out of their butts by Thursday, but I doubt it.

Got the Parisian breakfast for 10/27!!! I called the passholder number and was on hold for 10 minutes. They didn't raise the price this year! I tried to book for 9/1 but I guess it's not being held that day.

I just noticed yesterday that WBG hosts weekly DVC wine & cheese events and monthly DVC dinners. Dates only extend through summer right now but I definitely am keeping my eye out.

Unbelievable They are booking things they don't even have on their site.

I think this may be the final blow for me. May be time to move on to other festivals. Rewarding Disney for treating us badly is getting old, they won't miss my money but maybe someplace else will appreciate it more.

What??? Congrats but ***, that’s not even supposed to be available.

ETA: just wanted to come back and clarify frustration is with Disney, not you. I’m excited for you!!!

I expect you call, sit on hold for an hour and then hope the CM has a clue and can help you find the dates. Putting them out to the public is way to much to expect from Disney....

Thank you! That's want I was thinking of ....... Not gonna happen if you sit in Europe and this is going to be a long distance call without knowing you are getting somewhere. Guess, we'll just save our money and stick to the booths.

Yeah. I've never bothered before but I will today. I've always rolled with their insane punches for F&W but they finally found my limit. I wasn't sure it even existed at this point, but they found it!!

I don't know why anyone is surprised at this nonsense anymore. Remember 3 years ago they were booking premium packages for people without having a clue what they were selling and making a giant mess of the whole thing.
