Does anyone know when they will come out with the refurbishment and ride closure schedule for 2017? We are going in January and are trying to figure out which 2 parks we would like to visit and get FP for. Thanks, Vicki

There is no such schedule published.
Disney has no set time to post possible refurbs.

Expect Splash Mtn. to be in refurb for part of January, but that's not guaranteed.

There are several sites that try to keep updated on refurbs (including the one you're reading now) but there's just not good advance word from Disney on this stuff.

I know Splash usually always goes down for refurb in January, but does it typically go into February? I've tried looking for past refurb lists, but can't seem to find it.

Three good sources. As they are made available these sites add them to their lists. There are usually minor differences in what the sites report.

Splash mountain is getting a one day refurb in December.

What do you mean there isn't good advance work on refurbs? Disney does give good advance word, it's not like just closed BTMRR without saying it was going to happen.

As for January the only thing scheduled is Typhoon Lagoon right now. I'm sure we will see other things added in the coming months.

I mean exactly what I said.

My understanding is weather also plays a part is how long is down. It can get into freezing temperatures overnight and that ride is vulnerable to damage if the water freezes.

Well, if you disregard that Disney put BTMR on refurb in Feb, took it off, then put it on again for June (ish, I don't NT remember exact months). And that's not counting that the non Disney sites had it listed for refurb and then took it off again before Disney did it so it was back and forth many times if you were watching it (which I was for our trip).

There's info out there but you have to keep checking since in some cases it changes a lot.

Which is false.

For the OP, follow this site and the others provided for up to date refurbishment info.

I've already stopped reading the Rumors and News board because of the way that you "speak" to people.

Disney isn't perfect. They don't release information in a timely manner and don't always stick to the information that they do release!

I didn't know there was a way I "speak" to people.

I have never said Disney is perfect I will be the first person to tell you they aren't. I also never said they release information in a timely manner, and I've never said they always stick to info that they do release. Things do change its life, you roll with it.

As for refurbishments Disney does release that info. Sure sometimes it's only a month ahead of time but it's not like they close it with no notice. There are also times they move a refurbishment like the BTMRR refurb happening now.

Exactly. You do have to keep checking because it does change. I never said Disney doesn't change things. I post those kinds of updates all of the time on the rumors and news board.

That makes sense. I never thought of that. I will gladly take Splash being closed over BTMR, since we had to miss it this year with the refurb. I got to ride Splash plenty of times two weeks ago. So even if it is closed, it won't be a huge deal.

Last year, Splash had a short refurb, but the two years before that, it was down from January to March. It could be down for a few days or a few months.
