2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

We'll be there from Sept 17th to Sept 29th for our wedding/honeymoon. I wanted it to overlap with F&W ;) We've only been to WDW once. I'm enjoying reading everyone's posts on this thread.

Mark Wills — September 30-October 1
Now, my fiance and I would definitely have made an effort to see him! But we'll be on a 3 night cruise. I had even thought of stopping at Disney on our way back from Canaveral because we have APs, but that would be Oct 3

Sending you some "pixie dust", you never know. pixiedust: At one time, I believe that the Party for the Senses was offered every Saturday during the festival. Disney keeps extending the dates for the event which is most likely why its now only offered during October.
Thank you!! I hope it is and if not I'll still find something fun!

Any more concert rumors?

If i remember last year, the dining packages were released PRIOR to all the acts and dates being confirmed.

I planned this trip only wanting to be there during Halloween. Getting more excited knowing Food & Wine is going at the same time. Already broke and exhausted just thinking about all I want to see and do and we're not going for another 5 months!

Sorry if I've missed this somewhere in this thread already, but can anyone tell me how far in advance you can generally book tastings, demos, and special events? I've been to the Fest a few times but haven't signed up for any of those things so never paid attention to when to do that - I'm assuming they fill fast. We're going Oct. 1-4 and interested in doing a beverage seminar and/or a cheese/wine pairing.

Also, we've done numerous mixology seminars on Disney Cruise Line. Does anyone know if the tastings are done in a similar way for the Fest, where the bartender explains the drinks but they're essentially premixed and distributed to you, or do you get the ingredients to mix them yourself?

Thanks for any info!
The mixology seminar of two years ago... the $15 ones, were basically an infomercial for the featured liquor. Informative and interesting. One was better at the others at explaining the details about how you develop a cocktail, mixing flavors, sour, sweet etc. Then at each of them, we were served cocktails in shot glass sized glasses. 3 per seminar.

Worth every bit of $15 but not a penny more.

We went Sept. 21 - 25, and it was so hot that we would leave the parks midday (3pm-ish) for our hotel and not return. Temperatures were mid 90s with the heat index over 100.

Oh no! I am booked 09-22 September as the schools are in session and I thought the weather would be good. My poor boyfriend with his Irish genes is just going to melt!

Really looking forward to the Food & Wine Festival though, I was hoping it would be on as we've never been. Now to pick which to spend my snack credits on!

There were also some changes to the bands after the official list was released.

We've got a standard view studio at BCV Oct 15 and 16 and we've got boardwalk view the 17th. Hoping to the 14th or the 18th, if not we'll probably drop the 17th and two two nights at SSR or Vero. Tough call.

FWIW we melted in Nov a couple years back! (And by "we" I mean 2 CA girls used to 100+ temps for most of summer but we're a dry heat out here, the humidity kicked our rears. And the locals were all griping about how it was hot like summer and it shouldn't feel like that so it was admittedly a bit abnormal.) Anyways the only way we could deal with the heat, and still enjoy all the F&W booze without passing out, was to take constant breaks in air conditioned areas. The 3 amigos ride at the MX pavilion? God sent! Seriously. We voted it the best ride by the end of our 2 days in Epcot because when you want to collapse from heat that long air-conditioned boat ride away from crowds is wonderful. It could have been themed to a black hole we would have still loved it. Heat is just a part of WDW that time of year so get ready for serious heat & humidity for Sept. If you're mentally prepped and drink water constantly and take mid-day pool breaks you can both still have a wonderful time :)

BTW- don't forget your sunblock. WS is one sunny place! (Hilarious the idea someone would forget to bring sunblock to FL- but we both did. Our first purchase in FL was possibly the world's most expensive bottle of basic sunblock at the gift shop of Universal's Cabana Bay!)

For at least the last two years, Party for the Senses was only scheduled on Saturdays in October.

I know you were answering someone wanting to know about Party for the Senses being available in Sept, but just thought I'd note... last year Party for the Senses had at least one Friday night option in October in addition to the usual Saturdays in October. I think that was a first for a Friday night option but I wouldn't be surprised to see them play around with the schedule some more.

2015 was SOOOOOOO hot when we were there in November. To be honest, we've had 100 degrees in December and felt really cheated weather wise! After living in Florida we just decided that anything goes weather wise. One year in PA and I've decided it's way more bipolar weather wise than FL so I think I'd take the heat and humidity year round vs. 30 to 80 to 40 to 90 to 60 or whatever I'e experienced this year!

That was The Year! (I don't think my body could handle 80 to 40, like I'd walk outside & my body would probably just be like "Ah heck no! Let's just faint, maybe she'll get the message this is not ok!")

I am going for the first time October 16-20 and was wondering if this is something you should plan to spend all day in Epcot for? And in the past what has been of some the best countries to not miss?

A full day is a must if you're not planning to park hop. Pacing is key and running from booth to booth will catch up to you fast (I learned this). Last year the booths that stood out to me food wise were Africa, Belgium, Canada, Chocolate Studio, Greenhouse Guru, Ireland, and New Zealand. EasyWDW reviewed every single food item last year and gave a rating on taste & value and hopefully he'll do it again this year too. I also used this app to wishlist items and keep track of what I tried. It's very overwhelming trying to decide on just a few!

Okay, I don't think we will park hop that day due to that the 2 people I am going with have never been to Epcot, well never been to Disney World at all. And thanks for the website and app suggestion. I'll definitely be using those.
